UPDATE, 2/25/25: Pursuant to pursuant to the Executive Order titled “Commencing the Reduction of the Federal Bureaucracy,” issued on February 19th, the Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program is being terminated governmentwide. There currently aren’t any Pathways Internships or Recent Graduates positions at VA listed on USAJobs.
If you are a student or recent graduate seeking a career at VA, consider the Pathways Programs.
Established to help talented people like you find work in the federal government, Pathways consists of three distinct programs: the Internship Program, the Recent Graduates Program and the Presidential Management Fellows Program.
- Through the Pathways Internship Program, students can learn about various career paths, earn a competitive salary while continuing their educations and contribute to the larger mission of VA in a meaningful way.
- The Pathways Recent Graduates Program provides recent graduates legally permitted to work in the U.S. with valuable training, hands-on VA work experience and professional development opportunities.
- The Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program is a premier leadership development program across the federal government for advanced degree candidates at the entry level of their careers.
With unique opportunities that offer unparalleled access to training and mentorship, Pathways Programs are an excellent way to start a VA career. For Veterans interested in pursuing one of these pathways, the Veteran and Military Spouse Talent Engagement Program (VMSTEP) can help.

The Phoenix VA Police have been scrutinized for Giglio and Brady impairments, terms referring to law enforcement officers with credibility issues that could disqualify them from testifying in court.
Giglio-Impaired Officers: Officers with a history of dishonesty, misconduct, or other credibility concerns that must be disclosed to the defense in legal proceedings.
Brady Material: Any evidence that could be favorable to the defense, including past misconduct of law enforcement officers.
If Phoenix VA Police officers are deemed Giglio or Brady impaired, this could mean:
Their testimony in criminal cases may be unreliable or inadmissible.
Prosecutors may have to disclose their credibility issues to defense attorneys.
Cases relying on their reports or testimony could be dismissed or overturned.
Their continued employment in law enforcement may be in question.
This raises concerns about accountability, integrity, and the overall effectiveness of the Phoenix VA Police Department. If there are widespread issues, it could erode public trust and call for external oversight or reform.
What a joke that the new head of the VA would put out a news story about the pathway to VA employment when he just fired 1000 employees that were on pathway as new employees as directed by the new administration of republicans political party.
Wow, this looks like a fantastic set of programs for individuals looking for a method to support our Veterans while extending their learning experience. I wish there had been a series of programs like these when I completed my military service and returned to college. Like many veterans I found it difficult to continue my education while working to support my family. I was forty-five when I finally completed my education with a master’s in industrial safety and health.
I am very concerned that programs like these will not survive the onslaught of cuts being imposed by the current administration. I hope that the Veterans Administration is spared the arbitrary cuts that are affecting worthwhile programs and processes that are a key to the good work performed by the people at the VA.
Really the pathways program was the hiring platform that the 1000 VA hires was under when they were fired. Seems like the new Trump loyalist director can’t even figure out how poorly timed and inappropriate this email of VA news is.
