Each year, VA joins the nation to observe and celebrate National Volunteer Week, which occurs this year on April 20 – 26, 2025. As part of this special week, join us in supporting a National Day of Service through “VetServe 2025,” a campaign to strengthen volunteer capacity across the nation on April 23, 2025.
This special observance highlights the tremendous impact volunteers make in Veterans’ lives. Your time and dedication can make a lasting difference in the lives of those who have served our nation.
VetServe 2025 brings together volunteers, Veteran Service Organizations, community leaders and VA staff in a synchronized day of service across all 50 states. From maintaining Veterans’ memorials to organizing resource fairs and providing home repairs for disabled Veterans, participants are making a tangible difference in Veterans’ lives.
Join VA in supporting a National Day of Service, April 23, 2025. VetServe is a celebration of service and a call-to-action aimed to encourage the nation’s 19 million Veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors to serve in their community.
If your organization has volunteer opportunities, please submit them using the Volunteer Directory.
Organizations are encouraged to visit RallyPoint and Together We Served to post opportunities, share success stories and outcomes of successful Veteran volunteer service in the community.

I do not see a link to where one might find volunteer opportunities. Can you provide one? I am in the Chico, California area. Thanks.
I’m a Vietnam-Era Veteran and each time I reach out to help friends or recently I tried to open a Veteran owned business with the correct credentials in place, but I keep getting ripped off. Is there a legal assistance program anywhere within all of these V. A. Programs that can help veterans try to recover from these types of losses?
I volunteer with the Southern Oklahoma Senior Nutrition Program all year round. We make a hot meal for senior each day of the week. We also make the meals for meals on wheels and deliver them. I definitely believe in volunteering.
I wish to volunteer, but I cannot find where to fill out the information or where to get additional information.
I’ll volunteer!
Thank you ;
In today’s DOGE – “get rid of people,” Why would anyone want to volunteer?
VA gets rid of employees, then tries to recruit volunteers to backfill duties employees once performed?
That takes overwhelming arrogance and hubris!!!!
The link for where one might volunteer doesn’t have any of that info
Will there ever be a job event for veteran wives. Or any careers that veteran wives can participate in and helping their communities. I think that veteran wives should be able to attend events so that they can further their careers. Thank you.
This is very unhelpful for those of us that do not use this to communicate. This is absolutely unacceptable and a slap in the face to everyone wanting to TALK to a person!
Want to volunteer
Hope to God that the Veterans Health Care Administration gets shut done and VA healthcare will be privatized. Much less government waste, fraud and negligence to our most valuable citizens who took the fight to the enemy and answered the call. Let’s save our country/taxpayers money and improve the health of millions of vulnerable Veterans. No more 22 a day!
First, after serving for ten years and deploying three times when do I get to consider my time “served”.
Second, this is vets volunteering to help vets to honor vets that have been helped by other volunteer vets. Am I missing something here or is this just more circular VA logic.
How about volunteering to fix the VA. Or volunteering to fix the community care process so that vets can get access to care that they desperately need.
This. So much. This.
I have a small roof leak. could use some help.

The links for the Volunteer Site and Rally aren’t working for the VA Day of Service. I would be interested if you can update and fix them. Thank you.
