Are you a Veteran with aspirations of entrepreneurship and business ownership? Do you need guidance to help you put your idea into action?

Warrior Rising is positioned to help you. A non-profit organization launched by Veterans for Veterans in 2015, Warrior Rising is dedicated to transforming Veterans into “Vetrepreneurs,” providing them opportunities to create sustainable businesses, perpetuate the hiring of fellow American Veterans and earn their future.

Warrior Rising’s next free online course for Vetrepreneurs starts on Feb. 22. You need to apply no later than 6 p.m. EST on Feb. 22 at Warrior Rising SDVET Program Registration. The next presentation of this course will be in May 2023. This free Service-Disabled Veteran Entrepreneurs (SDVET) program includes four weeks of web-based instruction, followed by participation in other programs offered by Warrior Rising: Warrior Academy, VETtoCEO, virtual-live coaching-mentoring sessions.

Take note of the following course information:

  • Introduction and overview of starting a business, as well as advantages to purchasing an existing business or starting a franchise.
  • Identifying opportunities in business.
  • Understanding markets and competitive space.
  • Building your economic model.
  • Legal entity structuring and insurance.
  • Financing options, including the latest in capital agreements, ex “SAFE” agreements.
  • Business plan creation.
  • Available resources and VOSBs.

The course is offered by Warrior Rising as part of its SDVET Program, which is sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The course is free to all verified service-disabled Veterans. Attendees may be located anywhere in the United States.

For verification purposes, a DD-214 is preferred, but another VA-issued ID is fine. Please blackline or cover your social security number. Class attendees must also provide documentation from VA showing disability. Any disability rating is sufficient.

Interested Veterans must be pursuing a career as an entrepreneur or business owner at the concept or early stage of business development for this program.

Current or widowed spouses of qualifying Veterans may also participate, but they must also provide the required documentation.

For this course, virtual live sessions via Zoom will start at 7 p.m. EST (4 p.m. PST) on the following Thursdays: Feb. 23, March 2, March 9 and March 16. The Zoom link will be provided to you by email two to three business days before the sessions start.

Please ensure that your information is correct when registering, especially your email address. Check your spam folder. Or in some cases if you have auto-routing rules set up for your email, the email may bypass your inbox altogether and go to trash or another folder you’ve set up in your email. It will be the same link for every session. Please be aware that our email provider also distributes a newsletter and other information. If you unsubscribe, you won’t receive any messages, including links for these sessions.

Also, please note that while this program is funded particularly for service-disabled Veterans, Warrior Rising has other programs open to any Veteran: Warrior Academy, VETtoCEO and coaching-mentoring. You can find more information on our web page under the tab “What We Do.”
