VA has announced a new policy limiting the display of flags at VA facilities, effective immediately. The policy is intended to establish consistency across the department and aligns with longstanding Department of Defense guidelines.

Under the new directive, only specific flags may be publicly displayed or depicted at VA facilities. These include the United States flag, flags of U.S. states and territories, military service flags, VA flags and official flags of U.S. agencies. Additionally, flags representing prisoner of war/missing in action (POW/MIA), Senior Executive Service (SES), military command units and burial flags for honoring Veterans and reservists are permitted.

The policy applies to all VA facilities, including offices, government vehicles, medical centers, common areas and parking lots. However, it does not prohibit the inclusion of unauthorized flags in museum exhibits, state-issued license plates, grave sites, historical displays or works of art, provided they do not imply official endorsement by the department.

This guidance supersedes VA’s previous memorandum on displaying flags during Pride Month, issued in May 2024. However, it does not affect existing policies governing national cemeteries.

“All Veterans and VA beneficiaries will always be welcome at all VA facilities to receive the benefits and services they have earned under the law,” Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins said in an email to all employees. “This policy will bring consistency and simplicity to the display of flags throughout the department, ensuring a singular focus on serving the needs of Veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors.”

VA’s implementation follows similar policies maintained by the Department of Defense since the previous Trump administration and upheld during the Biden administration.

Why can’t the Pride flag fly at VA Buildings.
The VA does have patients in the LGBTQ Community who served there country just like everyone else.

    • John E. Dillard, Sr. Evangelist March 7, 2025 at 13:06

The only pride flag that deserves to be flown over any Governmental building is the American flag. THAT SHOULD BE ENOUGH PRIDE FOR US ALL!!!!!

  2. Maureen MCGINN March 6, 2025 at 22:16

Thank You For Common Sense! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

  3. James March 6, 2025 at 15:31

The decision with the flag is fine. Though the facilities need to have the American flag lit with a light if it’s going to be displayed overnight.

It’s crazy that the VA in La Jolla CA didn’t have it lit up with all those veterans walking around maybe not noticing it?

Thank you to you Mr. Doug Collins and all those who are looking out for us, little people and for protecting our vital means. I/we appreciate you and we can breathe now a sigh of great relief.
Thank you sir and may God bless all involved.

It’s about time they get rid of that rainbow flag which only stands for a small percent of the population but yet they got a whole month and a whole flag just for them. They have special needs. I live in La San Diego California and we have a huge VA hospital out here And once a year there will be six rainbow flags right out in front of the VA I used to get so angry.

  6. Chief C March 6, 2025 at 10:38

I am a retired Navy Chief, worked at VA 2 times…lots of waste and fraud. VA should close and all Vets eligible for services, including their families, would be presented a VA card with insurance info for providers to use for billing. The VA would have a hub in each time zone to address questions from Veterans and medical services providers. Medical facilities would NOT contact Veterans for payments etc., those questions would have to be resolved via VA Hubs.

  7. Donald Critzer March 6, 2025 at 10:35

I am glad that America has reclaimed itself. The flag ordeal is a major thing for me , even though there are more pressing and important issues at hand.

  8. Annie Fitch, HMC (ret) March 5, 2025 at 19:29

They just announced 80,000 VA layoffs. I think your wait time might be just a bit longer.

    • Dan March 6, 2025 at 11:36

Under the previous administration in four short years 63k Jobs were added to the VA. Most of the jobs revolved around DEI initiatives and other political agendas. From my own personal antidotal experience, I’ve met with incompetence, long wait time for basic appointments, and unnecessary tests and treatments. You walk in like livestock to slaughter and leave feeling worse then when you entered. History teaches that throwing enormous amounts of money at a problem leads to bigger problems and greater opportunity for fraud, waste and abuse. The cultural mindset and managing philosophy needs to change if the system will ever serve veterans as they deserve. Otherwise, it will end up like any other public health system. Useless and designed to make their patients die quicker or volunteer to die quicker.

      • George7Baldwin March 13, 2025 at 19:15

Member since 1999, I wonder how in 2026, will bring in the way of LIVESTOCK to SLAUGHTER. Way before DEI initiatives, I’ve often encountered slow phone calls not getting answered. Now, VA is spot on and never a delayed experience. I hope this does not change.

  9. Tommy March 3, 2025 at 12:57

Thank goodness, finally a common sense approach. VA is an extension of military service and as such shouldn’t be used as a social agenda platform or experiment.

  10. Richard Miskanis February 28, 2025 at 02:22

Great. That is as it should be.
Now see what you can do about multiple weeks and months long waits for appointments at VA Hospitals.
    Thanks,
    Richard.

  11. Karen S Gardiner February 27, 2025 at 10:18

So exactly what other flags were flying that the current administration had issues with? This is minutia, while the firing of VA employees lessens service that is already over burdened.

  12. Craig Christenson February 26, 2025 at 23:50

Making changes requires a thorough and reasoned evaluation of what exists and what to change to. I have no doubt that some changes may be prudent. However, nothing Trump and his appointees have done so far has ever been shown the light of day as to actual facts and reasoning for their changes. Our veterans, citizens representatives and employees deserve to know the actual facts. At this time I do not trust that these actions are knowledgeable or truthful. I cannot believe that firing ‘all’ these employees can possibly provide a better service for vets, which I also am?

    • John E. Dillard, Sr. Evangelist March 1, 2025 at 14:19

I am a U S Army vet and I can see the forest for the trees. So, the changes that Joe Biden made you trust???? And you can’t see that these positions that are being done away with was not helping care for the core of veterans in need of quality care???? Why do we need a LBGTQ-RSTUV clinic at the VA? Gay affirming care???? For what???? Being gay has nothing to do with receiving care at the VA. Being gay has nothing to do with being a veteran!!! That in it self eliminates more than a thousand jobs!!!! That’s thorough reasoned evaluation of waste. What more facts do you need??? Some employees are not qualified do to DEI hiring practices!!! You seem to be very articulate. Be a self thinker. If you were at an art museum and was looking at a painting from about two inches away, what would you see??? Nothing but a blur. Right? Step back and look at the big picture as it comes into focus. As we all wait and step back we will see a much better VA.

      • Kateri, Army Veteran March 6, 2025 at 11:28

You are not seeing the forest for the trees. The money spent on LGBTQ related medical care, which is health care, is less than 1% of the money the VA spends on caring for Veterans. Diversity hiring just means that those who are qualified are not looked over to hire a white, male who isn’t quite as qualified. The FACTS as you ask for demonstrate over and over that this is TRUE in independent, peer-reviewed, research. Firing 80,000 empoyees in the VA is not going to magically make the VA more efficient. It will inherenlty make it worse. The Pride flag let service members that are often marginalized in spite of their service are welcome in those VA centers regardless of what the care is they are receiving. Clearly you are speaking from a position of not understanding the larger picture as you say. Nothing you said is supported by facts, research, experts, etc. And it is disgraceful that you think gay and queer service members who did serve honorably are not allowed to get the same health care that you get. Shame on you

        • John E. Dillard, Sr. Evangelist March 8, 2025 at 14:59

Kateri, Thank you for your service. I to served in the U. S Army. I am a disabled due an injury sustained while on duty. Here’s some facts for you. Under Joe Biden more than 64,000 DEI hires were added to the VA. Most were administration positions with an annual salary of more than $2M to push the WOKE agenda and the so called 1% health care that has nothing to do with service related heath care. Another thing is that if you think that DEI hiring’s had anything to do with race than how did you ever get through your military service? Was someone of a different race or color promoted over you at any time that you felt did not deserve the promotion? And if so, did you voice your opinion? Racism will stop when people that see color become color blind. Being gay is a choice of an individual that has nothing to do with VA health care. Sex changes that American Tax dollars payed for those in the military should be reimbursed. All Veterans deserve health care as long as it does not include the gay affirming care. Again being gay has nothing to do with VA health care. That’s a fact. I don’t need research studies or experts or polls. It’s called common sense and truth. The real truth is that the gay agenda has polluted our society as a whole. You live your life as you see fit and I will pray that your eyes and heart will shed your hatred and racism. There’s no shame in the Name that I Proclaim. The Truth of Jesus Christ.

        • SFC retired Army March 10, 2025 at 15:47

wait a minute when I was in war all veterans were VETERANS. When bullets fly no one cares what color, sex, religion or any other identity you claimed. What you are implying is that the sexual orientation deserves a higher standard then any other veteran. Then every shade of color, religion, orientation and so on would need special attention. So we should have over 70,000 different special groups? We were all the same armed forces, doing the same jobs we were assigned to and paid by our skill sets, rank etc., not personal preference. I led 75 soldiers in Iraq made up of many colors, religions, sexual orientations and cultures. We were a team which has no I, or the team falls apart. I ensured everyone was treated equally in recognition, benefits or discipline. The armed forces is about working as a team not i am different i get special treatment . When you get out your DD214 states your time, rank and awards not I am special so I get special.

  13. Delfina Outland February 24, 2025 at 03:11

Thank you for your assurance that our veterans will be taken care of! Although I am not a veteran myself, my husband served in the conflict in Germany and my son served in the Afghanistan’s War in the Operation Enduring Freedom twice. I thank GOD they both made it back home safe. Although scarred emotionally (only they and GOD know how deeply), they made it back home safe to their awaiting families. I appreciate hearing directly from you, Mr Collins that you have our veterans backs. Thank you for all you do for our veterans! GOD bless you, Mr Collins!

  14. Mason February 23, 2025 at 02:31

So glad I won’t have to see the degeneracy flag or other commie propaganda at the VA hospitals anymore, at least on directive from the top. I don’t agree with everything Trump does, but this is good news.

Let the degenerate freaks whine and cry… it’s great entertainment!

    • kiona March 5, 2025 at 02:20

But the thing is, those “degenerate freaks” this targets have likely long forgone shedding a tear. To hate a flag is one thing, albeit an incredibly weak thing, but to find joy in the humiliation of fellow servicemembers is really sad. Do you think that flag of “degeneracy” is simply to appease the woke mob on the internet? That it’s just a sticker slapped on the front, restricting the air holes for straight veterans on the inside? Some might not find themselves represented in the pride flag, but see a friend, or brother, or fallen comrade. They see WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. They see the Gulf War, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Beyond that, and beyond any flag, they see the endless headstones of a national cemetery, and folded flags besides caskets. The dead and the tired can neither whine nor cry, and to be entertained by that desire is such a karmic dead end.

      • Dan March 6, 2025 at 11:56

The people who implemented the social policies you see at the VA were largely non-veteran. Military service is associated with our country’s flag and the branch you serve. Flag’s are symbolic to a common goal or creed. The flags I’ve mentioned represent unity and serving a cause greater than your self interests. I understand Mason’s point of view. “Pride” flags; “diversity” flags or most any other flag were the antithesis of serving in the military. The “degeneracy” ultimately was celebrating subcultures dominated by the, “What about ME!!!????” people.
Your logical fallacies in your post are ridiculously blinding. You’ve hit gaslighting, strawman and emotional appeal. Those who gave the most need only be represented by the flags that symbolize their selflessness, not an I, me, me I flag.

  15. David Frenkel February 22, 2025 at 16:18

it seems the VA fixed a problem that didn’t exist. I have never seen an unofficial flag at a VA or DOD facility. This is right up there with the banning of paper straws by the Trump administration. I think the VA has some serious issues that need attention more than this. I am still waiting for the federal budget by mid March otherwise the government shuts down with or without flags.

    • Tom Collins February 26, 2025 at 18:26

We are all veterans of Trump’s Culture War…the only war he would ever dare serve in.

    • Meg Parsetich March 6, 2025 at 13:41

We had a gay pride flag flown at Fort Harrison in Helena, Montana in June 2015. A veteran went and cut it down as it was being flown right under the USA flag. As Obama had authorized it, it was allowed. Goggle this! Fact checked!

Is the Merchant Marine flag allowed to be displayed AS IT SHOULD BE? I know it is at one VA hospital I know of. It is included in the flags of the military branches.

    • NotTiredof Winning February 25, 2025 at 13:20

Merchant Marine is a made-up force with no practical use in this day in age. It should be disincluded. Hopefully, DOGE will get rid of Merchant Marine. Waste of money. DOGE, do your thing.

  20. Terry Anger February 20, 2025 at 16:58

It seems to me that the only flag removed was the “Pride” Flag in this new directive. This is counter to the discrimination laws of the Constitution and effects a community of US citizens that served in our armed forces, (even if they maintained a code of silence.) This does not reflect on the Department as being all-inclusive to veterans and their honor. SHAME on you.

    • John E. Dillard, Sr. Evangelist February 25, 2025 at 18:46

Being gay is a lifestyle choice. There is no place in our VA for gay pride flags or clinics for gays period.

  21. David William Kannas February 20, 2025 at 13:38

Of course our esteemed president won’t allow a pride flag at VA facilities. He’s a homofobe after all. A KKK approved flag will be just fine.

    • William February 20, 2025 at 18:42

Is the Merchant Marine Flag allowed to be flown AS IT SHOULD BE? I know of at least one VA hospital the DOES include it in it’s display of military branches display.

      • NotTiredof Winning February 25, 2025 at 13:22

Merchant marine is not a real thing anymore. Hopefully DOGE will address it.

        • Charles Walters March 6, 2025 at 12:57

Disagree with you. Merchant Marine has been instrumental to winning past wars and will be instrumental in a future war with China should one happen. First Iraq War was won largely due to the Merchant Marine ships that moved weapon systems and materiel to Middle East that enabled the quick defeat of Saddam’s army. During my Marine Corps Vietnam tour of duty, Merchant Marine ships were often docked at the Port of Da Nang delivering materiel required to fight that war. Neither the Navy nor Air Force have the capability to deliver needed weapon systems and materiel to fight current and future wars. IF Merchant Marine veterans are allowed to use VA facilities, then it would be appropriate that the Merchant Marine flag be displayed.

          • SFC Army retired March 10, 2025 at 16:09

Merchant Marines are contracted under one of our branches of service when needed and qualify when used in that respect. So yes the Merchant Marines count when activated under an act of war. They are a very big plus for all armed forces. Yet in their every day normal civilian activity they are not part of the armed forces. So their flag should have something that designates while under military activated control.

    • John E. Dillard, Sr. Evangelist February 24, 2025 at 10:57

David, President Trump is not a homophobe. He’s bringing back the very foundation our nation was built upon, The United States of America! When was go to war we don’t wear gay pride flags on our uniforms. We wear the American Flag. There is no room or place for the so called pride flag in our government!!! Racism has no place in our government either.

  22. Steve Risk February 20, 2025 at 11:35

You dipsh-ts can’t get this through your heads, this is just another distraction from this treasonous coward Tump. This administration has no respect for our democracy, laws or veterans. He’s a lowlife thief and felon . I’m tired of this faux patriotism and flag waving bullsh-t! If you were in uniform, vote and have read the constitution and bill of rights you are qualified to be considered a patriot! This flag waving ain’t it.
If you voted MAGA, you need to go to all th memorials and apologize to the dead
If your cloths weren’t starched by the blood of your brothers in arms , you don’t know sh-t.

    • John Ferrari February 20, 2025 at 16:28

    • Dan March 6, 2025 at 12:22

I’m sure some of our brothers did vote for Trump. They died for their brothers beside them, not for a president. They fought for a very old document, not for a president. By your definition, I am a patriot. Would you dismiss the sacrifice of other patriots just because they have a differing political view than you? If so, that is treason against your brothers. You seem to have forgotten why you served. I went to war for Americans. That was the only qualification you needed from me. I have done nothing to dishonor my brothers and sisters. You need to look in a mirror and see if the stain of shame is on your face.

      • SFC Army retired March 10, 2025 at 16:16

  23. Max Goodman February 20, 2025 at 09:36

You all are trying to blame Trump even tho the ban on certain flags was upheld during the Biden Administration shows how much you lack on knowledge. I agree banning all flags except for the flags mentioned and approved. We don’t need to see 100 different flags displayed.

  24. dee w February 20, 2025 at 09:27

There should be no “Senior Executive Service (SES)” flags anywhere in the VA. Why do senior executives feel that they garner a special flag just for them when it is the rank and file employees that do 90% of the work?

    • Charles Walters March 6, 2025 at 13:01

It is because they are equal to military flag rank but on the civilian side. After my military retirement, worked for a couple of SES in the Pentagon. Hard working and dedicated with a great deal of administrative responsibilities. The VA has them as well. As to needing to display an SES flag, frankly doesn’t bother me but at same time, has no meaning to me. Same for general/admiral flags on military bases. It only showed when the flag officer was aboard and when the flag officer wasn’t aboard. Otherwise, irrelevant.

  25. Robert Fowler February 20, 2025 at 09:09

    • nikki February 20, 2025 at 10:51

Why on Feb19, 2025 my visit to a local VA Hospital in NJ have I not seen 1 picture of our President Donald J. Trump? Funny, the picture of President Obama, was life size. The first time Trump one in 2016 they used a 8×10 picture. Now none at all? Disgraceful, disheartning, disrespectful. Wish DOGE would come and clean this place out, now, tomorrow or any day of the week. PLEASE!

      • Thomas February 23, 2025 at 11:06

Same with Rocky Mountain VA hospital. NO picture of our CDR in Chief. I’ve addressed it with the “leadership” and given a limp reply. I’m trying to find the requirement in writing before dieing on this hill. Does anyone know where this is listed as a directive?

      • Miss kisses February 23, 2025 at 14:00

Probably because they need a decent sized picture of Elon Musk. *shrug*

    • ken March 6, 2025 at 11:57

Yes, they should remove all photos of the weak leaders and immediately put up photos of convicted felons! best idea ever.

  26. Frank February 20, 2025 at 05:48

We served under one flag and one flag only, that of the United States of America.

Not the state flag that your base was located in and no other flags flew from designated flagpoles on military bases other than if on foreign soil that nations flag flew alongside our flag.

At dedicated flagpoles the service branch flag flew with again the country’s flag you gave an oath to defend against foreign and domestic enemies. USA flag.

This isn’t about your flag on your car your gender or your preference of sexual partners it’s about government facilities and the proper theme that represents everyone that served under one flag.

You really need a month a parade a special flag seriously do you truly believe that the majority of the nations masses really care well they don’t.

In fact if there was to be a survey taken the majority would state just that who cares but those involved , people are to busy engrossed in their own life’s to give a flying f about who’s month parade day it is get s life you are missing what the flag issue is about.

It’s a government run facility that has the right to display the flags that represent everyone who served within the armed forces of the Republic that’s the American Flag and on special occasions your military branch of service flags.

We didn’t serve under the flag of the nationality we are or other country you might have come from or any other flag that symbolizes what you think should be allowed, no we served as citizens of the USA or if not a natural born citizen you volunteered as a member of another country to serve within the United States military forces under one flag one nation.

    • John E. Dillard, Sr. Evangelist February 24, 2025 at 11:02

Thank you Frank. One Nation, One Flag.

    • Charles Walters March 6, 2025 at 13:04

Excellent point. When I enlisted in ’64, only one flag was flown pretty much everywhere. Maybe time to go back to one flag again.

  27. Ray February 20, 2025 at 05:26

Everyone Is Getting Excited Over Nothing. Trumpet Collins And Others Can Declare Anything They Want. Let’s Make One Thing Perfectly Clear. The VA And Other Government Facilities Belongs To “We The People.” Not Any President. Not Any Government Official. POLICIES ARE NOT LAWS. Thank God for the VA without the VA I would not have good health insurance. I am on Home Primary Care, it is fantastic. I was sick two weeks ago. I called the VA Home Primary Care, nurse and Lyons New Jersey VA 8:05 AM by 9 AM. I was talking to a doctor video over my phone about what I was sick. The lady doctor told me that I had a virus and to stay in bed. Stay warm drink a lot of liquids and make sure I eat and it would last for at least five days and she was correct. I mean you would not get that on the outside. And my nurse at home primary care would call me every morning for the next five days to check on me thank you VA. I’m 76 years old Vietnam veteran United States Marine Corps thank you very much.

  29. jack February 19, 2025 at 22:49

It’s about time the VA gets back to taking care of all of us who served and not contaminate it with the nonsense promoted by the last Commander in Chief who never released his mental health records like all previous CIC’s had done. Hopefully “jungle school” Joe’s interview with the DOJ that showed him to be a mentally impaired felon will be released soon. The days of division and separation with racist and tranny nonsense is over. Thank you, Mr. President.

    • Howard March 10, 2025 at 17:23

Jack & others, You are about as full of s..t as this administration. Did you conveniently forget: that trump has never released his medical or mental health records as every recent president before him has done, that he is the only “CONVICTED FELON” in this conversation, that he charged/charges the secret service, protecting him, the higher rates for rooms & golf carts at his facilities, that he has done nothing that did not benefit him or his family, that he has never served in uniform, and that he cares less of veterans, especially those with physical disabilities? Don’t imply that this is an honest & trustworthy individual or administration. All of us who served including gay people, who unfortunately had to hide, has a right to VA heathcare. It’s a disgrace that so-called Christians can’t follow the teachings of Christ: “love they neighbor as theyself”! Christ DID NOT say only if he/she is not gay. Who the hell left any man or woman in charge of the human race to decide that being gay is a life choice? STOP! That theory shows some very outdated thinking, not FACT! We all need to look out for those that have been marginalized for whatever reason. But I get it, some small-minded people, like the current president, will always find a way to make themselves feel better by putting others down. None of us are any better than the gayest person on earth; only God has the right to judge. And, why does it matter if a pride, or other social flag, that doesn’t espouse hate/discrimination, is flown in or over the government buildings? Because small-minded people have secret fears of things they can’t respect & accept as the right of others. May God Bless all & give us patience with others & remove all self-rightous piety in our hearts.

  33. Anne Taylor February 19, 2025 at 21:07

A singular focus on vets assumes we’re all the same and have the same needs. Put the flags back, as they represented long-ignored and underserved veterans who deserve to feel welcome too.
Taking the flags down is a pretty clear sign that only heteronormative veterans are the ones VA wants to help. Talk about discrimination.

    • Charles Walters March 6, 2025 at 13:07

Disagree. One flag is all that is needed. Next the service flags. Over my 27 years as a Marine, there was but one color – green Marine. Skin color is irrelevant. Heritage and culture is irrelevant so long as each does their assigned duty per their oath of enlistment/commissioning.

  34. Josey February 19, 2025 at 19:31

Hey Elon, I found a big waste of time and money right here, on your watch. I don’t want my dollars going to implementing hateful policies just for hate’s sake.

Am I wrong? How is this filth actually helpful to ALL of society?

  35. Alfred A. Cross February 19, 2025 at 19:11

This is a GREAT policy change and turns the policy into what it should have been all along. That is something ALL Veterans can be proud of when they visit a VA facility!

    Thank you!

    AL Cross
    SFC/E-7 – Disabled U.S. Army Veteran

    • John Ferrari February 20, 2025 at 16:40

It appears that you are quite enthusiastic about this change. However, it does not address the pressing need for psychologists and medical doctors to fill the increasing vacancies at hospitals, particularly for our veterans. It’s a distraction, after all Trump called us suckers.

  36. Cynthia Miller February 19, 2025 at 09:39

I didn’t get the point of this artcle until the end. Although aimed at gay pride, so long Hispanic Heritage, Black pride and other symbols of inclusion.

    • Reality February 20, 2025 at 09:06

Good, the military is about meritocracy not identity separation.

  37. Hal February 18, 2025 at 15:00

Again rules and laws to satisfy white America and not all Americans, but guess what. WE ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE.
    NO FLAG REPRESENTS ME.
    I REPRESENT ME.

    • John February 20, 2025 at 08:00

Well listen dipstick, if you aren’t included under the TOP FLAG, then report yourself to Tom Homan and leave OUR country. If you are in the U.S. and it’s flag doesn’t represent you – shutup and leave!

    • Reality February 20, 2025 at 09:10

No one cares what color you are. We are AMERICANS. Try getting ahead by doing better, not being born different.

  38. Luis February 18, 2025 at 13:51

So basically this a Gag Law not allowing me to display a Puerto Rican flag on my car which is unconstitutional as it is protected by freedom of speech/First Amendment. This is now preventing employees to display their nationality pride in their vehicles.

    • Jimmy February 19, 2025 at 19:56

“So basically this a Gag Law…” Implying that this directive is a “Gag Law” displays just how committed you are to the Communist Party (you still call it the Democratic Party). Puerto Ricans, and their flags, have always had a place in this country. in fact, Puerto Rico IS a part of this country. All of those born in PR are in fact U.S. citizens. Perhaps if you had not been indoctrinated in the public schools you attended, you would have learned this. Our sympathies to you, Loyal Party Member. By the way, even if you are a member of the VA, what you display in your POV is your decision, even the VA cannot force you to remove the great flag of Puerto Rican Flag.

    • Michael D Wheatley February 19, 2025 at 22:51

“These include the United States flag, flags of U.S. states and territories, military service flags, VA flags and official flags of U.S. agencies.”

Puerto Rico is a US Territory so I assume the flag will be allowed.

    • Reality February 20, 2025 at 09:08

If you love your foreign country so much that you need to let everyone know all the time, just head on back. Oh wait, you won’t because that place isn’t as nice as this place. Pride in WHAT

    • Kenneth Breeden February 23, 2025 at 15:18

This has nothing to do with the flag on your car unless it is owned by the government. Wake up. You’re falling for liberal propaganda.

  39. Toni February 18, 2025 at 12:51

This is nothing but another dig at the LGBTQ community. The fact that they explicitly said pride month means it’s no longer an inclusive America it means we are being taken over by a far right reaching dictator of a president. Who doesn’t understand science, doctoring, and the truth. Shame on Donald Trump.

    • Karl February 19, 2025 at 21:29

Thank goodness. We fought communists for years, it’s about time sometime stopped you people from pushing your divisive, hate-filled ideology on the rest of us. We are one America, united under one flag, and no amount of violence or bigotry on your part can stop us.

    • Scott February 20, 2025 at 10:51

YOU are the FOOL! “I” am not now, nor ever will be accepting of sex perverts who wanna be ‘proud’ of their perversion, because their perverted ‘friends’ approve of their activity. It will forever be WRONG in God’s eyes, and we who belong to Him will never accept it either! This means no more perverted ‘rainbow’ bullsh-t, and maybe the gaybots will just dry up, like the “bundle of dead/dry sticks they are—>

      • Kenneth Breeden February 23, 2025 at 15:20

        Well said.

  40. Toni February 18, 2025 at 12:38

  41. Charles Hoffman February 17, 2025 at 17:18

yes yes yes, stop the nonsense, remove the I have sex this way flag, maybe now it will be safe to have my grandkids tag along and not have to answer why we have trans men lady whatevers, IN MENTAL HEALTH.

    • Toni February 18, 2025 at 12:39

Really You can’t even get the comments right, this is how uneducated in idiotic comments like this are. First off it’d be trans women that you’re attacking second why do you think they are mental health. The very fact that you said that probably means you need mental health. Your kids and grandkids that you’re trying to hide from the world and the LGBTQ community how you think they’re going to grow up when they don’t know the truth. You go out in some city and you see two men holding hands or two men kissing what are you going to tell your grandkids then You going to put blindfolds on them. Grow up, we are moving forward it’s not backwards. You don’t get the dictate how people can live who can they love and what’s between their legs.

      • Paul February 19, 2025 at 20:21

        Hey Toni,
Maybe you are a product of our pathetic educational system that has focused more on pronouns than it does on the 3 R’s. How about proofreading your own post before accusing Charles of being “uneducated”. At the very least use a thesaurus or a spell checker for Christ’s sake!

      • John February 20, 2025 at 08:19

“You don’t get the dictate how people can live who can they love and what’s between their legs.” And you do? The whole problem is that this “community” keeps trying to tell the rest of us (a VAST MAJORITY) that your way of life is the “normal” way of life. Try to get it, WE ARE THE MAJORITY AND WITH THE 2SLGBTQ1A+++ being unable, in themselves, to procreate – we will remain the majority. Get used to it!

    • Rick Ponts February 19, 2025 at 19:46

Ah, the classic ‘let’s control what other people do with their lives’ argument. It’s always fascinating when people think inclusivity is somehow a threat rather than, you know, basic human decency. Here’s the deal: LGBTQ+ people existing isn’t an attack on anyone—just like left-handed people writing with their left hand isn’t a personal offense to right-handed folks.

As for kids and grandkids, teaching them the truth means showing them a world where people are free to be themselves without fear or shame. Because, spoiler alert: LGBTQ+ people have always existed, and pretending otherwise is like trying to ban gravity—it just doesn’t work.

So instead of fighting progress, maybe try embracing the fact that love and identity aren’t threats, but intolerance is. History doesn’t look kindly on those who stood in the way of equality. Just some food for thought, Charles.

  42. Trumpflation February 17, 2025 at 14:20

Trump supporters prefer the traitorous Confederate flag or swastikas.

How do you like them Trumpflation eggs? $12 a dozen.

    • John February 20, 2025 at 08:26

I doubt if you could pick out the confederate flag OR draw a real swastika and know it’s origins. And “Trumpflation?” You do know that it was under the “Robinette” administration that “Trumpflation” began. Strange right? And since you are lacking, you can still eat the eggs from “diseased birds.” Cooking them (eggs/chickens) kill the bird flu. That’s not hearsay, that’s science.

  43. Randle Simon February 16, 2025 at 18:05

Un-necessary policy, you must be afraid of something.

    • Toni February 18, 2025 at 12:40

Exactly, narcissism at their best. The problem is you can’t get rid of what they think the problem is. There’s something bigger in play here.

  44. Mike crotch February 15, 2025 at 10:03

All I hear in the comments are fragile little white betas who are afraid of change and that there are ppl who don’t look like you.

    Cry more

  45. John E. Dillard, Sr. Evangelist February 14, 2025 at 10:43

Thank God. The WOKE is gone. Thank you Director Collins and President Trump! Now return the original motto to the VA which was changed by the past WOKE administration. Will the LBGTQ clinics be done away with too? That’s a waist of VA budget money.

    • Dave Estes February 15, 2025 at 17:06

Please define the term woke. Wouldn’t it be a waste instead of a waist?

      • Toni February 18, 2025 at 12:43

      • John February 20, 2025 at 08:29

Depends on who you think is getting fatter from the policies. right?

      • John E. Dillard, Sr. Evangelist February 23, 2025 at 11:37

WOKE is a view of reality so skewed and so far out of focus that those who believe in it is blind. WOKE is lies of those who want to rewrite the past to a line with a fake future!!!! WOKE is an ideology that is a cornerstone to building a house of stupidity that will never stand!!! WOKE is pushing an agenda of wrong on those who know what right is!!! If you believe that a man can change his sex, you are WOKE to stupidity. If you believe that the gay agenda should be pushed on every man , woman and child you are WOKE!!!! If you believe that children of any age should be indoctrinated into believing that they were born the wrong sex. That’s WOKE. CRT is WOKE. DEI is WOKE. DEI stands for DID NOT EARN IT!!!! Just understand that there are people in their right minds that will not drink this kool-aid :)

      • John E. Dillard, Sr. Evangelist February 25, 2025 at 19:05

No I spelled it correctly. Waist. As in tightening the belt of waste spending

    • Trumpflation February 17, 2025 at 14:19

Hey MAGA chud. Define woke. While you are at it, how do you like that Trumpflation? $12 eggs, $6 gas. Millions unemployed thanks to President Musk and 1st lady Chump.

      • Kenneth Breeden February 23, 2025 at 15:32

I am sure glad I don’t live where you live. Eggs where I live are $4 per dozen and gas is $2.59 per gallon. President Trump has been in office for 1 month. There are none so blind as those that will not see. Have a great day.

    • Toni February 18, 2025 at 12:42

The woke has always been here and it will always be here. You guys just put a label on it. It has been all around you all this time and it wasn’t talk about it wasn’t spoke of because it was just becoming society becoming natural. Just because you don’t agree with it does it mean it’s not going to happen. There are trust me as many people that you think don’t like the word woke or what woke is, They probably don’t like you and your way of living neither.

    • Rick Pont February 19, 2025 at 19:49

Ah, ‘woke’—the favorite buzzword of people who get upset when society acknowledges that others exist. It’s fascinating how investing in healthcare for LGBTQ+ veterans—who, by the way, have served and sacrificed just like everyone else—is somehow seen as a ‘waste’ but funding other specialized care isn’t. Do you also oppose PTSD treatment? Prosthetics for amputees? Care for women veterans? Or is it just when it benefits people you personally don’t understand?

Here’s a wild idea: instead of worrying about who gets medical care, maybe focus on ensuring all veterans, regardless of identity, receive the support they earned. Because patriotism isn’t about excluding people—it’s about honoring service, period.

      Take care, John :)

      • John E. Dillard, Sr. Evangelist February 23, 2025 at 12:06

Rick, I remember when I served that gays were allowed in the military because of what we have today, a military divided. A military that other countries do not respect. I remember when our VA did not have a LBGTQ RSTUV clinic. Why??? because if you were gay you kept it to yourself and stayed silent. Why!! Because it is against GODS Law. It’s un-natural. Any country throughout history that did not have God to go before them into battle did not win the war. Women stayed home and reared the children and worked in factories to support the war effort. Women were not allowed on combat. Why??? Because a country needs mother’s for the next generation to be born. Not all men went to war. They served in other ways here stateside. We were a country united with God first. That’s how my grandfathers generation won WW2. I believe in that kind of country for us. Not the one that is here and now. I do care for all veterans. I just don’t believe in the gay agenda that is being pushed and shoved into this nations face.
Take care, Rick and God Bless

    • Tom Graydon February 19, 2025 at 21:21

      Shame on you.

  46. Jared February 14, 2025 at 07:52

The comfortable nature and wording of this disgusting email is truly astounding “sir”. You clearly are lying when you say all veterans are welcome at the VA as your new policy is clearly stating. You bend the knee so willingly to Trump, you may want to revisit your fcking oath. We defend this nation from adversaries both foreign and Domestic.

  47. act February 13, 2025 at 22:18

    As it should be.

    • Toni February 18, 2025 at 12:45

No not as it should be, we are the United States of America we represent all people in every sex, gender, faith, and whoever cares about what’s between someone else’s legs. We are free nation, we have a constitution we have a Bill of Rights and gosh damn it We fought for them for how many decades and we’re still here. No absolutely not “as it should be.”

  48. Stephen Roe Puckett February 13, 2025 at 20:29

Thank You for a wonderful, common sense policy !!!!

Common sense went out the window on November 5th, I think it’s already been proven that. Verge of world war 3, ending relations with European continent. Thousands lost their jobs already, inflation is going up still, gas prices are going up. Immigrants are no longer going through the southern border they’re coming through the northern border. Fentanyl coming into the United States has went up 40% because now they’re taking it through the northern border. The oldest countries in the world are laughing at us. Yeah common sense keep telling yourself that.

  49. A February 13, 2025 at 19:29

Thank goodness! I was recently complaining about this very thing. I don’t care to see every flag of every group out there. Also, issue with worn-out American flags displayed flying high.

    • Cynthia Miller February 19, 2025 at 10:44

People should stop complaining and see our society as it is–all inclusive!! Stop trying to control people with your own idiosyncrasies. This policy is not about any flag.

  50. Edward February 13, 2025 at 17:32

Just cause Trump hasn’t came out the closet yet, don’t mean he – she , should punish everyone else!
