The next free seminar in the Wellness Wednesday Financial Education series, March 16, focuses on life insurance. There are two, hour-long sessions at Noon and 3 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (9 a.m. and Noon, Pacific Standard Time).

“There is more to life insurance than just paying for final expenses,” said Wayshak Hill, VA’s program analyst for the Wellness Wednesday Financial Education program.

This session details ways to use life insurance and can help you determine how much life insurance you need. It will also look at the various types of life insurance and how to match the options with your personal situation.

Previous seminars in the series have covered student loan repayment, taxes, homebuying, managing employment change, paying for college, budgeting, emergency savings funds and tips for a healthy financial life. The seminars have earned consistently high marks from participants.

Participants also have access to the Financial Wellness Center, a digital portal focused on learning, with more than 100 short educational articles and interactive tools that include financial self-assessment, budgeting and student loan assistance and counseling.

    Life insurance is one of the most underrated and often under utilized asset protection tools I see civilians and military members take for granted. The landscape has changed so much it’s no wonder it can be confusing to understand which types and how much you actually need. This seminar sounds like exactly what is needed!
