The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Combat Tested Gaming community is bringing together Veterans, active duty personnel and the gaming world. The community fosters camaraderie, friendly competition and emotional support, providing a space for mental well-being and the opportunity to learn more about Veterans benefits.
In its fifth season of official league play, Combat Tested Gaming will focus on the popular online game “Rocket League.” The events aren’t just about competition; they’re about creating a strong sense of community. Players from all branches, including Veterans, active duty members, reservists and National Guard are all invited to compete.
Registration for Combat Tested Gaming is free and ends April 26. The league starts April 30, with games taking place every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. CDT/ 8:30 p.m. EDT. The league runs through June 4, with the last week being dedicated to the final league championship tournament.
For this upcoming season, VFW is teaming up with Omnic.ai to provide AI-powered coaching sessions for free. In addition to the leagues, VFW’s gaming initiative provides an avenue for Veterans to connect with each other and access important resources, including health care and benefits information. The combination of leisure and service creates an accessible, supportive environment for all involved, making it easier for Veterans to address their needs while building relationships with fellow service members.
In addition to the official Rocket League competition, the Combat Tested Gaming community features players across a wide spectrum, from tabletop games to realistic military simulators and everything in between. All you need to do is join the Discord channel to find someone who likes the same games that you do.
Whether you’re looking to compete, build friendships or seek guidance on your benefits, VFW’s Combat Tested Gaming is fostering a community that embraces all aspects of military life—both online and offline. With weekly game nights featuring a variety of different games, league play, giveaways and Q&A sessions with subject matter experts, Combat Tested Gaming keeps it fresh with new content every week. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this exciting initiative.
