I am not convinced any Federal Agency cares about veterans. I applied for Schedule A for positions with the IRS. The IRS via email stated I was tentatively elgible then I was ghosted. Wait they care on veterans day.
I have been applying for the past 14 months and even though I have a degree, experience, and veterans preference I have been unable to secure a federal job. I have applied to multiple positions with other federal agencies, not just the VA and still no interviews which means no consideration for employment. I have tailored my resume several times, reached out to hiring mangers, and even had my “supportive employment” counselor go to a section manager to request that they take me as a non paid work experience to see if that would lead to a job, but the higher ups would not allow it. So how is a disabled veteran supposed to get a job to support himself and his family with the rising cost of living. ..?
