I have been righting my/our “representatives” with many issues and this was one about not having a catalogue so to speak about benefits and services and programs that are out there to help Veterans find these resources and programs. I just learned of it today for an email from my login.gov account access of some services and such which I only got signed up and learned about that last year. I’ve been a disabled vet for 20 years constantly struggled with little to no help due not having the information and access. I only recently learned how different the medical care at my local out patient clinic from 20 years ago is now. Night and day difference. I have felt like nothing but an insurance card to exploit since my own personal experiences with doctors these past 20 years both at the VA and in the Private sector and until I recently went back to the clinic to update my ID only to feel the difference in service.
I have an idea for a simple app that would notify a caregiver if a subscriber needs help. specifically, if a subscriber doesn’t answer a text, a message would automatically be sent to a friend to check on the subscriber. I need help in developing and distributing the app.
Hi. How can this help my dad when the military lost most of his records before 1971???
How incredibly frustrating — especially knowing your dad served, only to have critical records lost.
One of the strengths of the MyVetBENEFITS app is that it doesn’t solely match users to VA and government-run benefits (which can sometimes require extensive documentation), but also includes a wide range of benefits and services offered by Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs), nonprofits, and community programs. Many of these organizations offer support without the same stringent proof-of-service requirements.
Your dad may still be eligible for valuable assistance, resources, and benefits — even without a complete record — and our app is designed to help uncover those opportunities.
Wishing you and your dad the very best,
– The MyVetBENEFITS Team
I have been in a great mental dilemma for years over the way the VA has neglected me. This app. will definitely be a relief for me.
PLEASE FORWORD TO MY E-MAIL
FYI I just downloaded the app to see and Guard and Reserve vets are not in the list so don’t waste your time if retired from National Guard or the Reserves, all other branches are listed
Hi Pam, thanks for checking out the app and for your feedback. Just to clarify, we absolutely do include benefits for Guard and Reserve members and Veterans. If you’re currently serving, you can select “Guard” or “Reserve” under Service Status. If you’re a Veteran or Retiree, there’s a toggle on the Service Background screen where you can indicate that you served in the Guard or Reserve.
We’d love for you to give it another look — and if you have any trouble or questions, feel free to reach out to us anytime at info@myvetbenefits.com. We’re here to help!
I’ve tried five times to get my VA compensation benefits and they keep going the other way and mixing it up with the pension and I’m at the point I may have cancer and I got all kinds of things wrong with me and I would love to have some help with that as soon as I could get it
