It’s hard getting on line va pharmacy and va pay

  2. keith watkin September 24, 2025 at 21:01

I am having difficulty downloading the travel claims app to my phone. Would it be possible to use my computer to send my claims? Otherwise, I will continue to use the paper form to send to Community Care.

  3. Timm Reeser September 24, 2025 at 10:59

I have a lot of of them and still haven’t received them yet

  4. Timm Reeser September 24, 2025 at 10:59

I have a lot of of them that haven’t been sent to me. I haven’t received them.

Still can’t not navigate travel app

  6. Joseph Cunningham September 23, 2025 at 15:32

I read some of what has been said. I am 70% disable and have filled out paper, on my phone and on the computer at the VA and haven received nothing. A Lady help me and the next morning got the same message incomplete. Did not say what was complete. I received a letter stating need my bank information. I filled the form out and was advised need previous bank information. They said I needed the information and was advised that I did not have that information due we have done business with them for years. They said that they needed that information.

Would be great if I knew what to do

  8. Dawn Culver September 22, 2025 at 10:11

I will get on the BTSSS system to put in travel and I am not able to see my current home VA. My program jumps back in time to my last or rather first home VA.
IE: my 1st VA was Dallas.
My second was San Antonio and now I’m completely out of state. When I attempted to put in my travel claim, my current VA doesn’t come up in the paying VA slot, instead Dallas and any subsequent VA, or CBOC’s come up. I have continued having this problem. Is there anything y’all can do to get this worked out, for me and my military Veteran family.

  9. Doug bruce September 22, 2025 at 07:58

I also always. Use the paper form at university drive. It is 42 miles one way and have tolls. I have no way of checking for compensation for milage. The tolls can’t be proven with out paper receipt. Which turnpike won’t provide unless you pay 4.00 a copy thereby negating 3/4 of the reimbursement.

  10. Alfred McIntosh September 22, 2025 at 02:32

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten my reimbursement payment.

  11. Michael Cronin September 20, 2025 at 12:05

problem is, I don’t have a phone myself, me and my wife use the same phone, PLUS, if I have to go to community care appointments, they are not listed as appointments, PLUS if I have to go to the emergency room, those visits are not listed as appointments, PLUS most of the claims that I have submitted on line at the BTSSS site have not been paid, I have sent several e mails to ask why and I only get a story about there is only one person working on the entire state of Maine veteran claims, and that I should be patient, well it’s been 6 months and still no claim payment, meanwhile when I get prescriptions on line, they send me a bill within two weeks, so it seems their collection department is really up to speed, and their honoring veteran benefits is way behind and lacking,

  12. Melvin Drumwrightsr September 20, 2025 at 11:35

I have a login.gov but on the mobile phone it has a old phone number and I need to delete the old phone number

  13. CLARENCE JACKSON September 20, 2025 at 09:02

I love the VA would not make it without you

  14. Richard Heinzeroth September 19, 2025 at 17:10

I have submitted a few travel reimbursements for service connected disability and only ever received reimbursement one time. So I quit submitting them whenever I had to travel from Rockford to Madison for hearing related problems.

    • King Fisch September 21, 2025 at 16:45

If you have a disability rating 30% or higher you are reimbursed for travel.. round trip. If you didn’t ask or challenge, that’s nuts! I see Rockford to Madison round trip at about 150 miles. At $.415/mile you are throwing away about $60 for each VA appt. WTF?

  15. Abel September 19, 2025 at 16:27

I filled out 3 travel remisberment at va in sepulvada but never received my pay

  16. Michael Zietz September 19, 2025 at 07:58

Unfortunately you have to be 30% disabled to submit a Travel reimbursement form. My veteran status is not enough to get travel reimbursement.

  17. Steve piccinati September 18, 2025 at 21:42

I have been submitting travel voucher forms for over 2 years and have never been reimbursed for any of them!!!

  18. Wally Nichols September 18, 2025 at 16:56

I’ve had at least 20 that were never paid using paper method. Looking at these comments I don’t think I’ll try this new easy method. I don’t even try any more. Not worth the aggrevation…

    • King Fisch September 21, 2025 at 16:49

There is no “aggravation.” If you have 30+% disability rating and file within 30 days, you are good for the $.415/mile travel pay. From personal experience, submitting via the app or via the VA website gets you paid within days. Whereas, I was told that submitting by paper would be delayed due to backlog. My last ones submitted by paper in March were finally paid in June. I will always use the digital online version from now on!!

  19. Anthony Grado September 18, 2025 at 16:46

san francisco va travel dept. I know their busy and probably short handed . At least three months behind for claims. I would submit over phone but I have bridge tolls..

  20. B Nelson September 18, 2025 at 14:12

The current t system is the. Worst !it takes weeks and months !!!
And no waY to check if you even were. Compensated !!!!

    • Enrique Ortiz Adorno September 23, 2025 at 11:57

Tengo mucho pagos de pasajes pendiente y no me los an pagado

  21. Mark Riffle September 18, 2025 at 09:40

I filed travel claims for physical therapy at the VA North facility 145 Heron Bay, Jacksonville, Fl from April 9, 2024 thru May 14th 2024.

I checked the letter from my first appointment that stated a partial payment was made for $2.48 because there was a closer facility.

Fact #1. There is not a physical therapy facility in the VA that is closer than the 145 Heron Bay Rd.
Fact #2. I have not received and reimbursement for my travel.
Fact #3. It is a 31 mile trip one way to the VA site.

Please call me regarding where the payment was deposited, because I do not believe you have my correct banking information even though I receive my disability check every month to my banking account. Also, please advise why a partial payment when there is not a closer facility for physical therapy.

    Respectfully,

    Mark Riffle

    • Tessa September 20, 2025 at 01:45

If I recall the disability direct deposit does update travel claims direct deposit. You need to log into BTSSS or call travel and make sure your banking information is correct. Also in BTSSS it will show if your claims have been denied, partial, In manual review or paid.

  22. Jessica Sands September 18, 2025 at 06:09

I have not received travel pay from appts I have submitted the paper form for for sure none in 2025 maybe longer.

  23. Gary Wilson September 17, 2025 at 23:31

I go to Mather VA and the app has never worked to submit it. Has that been fixed.

  24. Larry Cotten September 17, 2025 at 18:32

Don’t know how I’d get paid when I didn’t get paid for all year last year on many visits I filled out up there !

  25. Manuel lugo September 17, 2025 at 17:24

I have been submitting travel voucher forms for over 2 years and have never been reimbursed for any of them

  26. Francisco Trujillo September 17, 2025 at 17:12

Takes a long time for reimberstment and the new way don’t allow you to claim round trips only one way.

  27. Caron Bailey September 17, 2025 at 16:40

I’m still waiting for my Travel pay and have not heard from them yet so I’m waiting for my Travel paycheck!!! It’s been too long and still no response yet ?

    • Richard Heinzeroth September 19, 2025 at 17:16

I sent 4-5 requests for travel pay for Army related loss of hearing. Received 1 payment 1 time. I quit sending the in.

  28. Dale Doane September 17, 2025 at 16:34

How do I know if my claim went through

  29. Thomas Adams September 17, 2025 at 15:21

I had a doctors appointment in Akron, Ohio and I never did get the travel pay. I forget the date, but it’s on record. That was before I had my operation. I had the operation here in Cleveland at the Lewis Stokes Center..

  30. Michael September 17, 2025 at 14:07

I checked the status of my claim . Called the travel office VA Loma Linda . When I asked why my claim has not been approved the VA representative told me they are working on claims on July 22nd . Today is September 17th . The VA is completely incompetent. I have never had a travel claim take this long .

    • Jerry Van Dyke September 17, 2025 at 19:04

I t is taking so long , because of all the layoffs by the trump administration.. and more to come, they don’t give a rats ass about us veterans… wait until they start cutting benefits… and they will.

  31. Leon Johnson September 17, 2025 at 13:52

I came to the scheduled appointment that I received a postcard about just last week and when I got there they said it was canceled by the clinic but I did travel all the way to the clinic since I did not get noticed at the cancellation. Also I needed to pick up my DMV VA eye exam report.

  32. Michael Foth September 17, 2025 at 13:51

You can get reimbursed for community care. Those addresses should be on the place where you fill it in. I can’t find it anywhere on this app and there’s no way to ask a question or no one of those things to find something but you have to verify that you went to that appointment. I know the contractor has to, but you have to also for some reason because they don’t probably trust you that’s projection by the way, so you have to wait till you get your form from the contractor that said you know you’re not statement of charges whatever that is EOB explanation of benefits make a copy of that and send it in but make sure that you file immediately Within the first month and then you have a year to turn in the explanation of benefits. I found that out the hard way the expensive way. And only because there was a human being that answered the phone wherever the travel center is she was so nice and so is most people at the VA. But I sure don’t see any travel pay option on this app.

  33. Michael Foth September 17, 2025 at 13:47

Where is it on the app?

  34. Michael Foth September 17, 2025 at 13:46

I cannot find that on the mobile app

  35. Truth teller September 17, 2025 at 13:36

Keep being denied my travel pay since 2021, the VA just keeps proving how much they actually hate veterans. The number of suicides has increased over 6000 annually since 2021, half of which occuring on VA grounds. THIS is why they are now wasting money for security, so they can’t be the target of responsibility when it doesn’t happen on VA grounds, they can just claim mental issues. The VA IS THE MENTAL ISSUE.

  36. Lani September 17, 2025 at 13:26

There was a kiosk that did travel in Hawaii. So we went to appointment and submitted travel “electronically”. No human denial or error!

We liked it because we got paid fast, less than a week. Then it was removed … maybe because it worked too good.

It did what it was supposed to do, IT PAID VETERANS TRAVEL.

I request virtual or video ? appointments as much as possible.
I can’t remember to file travel pay on time because of my TBI.
I can’t drive and taxis are expensive.

Bring the kiosk back that I can check in for appointment and process travel pay together.

We get appointment “text” reminders and whether we attended the appointment.

Why not give us a text notification so VA can process travel pay, too!

There are aibots out there to assist with the programming because VA alone is too slow. One of the posts said their spouse died in 2024 and travel wasn’t processed.

Irony … we fought for our country and now we’re fighting our country because we served.

Definitely looking forward to the day of peace ✌️ ? ? ?

  37. Mardi September 17, 2025 at 12:53

Call the VA HOTLINE CALL the VA HOTLINE (855) 948-2311 and DEMAND the VA MATCH the fed mileage reimbursement rate of $.71 a mile vs the $.40 a mile they “allow” us! Like our vehicles somehow require less maintenance and fuel expenses per mile than theirs!

Then open ANOTHER ticket DEMANDING the 30 day submission or you’re screwed be CHANGED TO 120 days. This is another way they screw you by missing a zero need deadline.

Then OPEN ANOTHER TICKET regarding the $6 deductible sucked out of our reimbursement!!! WTF?!!!!!! Where is that money going and why are WE PAYING FOR IT?!!!!

  38. Mardi September 17, 2025 at 12:47

CALL the VA HOTLINE (855) 948-2311 and light them up with endless tickets regarding you Travel problems because OBVIOUSLY THE VA DOES NOT MOVE until such a MASSIVE WAVE of tickets are CRASHING their walls

  39. Lani September 17, 2025 at 12:45

This is fake news. In Hawaii mileage claims are denied because there is an additional form.
I even tried to save the government money by going to two different appointments ear doctor and then foot doctor which was 12 miles apart and then I went home. It was denied because only one travel pay paid per day.

    WOW!!!! Is anybody listening!!!
Check out all the posts below mines. 50 years later and veterans still suffering.

    Paper still pushing ?
    Hurry up and wait ✋️

  40. Cantrell September 17, 2025 at 12:38

The VA or government bureaucracy manage to ruin travel pay to US veterans. It used to be if you go to the VA after your appointment you go to a line that pays you for your travel. Sometime the line was long and you had to wait a while but at least you got paid on the same day you went to your appointment. Now I go to outside Thorntons because they are much more trustworthy and honorable but VA still refuses to pay. I mowed over $1,000 in travel pay which I’m sure I will never see. Now I get an update saying there’s a new app for travel and of course it doesn’t work. They just want to make it difficult for us to get travel pay so they don’t have to pay it. This is a major violation in my opinion. Somebody really needs to do something about it.

  41. Edward D Flores Jr September 17, 2025 at 12:35

I liked all of the comments, they are all true, Pete H and Donald Trump need to fix the VA totally Starting with the COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, hiring people that speak plain English when they are on the phone with a VETERAN, by the time you get to who ever you are trying to reach you could be DEAD! I’m serious! The communication system sucks, I could do better with the knowledge I received in the US Army for 23years!

  42. Oconnell Suzanne September 17, 2025 at 11:31

I have been cheated of my travel pay for years – i gave us which is what i figured they wanted everyone who doesn’t have a bookkeeper or private accountant!

  43. Gilford Edward Litton September 17, 2025 at 11:11

    What about toals

  44. Mardi September 17, 2025 at 10:59

Don’t bother wasting your time calling the number that they have above it’s just another dead end they take a note they make a ticket they justify their existence and then they close the action with nothing occurring so you basically waste your time.

  45. Charles Harris September 17, 2025 at 10:29

I have not been receiving my travel pay over the last 2 years I. Submit when I go to the VA the paperwork. Nothing’s coming into me.

  46. Michael Davis September 17, 2025 at 10:26

Why does the VA make it so hard and time consuming?
I was expedited to Vietnam and then to Laos.
I filled out no papers for this.
I filled out no papers when I carried an M-16 or M-60 machine gun.
I received little to no co.pensation for medical help after coming home from 2 types of Malaria and dental catastrophe.
The Veterans Administration has every bit of information it needs to compensate travel pay. But the VA wants me to spend my last days or hours or minutes filling out data forms.
I was hit by an SUV while riding my bicycle 3 years ago.
The VA charged me for way over the SUV’s insurance payout for my care.
My body is damned ruined and lawyers and doctors make a killing over my injuries.
I couldn’t get proper imaging at the Salisbury VA.
    The VA is a disgrace.
I am ready to transition to the next life.
The VA has not treated me well in these regards.

    • Mardi September 17, 2025 at 12:59

It’s not health care, it’s about keeping them employed and you are the vehicle to ensuring it. The VA would build a whole hospital to keep themselves getting paid if they could only find a way to keep you alive indefinitely

Remember when DOGE found countless people collecting social security that were 150+ years old? I have no doubt they’re all on respirators and endless tubes to appear to be alive as their SS checks are going into some hidden government coffer or congressional slush fund aka grab bag

  47. Mabis, Harvey V. September 16, 2025 at 22:02

This new app is JUNK!! I downloaded this app on my android phone and all I get is a BLANK SCREEN???? And you call this new technology and is this really the VA, the number is not a VA number

  48. Duane Beckemeyer September 16, 2025 at 21:58

What about credits for tolls for bridges?

  49. George Arnold September 16, 2025 at 17:05

Well your video didnt teach me anything.
I dont know how to do anything it mentioned & since i havent been pad for my last 11 visits, i just assume they quit paying

    • Monica Rice September 17, 2025 at 08:18

Me too! They take way too long to pay us for our travel pay. It’s so ridiculous. I need the gas money replaced now not a month or two or more from now. Gas is expensive and I love very far away from the nearest VA Hospital. They used to have a place right in the building where you coils go and get your money right after your appointments but now you are lucky if you get reimbursed at all.

    • Bob Dorgan September 17, 2025 at 13:39

For 5 years I have tried to get travel pay and never have got it from Eaton Indiana to Marion Indiana, a total of 15 trips Robert Dorgan. Why

  50. Stephen September 16, 2025 at 15:04

As a 100% t p disabled veteran who had authorized back surgery in May, this system has denied 3 out of 4 of my travel claims from the actual surgery to the follow appointments.
The last travel claim they denied earlier this week literally listed me as having attended the scheduled appointment for follow up that was authorized, submitting it in time, and denied it for completely contradicting reasons.
It translated you’re eligible, were authorized, and did the form correctly and on time, but were denying it because we really don’t want to pay it.
The form to appeal, 5 or 6 pages long and to me mentally taxing.
The va travel claims should be investigated for cheating veterans out of pay they earned.

  51. Jerry sorter September 16, 2025 at 14:47

    How do i get paid

    • Mardi September 17, 2025 at 10:47

      You don’t, only congress does

  52. Jerry sorter September 16, 2025 at 14:45

    Travel time

  53. Paul Snyder September 16, 2025 at 14:23

I only see VA facilities in the app. Is it possible to claim community care travel claims in the app?

    • Michael Foth September 17, 2025 at 13:49

Yes, it is. You can put in your address and you want of a provider. I was not getting mine and having them rejected, but then I found out that you have to send proof like a copy of your whatever that is we get from the civilian contractor who’s doing that Statement of charges or whatever that’s called but I haven’t gotten one for the last two outside visits that I have

  54. Doug September 16, 2025 at 14:19

This is a f’n JOKE played by you yuppies …
Give me cash at the VA … like B – 4 THE COMMUNIST IDIOLOGY INFILTRADED THE ENTIRE va hospitalization SOCIAL EXPERIMENT LIKE THE AIR GUNS THAT INFECTEX ME FOR 47 YEARS
IM A WEDLOR not a teck guy …
if you owe your illegal PSILISYBEN GROWER TO TRAVEL/ YOU GIVE TRAVEL TO certain veterans but not ALL OF US … during the VIETNAM WAR THAT ACT IS CALLED PREJUDICE … thanks for nothing uncle, well done LOSERS

    • John H September 16, 2025 at 20:18

This is NOT a joke. And calling hard working VA personnel names during a nonsensical rant doesn’t the system, you, or other veterans.

      • Mardi September 17, 2025 at 10:35

You’re obviously a fed cuck that licks your master’s heels for paltry scraps and a pay on the head. The plantation is full of pathetic obedient simps that love servitude without questioning brokenness. You’re no one’s den mother and we don’t need you as a self appointed white knight in your 3 day old Depends trying to play virtual hall monitor. Now go get yourself cleaned up and get down to the clinic for 3 more Covid pokes (aka sacraments)

      • Mardi September 17, 2025 at 10:44

Hard working lmao. Must be a fed licker of the split cheeks yourself

  55. William A. Lucas September 16, 2025 at 14:16

How do you submit for travel with Community Care authorized appointments referred by the VA?

    • Mardi September 17, 2025 at 10:42

And don’t waste your time they’re going to deny it anyway, even though you have all the certifiable proof, they deny mine endlessly I have yet to have one that I’ve gone through without countless receipts attached sent in end clearly marked, including phone numbers of the provider, the VA authorization number and all It’s a completely broken system built solely as an adult daycare for the most inept of society to work at the VA . Unfortunately, there are those 10% within the VA that are holding things together the rest of them all need to be fired for their apathy and ineptitude.

[Editor: There are two links in the first paragraph, and there are two more in the last sentence.]

  60. Philip Steward September 16, 2025 at 12:57

While this is good for actual VA facility appointments, it does not help for travel pay for COMMUNITY CARE appointments. Although it is only supposed to take 10 business days I am at 24 days with claims in “Manuel Review” and still no pay. Switching to national processing has not helped.

  61. Stinsonhead September 16, 2025 at 12:50

I would like my travel pay faster

    • Mardi September 17, 2025 at 13:01

I’d like to see 80% of the deadbeats in the VA fired. Wanna see which one of us gets our wish granted first? Lmao

  62. Christina Hutson September 16, 2025 at 12:33

It would make things alot easier for everyone if you could submit travel faster like we had before.

  69. Teril D Baskett September 16, 2025 at 11:34

Yes I was cheated out for the past two years going to the VA Wellness Center, Montgomery AL. My claims never were processed. I kept checking only to hear that they were backlogged just give us some time. Community Care sent me to the standing appointment. I would process a month at a time just gave up on it. They need a kiosk machine for people to process the travel when they checked in.

I have SEVERAL “under review” BTSSS claims that are over 45 days not paid.

Even credit card companies charge for late payments. Why is the VA exempt from being responsible?

  76. Karen Mitchell September 16, 2025 at 10:33

How do I submit a community Care appointment for travel pay?

    • James l Fields September 17, 2025 at 11:42

Yes I would like to get my travel pay earlier

  77. M September 16, 2025 at 10:21

This is all a scam from the travel dept, I was involved in a tractor trailer collision and was hoisebound except for my physical therapy appts and many, many other appts, travel did not cover any of them for 5 yrs, I lost about $6k in travel reimbursement if not more, when I went to the VA travel dept and brought all my visits with notes showing that I attended all these appts they told me I can’t get paid, one person at the window told ne to fuck off!!!

  78. Mikeal September 15, 2025 at 22:07

This is all BS. You have to go through hoops and hurdles and get lucky to find the site to submit any any type of paperwork like community care, on your website none of that is user-friendly. Nothing is easier at all in my area they are more than 6 months behind (Houston, Tx) that they are throwing away peoples travel paperwork just so they can catch up faster. I know this because I cave not been getting none of my travel at all. GO BACK TO JUST GIVING US CASH AT THE VA CLINIC’S OR HOSPITALS.

    • Victor September 16, 2025 at 13:43

Reimbursement. Is this travel pay only for disabled vets

    • Mardi September 17, 2025 at 13:08

Hahahahaha, you do know the dolts working the travel windows can barely count the digits on their hands and you want them to hands funds? Good luck with that

  79. Danny J Walker September 15, 2025 at 08:15

Sounds good, however not effective for community care which travel from view point is totally broken. Have been using approximately 18 months I get confirmation from the appointment office was completed. Then attempt to call my travel office no answer, no fax number, however it was in my BTSSS and always denied if I create a claim.

  80. Darwin Aho September 14, 2025 at 21:30

I can find my August 28 appointment, but there is nothing there about claiming mileage. I guess VA is hoping I’ll give up and exceed the 30 day limit so they don’t have to pay. VA never makes anything easier!

  81. Nichole September 14, 2025 at 08:35

I tried this but it does not work for Community Care appointments and does this mean we don’t have to submit a doctors note saying we attended anymore?

  82. Mohammad AbdulAziz September 14, 2025 at 05:41

This is a valuable tool for veterans who can get their Travel Pay easier than submitting paper work that will take weeks to process. Thank you.

  83. Bruce W Nelson September 13, 2025 at 18:28

A much needed improvement for the traveling veterans!
Three months delay in reimbursement is absurd!
Short travel reimbursement is not worth the time and effort!?!?
Thank you for trying to help us aging veterans!

  84. Michael Anthony Johnson September 13, 2025 at 03:18

This is a wonderful idea. Thanks for making life simpler.

    • Dorothy Wilthma Brandenburg September 16, 2025 at 20:21

I have an appointment this coming Tuesday at Michael DeBakey in Houston & it was much easier to go to the window & turn it in! And they figure it up & just hand you your cash! That was the best way! I was born in 1948! And we use paper & we use paper & pencil not all of this computer stuff! So Tuesday I’ll stop by travel paid & talk with THEM! We’ll see what’s faster! It takes VA 30 days to pay us but that don’t help us it help the administration so you can whole on that money longer! But America say that appreciate our VETERANS! MAKE YOU WONDRR BECAUSE YOU ALWAYS CHANGE THINGS!

  85. Ingrid Acacia Blackwell September 12, 2025 at 17:55

I take public transportation (bus) to all my appointments at the VA. But when I put in for travel it says I am not excepted. So I am confused on this. Ned help with this.

  86. Richard A. Neptune September 12, 2025 at 16:13

I am researching this on a kindle fire, not a “smart” phone. Why must I have a mobile “stupid phone” to access this benefit?

    • William Price September 14, 2025 at 09:26

Is this just another BS computer game some college kid came up with to make us old veterans feel even more worthless If so I thank you again Guess I’ll continue to use snail mail 10-3542

  87. Terry Austin September 12, 2025 at 15:08

I don’t understand why we don’t get more because my gas cost over 4.00 dollars a gallon, it runs on premium gas

    • William Price September 14, 2025 at 09:27

That’s the main reasonn I voted for who I did I expected the fuel prices to drop As he did first election Guess he owns some fuel companies now

  89. Vernon r Norman September 12, 2025 at 14:32

Ok I was sent to a outside doctor for about around 6 month but I look into this no one know I can I get paid for the travel. Now I when to VA in Jacksonville fl. A told me to put it on my travel paperwork. But nothing happened. So can you help

    • Raymond Jarrett Leeth September 12, 2025 at 16:26

I’m not quite qualified yet but I am permanently disabled by SSDI and live over 40 miles one way

    • S Cort September 12, 2025 at 18:00

This only works with VA appointments. It does not work for Community Care appointments. For me, it is kinda worthless since I only go into my facility twice a year. I don’t have a VA facility near me so I am dependent on Community Care.

  90. Robert W. Johnson September 12, 2025 at 14:22

How do you expect an 88 year old to fixture out how to submit for Travel pay

    • William Price September 14, 2025 at 09:12

Now Brother you have ask a very deep and dark question I too am an old veteran and these people act as though everyone plays computer games or something

    • Randy Logsdon September 12, 2025 at 21:24

Yup! You forgot to add for in CONUS VA travel only. I’m in the Philippines. Your app is useless. Why does the VA use such loose words? Why is it XPATS cannot receive travel pay for any related VA travel? Why do you need the personal info that you are requesting below.

  92. Ramon Flores September 12, 2025 at 14:05

    It’s very helpfull

    • Randy Logsdon September 12, 2025 at 21:22

Thank you for making an older veteran, feel useful again and making it easier for us to stay on top of our lives. Greatful JMA

  94. Roger Dennison September 12, 2025 at 13:31

This is great.Hopefully it works unlike the travel link online. Was just turned down for travel pay again for August medical appointments. Excuse is you are qualified but turned down for longer than 30 days. The link wouldn’t work and the web site was taken completely down for days yet no consideration for days with no access. Finally drove special trip to VA clinic to get new travel form that they fax and then reply by snail mail it was turned down. This is not the veterans problem it’s a VA problem. They need to audit and reimburse Veterans.

  95. Lester A Timmons September 12, 2025 at 13:19

This will be so helpful as I often forget to file for my travel and with my stroke it takes me longer; this is going to be so helpful

Job well done! Thank you. ?

  98. Spencer Harris III, USN(Ret.) September 12, 2025 at 12:40

VA Healthcare and Benefits App is a welcomed tool. It’s user friendly and easy to navigate.

Encourage veterans to familiarize themselves with this resource. Thank you. ?

  99. Barbara Banks September 12, 2025 at 12:22

Whoever thought of this deserves a raise. This would make things easier instead of how we do things at present and less paperwork for users and reviewers.
Now the thing I would like to suggest which would benefit so many is having a choice on how to get your monthly VA check. At present I’ve recently been in an accident someone hit me and tried to get away. Now although I have had Insurance for as long as I can remember driving the other person doesn’t and car isn’t in his name and the other person whose car it is both registration and insurance expires two years ago. Instead of them having to pay for my deductible I have to pay a grand to get my car fixed until they can try to recoup from these people. I need my car for work and everything. Bottom line I have rent a d other bills to pay so I don’t really have a grand laying around in my account I would like to know can Veterans be given the option of having half of your VA check installed Biweekly for emergencies which I am struggling to deal with at present or be given my next due check in advance due to hardship. That would help out tremendously right now.
Just something to think about to help Veterans from having to be stressed out about unexpected bumps in the road.

  100. Steven Walker September 12, 2025 at 12:19

I have already went through the whole process and was told that the VA is 6 months behind. I do want my money as I should be awarded.

  101. Thomas Ashton September 12, 2025 at 12:17

Columbus VA is two months behind in processing claims. In using Community Care I was told to attach a letter from the treating physician that I attended the appointment dates. These 36 appointments were not listed in myVA online.

  102. Karen Kern September 12, 2025 at 11:49

I have been denied travel pay because I received more than they allowed annually….$16,000 is the cut off. The VA facility where I receive primary care is 65 miles away, and when I need specialty care, more than 100 miles…one way!

  103. Sharlene L Harkins September 12, 2025 at 11:37

Using the app for travel pay does not give you the option to choose an alternate route if you had to use it. The new app may be more efficient for the veteran, but it stealthily cheats us out of possible mileage. Not to mention if you live too close you dont get paid unless you have driven back and forth to accumulate the necessary mileage. Come on, MILEAGE IS MILEAGE!!!!! What a shame, what a sham.

  104. David E. Towers September 12, 2025 at 11:22

I have submitted 5 forms for travel payment and I have gotten Nothing in return. With No reason why???

  105. Charles A Jackson Sr September 12, 2025 at 10:38

    Travel reimbursement

  106. Elma Bunch September 12, 2025 at 10:30

If we check in and out for an appointment, regardless if we use the kiosk or at the desk, why can’t the travel claim be generated automatically?

  107. Robert Strenad September 12, 2025 at 10:27

I currently have 5 mileage only paper claims sent into the Atlanta VA office 2 months ago with no action yet on their part.

  108. William L Sandifer September 12, 2025 at 10:21

Haven’t received any travel pay in two or more years..

  109. Bennett September 11, 2025 at 22:58

I’ve been in manual review for over a month, this is not a faster way to claim travel pay.

  110. Thomas Hunter September 11, 2025 at 11:37

How do I submit the required Dr’s statement that I attended the approved appointment, which is necessary under the Community Care Program?

  111. Douglas Nichoos September 10, 2025 at 10:55

I live in Zanesville Ohio and am starting treatment for prostate cancer in Cleveland Ohio soon. I have already had three preliminary appointments (1 a virtual appointment from home, and two in Cleveland), I got into the app to apply for travel pay, but the two appointments in Cleveland do not show up so I do not know how to get travel pay. The virtual appointment does show up. Please help

    • Robert Pinkerton September 12, 2025 at 12:17

Submitted trav form no pay long wait

    • Ray Fitz September 17, 2025 at 12:43

You have to submit the form from the center that sees you. Each one has a separate travel department so they will handle only the billing that effects them.

  112. Paula Jo Willis September 6, 2025 at 14:52

Your attached video says I am supposed to attach a bank account for direct deposit, yet that option was not made available on my phone when I submitted my request for travel reimbursement for September 4th, 2025. Is this another way the VA intends to NOT PAY ME? I have not been paid for years now, even when I have the request submitted at the hospital and by the VA administrative staff. Imagine my distrust of this newest b.s.

  113. Herman Westinghouse Fletcher September 5, 2025 at 16:00

I have downloaded the VA Health and Benifits app but there is not any way for me to submit a request for travel pay and there is not an update to allow this either. What is going on??

  114. Michael Sullivan September 5, 2025 at 15:30

I put in a claim for travel pay several months ago. Never received anything.

  115. James E Seidl September 5, 2025 at 15:29

It seems easy enough I think I’ll try it. Thanks

  116. Paul J Kuran September 5, 2025 at 14:39

How far back can I put in a claim. I have been going through Community Care to Roman Chiropractic for Massage therapy for over a year now can I go back and put a travel reimbursement in for prior year since I just found out about this benefit.

  117. Sheri Patrick September 3, 2025 at 08:20

Please, please, please simplify Community Care appointments submissions for travel if not listed with the VA appointment app. I have MyChart medical app for my community care doctors. They always have a patient visit report after I have attended for me to view. Could something like this be used as verification? It’s probably the same as sent to my VA doctor too. Not to mention billing. Now that we have DOGE, can someone please ask for their expert help and get these systems talking to each other.
Next we need to work on the unnecessary amount of paperwork that is wasted sending out those EOBs from United Healthcare Care managing our Community Care Billing for the VA. There should be a It should at least be an option to opt out. Even Social Security has a paper reduction act.

  118. Edgar Luciano Castro September 2, 2025 at 19:14

Hi, any good contact phone number? I been submitting my claims and they are being approved, but also split in half and the reimbursement sent to someone else I guess. Very frustrating system!!! I have contacted the office at the VA in Tucson, Arizona, left a message and never heard back from them.

  119. Dave Wilson September 2, 2025 at 12:08

The video for the travel claim app doesn’t show how to attach documents! If I go to a community care appointment, I’m required to attach a appointment attended confirmation letter. Again this video doesn’t show how to attach any documents!

  120. Michael John Ruffley September 1, 2025 at 00:32

I do not have a phone to do that on ..I really wish being an “old ” guy would not keep making more trouble for me !

  121. Julie James August 30, 2025 at 14:34

So, it’s sad to discover that so many are having problems with the website for travel pay, but in a good way I am glad that I am not the only one. I live with a vet who is blind which means I am his biggest advocate & caregiver for lack of a better term. There is so much wrong with this app. I get in rarely. VA. gov says his email doesn’t exist & then sends him an email stating they can’t find his email on VA. Gov. That email has not changed.
When you talk to anybody at the VA they tell you that everything is fine & they can’t seem to understand why we are having problems. A LOT of people are having problems.

Note: #1. The Community Care computer & the Travel Reimbursement computer can no longer “talk” to each other.

#2. I have heard in September this year we can no longer mail them in or give the paperwork to your local VA health dept.

Now, as far as blind folks go. I can’t imagine how this will work for them. An acting jack VIS coordinator sent a letter to him which I had to read to him that basically he can drive 2 hours to another facility to get training on how to use the system on his phone. Personally, I think if this were worth the fuel I’d take him there & step outside & video tape this interaction as I can tell you that all they’re going to do is scratch their heads & won’t be able to help him.

A VIS coordinator is somebody through the VA that helps visually impaired individuals and he hasn’t had a VIS coordinator for 2 years.

I didn’t think the VA was great under Biden, but it sure is a mess under Trump. Maybe this will get better, but I’m not holding my breath.

What we need to do is get a group going (an unbiased group) that can actually get something done in Washington. I have not looked to see if there is a group yet. I spend sometimes up to 6 hrs a day on the phone regarding many issues with the VA.

Just in case vets want to get together & figure out a solution. We need some really good advocates out there that are not in the political realm of the VA.

These advocates may speak for us, but that doesn’t mean that they are representing our interests.

  122. Brandon R August 30, 2025 at 12:05

I had an appointment Caroln in the Community two hours away and it doesn’t even give me the option for the travel pay reimbursement on the app. It gives me options for other appointments that I haven’t claimed but this is the first for that my care in the community appointments. I’m just wondering why I wasn’t able to submit that claim and if there’s anyone to contact when that does not work on the app the way it should. Also, I just wanna say when I had to verify my ID me to even use the VA app it had a good picture of my drivers license and all of my information and that still was not good enough so I had to go on the video even though I’m actively waiting in line it kept resetting my time I drop down to 19 minutes and then I jump up to 40 and then I’d get down to 28 minutes and then I jump up the back to 38 when I called the following day and finally got my video appointment to get this done so I can actually use the VA app. The lady told me all we must’ve been busy if that’s the case why the heck am I waiting in line if you guys are just gonna keep resetting my time that I’ve been waiting? busier or not my place in line should’ve been held my time kept resetting.

  123. Jay August 30, 2025 at 11:09

Any time you post a video you should also post a transcript of what is covered in the video. Not everyone wants to or has the ability to watch a video.

  124. Michael Hunter August 29, 2025 at 19:34

The VA community care is great, but not when it comes to travel. If you live within 7 miles of your provider, you get nothing because VA takes $6 from every claim to a max of $18 a month. I went three times to the provider last month and got nothing even though the BTSSS system marked them paid. That’s because my trip was 14 miles and that’s less that $6 so they took all of it every time. I asked the travel supervisor at my VA where does that money go and who gets it and what’s it used for. He didn’t know. Said he would get me an answer but never did. I plan to go visit him on my next in person visit to the VA. And most community care does not show up in your appointments to file a travel claim for. For a new authorization it does. But then when the doctor is authorized to see you for further care for the next 6 months none of those appointments are in the system. I have to manually add them and some proof that I went. Just to have them take the whole amount to pay that $6. I won’t be wasting my time any more filing for travel to community care in my home town. If they required the providers to report each appointment or else they don’t get paid then this app would be easier because all out appointments would be listed to file a claim for. But not the way it is now.

    How i can summit it

  126. Joseph William Stamper August 29, 2025 at 16:13

I’m no good with computers or phone! It’s 96 miles from here to VA in Sale. VA. That’s 192 miles round trip. Cani get paid for those miles?

  127. Tom Goldbin August 29, 2025 at 16:00

Trying to confirm the rumor that the Adam Benjamin Clinic in Merriville, IN is not paying for mileage when the appointment is just for lab work (blood draws) prior to seeing a doctor.

  128. thomas sandee August 29, 2025 at 14:04

having lots of problems loglng into va

  129. WALLACE THARP August 29, 2025 at 11:56

I’m not very good at computer so the last two times I’ve gone to VA been unable to get paid. Doesn’t seem to be anybody to help. It’s probably about 39 miles round trip

    • Ronda August 29, 2025 at 12:43

I believe you need to be at least 50 min one way to qualify for reimbursement.

  130. David Ring August 29, 2025 at 11:40

I haven’t tried this new EASY travel pay reimbursement yet, but I have submitted a few through the mail since I occasionally have to travel to Anchorage for treatment and it’s approximately 160 mile trip ONE WAY. so guess what? They denied my claim for reimbursement of gasoline cost. I always submitted my claims by mail without any problem, and since the last administration (BIDEN) everything is completely screwed up. They won’t reimburse me for what ever reason, and even when I send in a corrected claim it’s still not enough. I hope someone from the Trump administration can solve this problem and get back to normal operation.

    • William August 29, 2025 at 14:22

How is this new reimbursement plan Biden’s fault may I ask?

    • Dan Schell September 3, 2025 at 10:02

They will reimburse based on mileage, not cost of fuel – and if you qualify. Requirements here: https://www.va.gov/health-care/file-travel-pay-reimbursement/

“As a Veteran, you may be eligible for reimbursement if you meet the requirements listed here.

      This must be true:

You’re traveling for care at a VA health facility or for VA-approved care at a non-VA health facility in your community.

And at least 1 of these must also be true:

      – You have a VA disability rating of 30% or higher, or
      – You’re traveling for treatment of a service-connected condition, even if your VA disability rating is less than 30%, or
      – You receive a VA pension, or
      – You have an income that’s below the maximum annual VA pension rate, or
      – You can’t afford to pay for your travel, as defined by our guidelines, or
      – You’re traveling for one of these reasons: A scheduled VA claim exam (also called a compensation and pension, or C&P, exam), to get a service dog, or for VA-approved transplant care.

If you meet the requirements, make sure you claim based on mileage, not cost of fuel.

  131. Jerry Watts (8157) August 29, 2025 at 10:16

An easy way to travel pay to dialysis??

  132. Terry Taylor August 29, 2025 at 00:29

There is nothing easy about this app. I have been over an hour trying to get it to read my drivers license which you have to submit a picture of and it’s been a nightmare trying to do so . I give up , I’ll just do the old fashioned way of going to the travel window and submitting a paper form . I don’t know why they took away being able to claim at the window of the clinic you were being seen at .

  133. GREGORY L HOTT August 28, 2025 at 19:40

using apps only complicates my life with more advertizements and giving up my time to more wasted time. It is smarter to just automate my trip to my checking in with the attendant upon arrival!!

  134. Jon David Giezentanner August 28, 2025 at 19:30

I refuse to have any appointments that aren’t just about 10 minutes away or are telehealth. I bet I’ve been turned down for at least $2,000 in travel pay for appointments that the VA set up for me that I attended and then they turned around and denied my claim, even though I am supposed to have been paid.

    • Jim August 29, 2025 at 23:38

Ronda I don’t believe that’s correct. I live closer than the 50 minutes you indicate and I get travel reimbursement for my appointments. I’m not an expert, just another veteran, so there could be something else that’s different for me.

  135. Cath Higgins August 28, 2025 at 19:25

This is not available for those of us whose caregivers use VA Health as opposed to MyHealthy Vet. Your information should state this clearly, yet it does not. My travel Claim office said I could file my claims using this app, so even they are miserably uninformed.

  136. Tony Campbell August 28, 2025 at 19:03

I love this app, So easy and at my finger tips. WELL DONE!!!!!!!

  137. John L. Berger Jr. August 28, 2025 at 18:46

What about community care? Is there a plan to upload the supporting documents needed for a claim?

  138. RB August 28, 2025 at 18:36

If you can pay my community care provider for my appointment, why cant you just pay me for the travel? Obviously I went to the appt if you paid the provider. And can we pay me my full amount of travel and not take money from me to give to others for travel (communist principle). Stop telling me you have something new and great, without verifying that it actually works. C’mon; do better.

    • Brandon R August 30, 2025 at 12:10

I absolutely agree with this. I don’t understand why we can’t get our full travel pay and they take money out of what we should be getting I understand the concept, but I digressNONE OF US agreed to that we were voluntold that’s what gonna happen it’s bull

  139. David Earl Schaffner August 28, 2025 at 18:28

What a joke!! Travel reembursemenmt takes forever. An app just means it will get lost longer.

  140. David Srite August 28, 2025 at 18:03

Really. Because the lady that does the computer mileage at my cardio you spend a dollar denying me 3.20 cents. Amazing she was out for a week so my claim arrived 2 days late. P a t h e t I c

  141. Kubik Steve August 28, 2025 at 17:43

I’ve downloaded your app twice and have been unable to find how to submit mileage reimbursement requests.

    • Cath August 28, 2025 at 19:51

Same here. I discovered all of us connected to medical centers operated by Cerner Health still have to either file paper claims or use the BTSSS system through VA Health. Once I logged in, I had to hunt for BTSSS on a page that just looks like info and explanations.

  142. MICHAEL Robert NADLER August 28, 2025 at 17:27

    In your dreams!
Every time I try to claim travel it says “something went wrong”.
I have to submit my travel claims with a paper form at the VA.

  143. Walter Nash August 28, 2025 at 15:54

I have spent many hours/weeks/months trying to submit claims. I finally decided to go to the travel desk at VA PHX for help. They told me
they couldn’t help because the claims I had been trying to resolve were now past the 30 day filing deadline. All of the claims stated “Incomplete”.

  144. Wayne Castrale August 28, 2025 at 15:53

I make sure I put in all my husband’s travel pay. I don’t know why they half to do a manual review on appointments that I have a letter stating where, when, what the appointment was for and he actually was there! It causes him to get his pay later. A lot of veterans are on a fixed income and need their reimbursement as soon as possible. I know they are behind right now in Tampa four weeks or more getting his pay out to him!!

  145. Jay Perry Jr August 28, 2025 at 15:40

Trouble getting new account. Need more directions to registration

  146. Ronald e olsen August 28, 2025 at 14:13

Travel benefits are a JOKE! I submitted over $1300.00 in travel vouchers and they were all denied due to the VA travel had got behind in process requests last year (then hiring additional personnel to process their back-log. The Data inputter’s hired dated ALL my submittals on the sane date some 60 to 90 days after I had submitted them therefore denying them because they were INPUT DATED as being submitted beyond the 30 day limit. I contacted the VA travel at Lake NONA and a supervisor stated that the same thing had happened to him and told me he would take care of the errors, HE NEVER DID!

  147. Richard S August 28, 2025 at 13:01

Yea sure I have 4 months of back pay for travel that I have not been payed for. And all they say is they believe it would be here by Feb. and it is all most September!!!!

  148. Richard Stophel August 28, 2025 at 12:59

Yea sure I have 4 months of back pay for travel that I have not been payed for. And all they say is they believe it would be here by Feb. and it is all most September!!!!

  149. Dan OConnell August 28, 2025 at 11:36

I have been very pleased the past couple months very efficient and notices are posted within an hour.

  150. JohnS. August 28, 2025 at 11:20

I filed TP on the VA App for an appointment at a VA outpatient clinic. It worked fine, and only took about 45 seconds. Much better than BTSSS website.

    • Craig Hodges September 16, 2025 at 12:07

I really would like to get reimbursed for travel a lot sooner and how do I know if im getting paid back what is due?

  151. John R Venskus August 28, 2025 at 11:07

Does not offer Travel Reimbursement path as stated. I have never been able to c laim any mileage for CCN appointments online. Glad the kiosks are back, but I have never been reimbursed for mileage to non-VA providers .

  152. Charles Shuford August 28, 2025 at 10:57

This only works if you went to a VA medical center, if you went to community care you have to send a copy of the letter you received saying you were seen there.

    • Fred C August 29, 2025 at 10:17

I agree. For VA appointments it works well. Community Care (CC) it does not work on the app. My issue is that more and more visits will be moving over to CC and this needs to be fixed.

  153. ALLAN S. LIND August 28, 2025 at 10:52

why can’t i do this on land line or computer? my mobile phone is just a simple phone without the bells and whistles. i am 81 years old and not tech savy.

  154. James Risner August 28, 2025 at 10:49

I am still waitting on 7 clams to be ok’ed. Beem 8 months. The VA has dropped the ball.

  155. Richard Barbee August 28, 2025 at 10:27

Good morning my name Richard Barbee
I need an audio appointment. Also I need the pack at test. Thank you.
    Richard Barbee

    • Anna August 28, 2025 at 11:56

Hello sir, you do need to call your call center scheduling line to book an appointment.

  156. Evelyn August 28, 2025 at 10:20

Good Morning friends – is this the same process for Veterans who are receiving care at a Cerner Site ?

    • Cath August 28, 2025 at 19:38

No, due to Cerner Health using VA Health instead of MyHealthy Vet. When I logged into the app I got a message saying my caregivers use VA Health. The Travel Claim box that showed up connected to the appointment in the video does not exist for us Cerner Health folks. I still had to log into VA Health, pick I am a Veteran, go through the verification, then I got dumped back to the info page that explains my benefits, and I had to scroll down to find the link to BTSSS. It was in small-sized letters and not bold print. Kind of hidden. Instead of being easy like it used to be, now you have to take an extra couple of steps and then hunt for the site.

  157. William Roye August 28, 2025 at 10:19

This is NOT the easiest way. Not everyone carries a damn cell phone (I hate them) so I am out.
During the covid fiasco VA removed all the kiosks from VA facilities. This has made check-in MUCH slower and has prevented me from recouping 90%+ of any travel pay I am entitled to.

    BRING BACK THE KIOSKS.

    • Lynn Lawrence September 12, 2025 at 13:36

The Birmingham VA has reinstalled KIOSK terminal in all of its facilities (including all clinics) for checking in and fileing travel claims. I did this yesterday at my pain block clinic- ps I file my CC appointments using the BTSSS via my laptop.

  158. Ted Miller August 28, 2025 at 10:17

    Never pay the right amount

    • William Kirkland August 28, 2025 at 16:20

They want us to give up. I was told I had not reached my monthly deductible amount. So 6.93 is half of 36 mile ROUND TRIP> I’m grateful for any $$ they pay, I guess. Still waiting for the first true round trip mileage amount to be paid. Just say “all we (VA) pays is what we think you’ll accept.” This way we get to serve twice as many veterans. Government reasoning 101.

  159. William High August 28, 2025 at 10:05

My issue is that we have two homes an I use VA facilities in Bradenton, Fla and Columbus, Ohio. I change the address for meds delivery. Can I change the address for mileage or will it use my permanent Fla address ?

    • Lynn Lawrence September 12, 2025 at 13:42

Yes you can – did this when I was at my profile address, but I changed it to our lake address when we were at our lake address. Please note I filled via the BTSS website.

  160. Billy C Criley August 28, 2025 at 10:02

That’s fine and dandy. Why don’t you do something about the 8 month backlog in travel pay that we are still waiting on. It’s discussing to have to wait this long. No one really cares..

    • Richard S August 28, 2025 at 13:03

Amen brother over 4 months for me

  161. Mike August 28, 2025 at 09:36

VA travel reimbursement has been the worst VA experience. I received reimbursement checks that had NO VA identification n it and looked exactly like all the other junk mail I receive. So I try to get direct deposit, and it’s a virtual waterboarding process that the only way to submit the setup form is by fax. Who uses or has a fax anymore? Why do I have to set up another direct deposit on top of the one already set up? Other feedback may explain it, outsourcing and throwing up more roadblocks to benefits.

  162. Larry Martin August 28, 2025 at 09:25

Every change the V. A. makes is designed to discourage veterans from using the benefit. It’s a typical Government bureaucracy where they know that a lot of veterans are not proficient with computers and smart phones…so lets make that a requirement to get the benefit. It’s just another SNAFU situation created to employ more paper pushers instead of medical doctors and nurses. By the way…your blood pressure is a little high!

  163. Lori Gordon August 28, 2025 at 09:23

I have submitted travel payment twice since the change of how to submit and have not received any payment guess the va is saving money by doing this change

  164. Ed Trible August 28, 2025 at 09:14

Thank You Hopefully I can give it a whirl if their ever is a next time ? Been close to three years since my last physical. Had to cancel all my appointments. She is an invalid now and I am her sole caregiver . No help. Thanks, Ed

  165. Chris Watters August 28, 2025 at 08:44

I filed my travel milage on the VABA on August 28, 2025 at 08:41:02, done at 08:42:29, August 28, 2025. That’s real time, time savings.

  166. Jackie McGuire August 28, 2025 at 08:43

Thank you for this information,it’s really difficult for me getting to the business office and filling out the form for my travel pay, God bless ?

  167. Scott E Reynolds August 28, 2025 at 08:08

I attempted to watch the short video about how to submit claims, unfortunately you present me with a YouTube video and I’m banned from YouTube.
How do I watch this video ?

  168. Gail DeGood-Guy August 28, 2025 at 07:34

I couldn’t sign in to the VA app! I used both my ID.me and Login.gov accounts! The ID.me was rejected immediately. So, I went to Login.gov and after verifying my drivers license AND social security #, it said it didn’t recognize my phone number…..the only one I’ve had for 27 years! So, I had to send for a letter and WAIT! This is very irritating!

  169. mark thurmond August 28, 2025 at 07:11

will this app. decrease the time once claim is submitted and travel reimbursement funds are direct deposited.
14 months to receive travel claim direct deposit is very excessive and just reaffirms the VA administration’s lack of duty to the Vets as an individual, a person and just treats the VET as a number, to be totalled into a larger number so the VA will look good on paper but in reality, it’s a little better than SUCKS!!

  170. Herbert D Green August 28, 2025 at 06:35

I look forward to trying it soon. In struggled with the other way because I am not computer savvy. Thanks for updating the process.

  171. Thomas H Hansen August 28, 2025 at 06:13

    We couldn’t file your claim
We’re sorry. Something went wrong on our end. We couldn’t file your travel reimbursement claim right now.
You can try again later or file your claim another way. You must file within 30 days of your appointment.
    Other ways to file
You can file through the Beneficiary Travel Self
    Service System (BTSSS).
Start a travel claim through BTSSS
Or you can file by mail, fax, email, or in person

  172. Thomas H Hansen August 28, 2025 at 06:06

I logged into my VA account via ID me and I was enable to file my travel claim due to technical issues try again later several times.

  173. Carl McConnell August 28, 2025 at 05:45

If this is easier and quicker, then why is it taking 2 weeks or longer to process and pay the claims?…
Plus, why do I have to created my claims instead of the VA or the provider/ vendor?..
And what’s with this submission of proof for service / treatment to the VA for payment?…
Finally, the claim is “In Manual Review “…. WTF??

  174. Frank A Cooper August 28, 2025 at 05:11

What if you don’t a cell phone?

  175. Leland Hydechuk August 28, 2025 at 02:51

I believe they overlooked the method of filing when the appointment was with a community provider and supporting documents must be provided in order to validate the appointment. Oh well…………….

  176. NB August 28, 2025 at 02:26

This is useless for everyone that uses Community Care. Your associates won’t add my community care appointments when I report them, when I email them in, so all of us using community care can not use the app to submit mileage. Hopefully someone will work on a solution for that. The VA associates who respond to the community care email told me I had to get a printout proof that I had each appointment, and submit them each by mail.

  177. Michael Cosenza August 28, 2025 at 02:18

Apparently the Foreign medical program is not a part of the VA as they will not approve travel claims. They’re an absolute joke!!

  178. George Korth August 28, 2025 at 00:37

I tried this and I received the message that there is a problem submitting the claim.

    • Stella August 28, 2025 at 17:03

I have tried to file a travel claim through the BTSSS for several appointments for about a year and every time I would receive a message stating Bing maps was offline. I called the local travel office and was told to try again in an hour because they were having the same problem. I explained I had been trying for days. I was then asked “do you even know how to use a computer?” REALLY!?
I was so excited when this new travel claim submission app began. I went to my appointments, checked in and submit my claim BUT none of the travel claims were able to be processed. Every time I tried I’d run into the same issue.
As far as community care. I do request the letters stating I’ve gone to the appt but then a few days later in the mail the VA sends me an explanation of benefits, listing the appointments I showed up for. So, why can’t I just send that in with my travel claim? Or better yet why do I need to submit anything if they already have the info?
All these issues do allot for my anxiety.

  179. Dan August 28, 2025 at 00:15

Thank goodness! Finally an easy way to file travel claims. Thank you VA!

    • Terry Taylor August 29, 2025 at 00:40

What’s easy about it? I spent over an hour trying to get the app to work , never did happen

  180. Brian K Brinkman August 27, 2025 at 23:54

My first claim using this system was denied because I didn’t send a copy of some kind of proof I actually attended the appointment.I thought since the VA sent me a text asking me after I went if I did in fact go to the said appointment and me texting “yes” back on top of the community provider asking the same thing would suffice but oh no that would be too easy. God knows my 75 year old brain has enough trouble as it is.Very disappointed in this. It’s not that easy to find either even on the computer either.

  181. Jim McQuillen August 27, 2025 at 23:02

I read the instructions for the travel claim and it is anything but simple!! The instructions are a minimum of five pages !

  182. R. Scott Roane August 27, 2025 at 22:59

This is not quite right for some of us attached to Lovell VA, and a few others. We need to still sign into the patient portal to do this.

  183. David DeRose August 27, 2025 at 22:53

Why does the VA take almost half of the travel claim amount???

  184. Michael G August 27, 2025 at 22:52

If your VA doctor requires you to complete mandatory urinalysis because you’re on LTO (long term opiate) pain medication, why is that not able to be claimed on the app too? Especially when the meds are prescribed for service connected disabilities.

  185. Raymond Enders August 27, 2025 at 22:52

I’ve tried doing things over the phone nothing works. I cannot get the app to go past anything to even just check in needs to be simplified for someone needs to explain it to those of us who are not born with phones in our hand.

  186. Paul Wallace August 27, 2025 at 22:41

I had good care on Aug 25 2025

  187. Leroy Joseph Jr August 27, 2025 at 22:37

The VA travel pay is a pain when it comes to reimbursement for VA Community Care Appointments.
Even though the Appointment shows in your VA Appointment list – they still want proof that it’s a ‘valid’ appointment for travel reimbursement. (Even after I’ve submitted (uploaded) the proper paperwork, claims were still denied

1.) On the Letterhead from the attending Physician stating that I was there for my Community Care sanction appointment.
2.) Copy of the Community Care Appointment from My HealtheVet account and/or the VA App.

They still denied my Reimbursement Claim for Travel Pay.

    LMAO!?!?!

  188. Richard M August 27, 2025 at 22:25

Doesn’t work with Community care appointments. It is such a a pain, it is not even worth the effort to waste your time with the Red Tape.

  189. William Roman-Rivera August 27, 2025 at 21:11

This is all fine and dandy until it’s not so easy because you have to wait to get your E-Z Pass info to get paid for your tolls. E-Z pass info is not readily available. It is sent on a monthly basis.

  190. Don Davidson August 27, 2025 at 20:38

The new travel pay reimbursement runs smoothly, efficiently and is user friendly.
Much, much better than older online version.
The old version under myhealthvet was difficult to find and not user friendly.
    Keep up the good work.

  191. Aaron Cavazos August 27, 2025 at 20:35

I am not getting that option in the app for any of my appointments.

  192. Ennis Hooper August 27, 2025 at 20:27

i haven,t recieved travel pay for 2 years .i would like to know why…

  193. ANDREW John TENGERES August 27, 2025 at 20:27

I do not own a cell phone so will the paper process still continue.

  194. Phillip beeson August 27, 2025 at 20:19

On this app we need to be able to claim travel pay for community care appts

  195. B. Jones August 27, 2025 at 20:17

Sadly this new feature to process travel does not allow you to create an appointment when they send us out to care in the community. This should have its own section to cover all travel.

  196. Paul J Kuran August 27, 2025 at 20:13

How do you find out if you qualify for travel reinbursment.

  197. Darnnell Ross August 27, 2025 at 19:33

    Thanks for your services

  198. Darryl August 27, 2025 at 19:26

This is more bs I used to have simple easy mileage reimbursement that has not happened in years!! Even trying to get the employees help is such a pain in the ass I don’t even bother anymore with their garbage oh and I don’t want to download another damn app what an inconvenience they create with this BROKEN VA

  199. Darryl August 27, 2025 at 19:24

This is more bs I used to have simple easy mileage reimbursement that has not happened in years!! Even trying to get the employees help is such a pain in the ass I don’t even bother anymore with their garbage

  200. Darrell J Deauvearo August 27, 2025 at 19:23

I am really disappointed that over 95% of my entitlement is being deducted for veterans who do not qualify for VA Travel. I earned my entitlement and should benefit with 100%. The $6.00 for veterans who do not qualify should be coming from another source. I am left with $1.17 or .90. What’s the point?

  201. Leslie McLaughlin August 27, 2025 at 19:17

Tried to submit travel from Aug 8th Dr appointment and it doesn’t give me that option.

  202. Anthony Andrea August 27, 2025 at 19:16

I’m very tech savvy. No matter how easy you say we disabled Vets can apply and receive our benefit travel compensation, I have been waiting 6 weeks for payment on one of my claims.
Also, what is the mileage compensation rate now? I suggest, given inflation, cost of gas, and new car prices and maintenance today, it is totally insufficient and not fair to us Vets.
    VA, you can do better!

  203. Shayla Walker August 27, 2025 at 19:12

    Unless it’s a community care appointment :/

  204. Paul Garvin August 27, 2025 at 19:10

I have travel claims on file with the Eastern Kansas System in Topeka that are nearly a year old! I have called a couple of times and have been told they are backlogged. For nearly a year??? The KCMO VA pays travel claims within a few days. “KC has more staff,” says Topeka.

  205. David S Seibert August 27, 2025 at 19:05

    What about tolls?

  206. Felicia August 27, 2025 at 18:52

The part that sucks for me is that I’m 5 miles away from the VA. So I don’t qualify for travel pay. Sometimes I’m there multiple times a month. 5 visits is 50 miles. Zero dollars

  207. Larry Butler August 27, 2025 at 18:52

This does not work for community care non_VA appointments

  208. Robert King August 27, 2025 at 18:52

I have filed Claims and sent in the application with My routing and checking numbers but haven’t heard a word. I used to get Direct deposits when applying thru the Kiosk’s I didn’t for a long time because of the hassle. Robert King

  209. Luis Sarellano August 27, 2025 at 18:51

I now only submit travel reimbursement when I have an appointment at the VA clinic near me. If I have an appointment at a community provider approved by the VA I do not submit a travel reimbursement because it is always denied, but the provider is paid religiously and on time. The VA will send you all kinds of justifications as to why you were not paid and all those reasons, in my opinion are not justified.

  210. France Briand August 27, 2025 at 18:47

I can’t submit a travel claim through my phone or things that because I have to submit proof of tolls and if I attend medical appointments outside the VA which I often do, I have to submit a letter as proof that I went to my medical appointment because the VA doesn’t trust veterans.

  211. frank miller August 27, 2025 at 18:41

My app, which I just re loaded to get the newest version, doesn’t look anything like what they’re showing and there is no option for a travel claim.

  212. Wayne Fenwick August 27, 2025 at 18:35

How about appointments outside of the VA?

  213. kenny victor August 27, 2025 at 18:29

I travelled Tuesday August 19, 2025 and the direct deposit was in the bank Thursday, August 21, 2025

  214. Michael Rich August 27, 2025 at 18:15

I have been using this and there is a 4 week delay, when I see a cumunity care doctor or facility.

  215. W Haynes August 27, 2025 at 18:14

maybe it will work. travel pay on line has never worked as claimed…never correct and not even close for milage alone. i stopped years ago with 100 trips since

  216. AnnMarie August 27, 2025 at 18:03

Can this be used for community care reimbursement? That’s what I need something easier for. Here in Appleton, WI, my husband gets a text message when he’s left the VA that the travel will happen (he might have to reply to the text, I forget). Easy peasy, no app required!

  217. David Askew August 27, 2025 at 17:58

That does not work, I had an 1 PM appointment at the Syracuse N.Y. Hospital on May 30th of this year, checked in with My phone, and it asked

if I was declaring Travel Pay, I typed YES, and it said all I had to do was use the phone, and then it said OK, have not received it yet!!

  218. JM August 27, 2025 at 17:52

I have tried this on the VA app, but it then tells mebthat i need to set up direct deposit, which I had do e years ago and get my disability benefits through the same bank. I havw submitted three separate claims (travel only) and have yet to receive a dime. Why do I have to set up DD twice?!?

  219. Van Elder August 27, 2025 at 17:42

If you have VA Community Care appointments, the BTSSS travel system does not have pre-populated appointments in the system. So, this only works for VA (in-house) appointments.

  220. Lee Temple Sr August 27, 2025 at 15:56

I love how easy the new VA app operates, it has made the process so much better

    • James Graham August 28, 2025 at 08:17

I tried to submit on line but only 1 of 4 attended appointments in august was posted. So to meet the 30 day submission deadline. I took the forms in person to my clinic.

  221. Christopher Campbell August 26, 2025 at 19:34

Never use this process, MSP Va created a requirement that the veteran ask the comunity care medical provider sign some sort if document proving the veteran attended the appointment even though no requirement for such verification exists on the approved travel form united states code or federal regulations they pay the provider but distrust the veteran

    • Tim Hilliard August 27, 2025 at 19:41

      Thanks for the heads ups!

    • John August 28, 2025 at 07:57

My exact thoughts and issues I have expierenced

    • Heath August 28, 2025 at 09:12

I just stumbled upon this when I was looking for an upcoming appt. No one had to sign anything.

  222. Donald Crisp August 26, 2025 at 19:10

I just tried to submit claims but received the “We’re sorry but do to an issue on our end we couldn’t process your claim.” Why would a benefit that claims to make it easier be broadcast when the bugs haven’t been worked out first?

    • Robert Secrest August 28, 2025 at 06:09

Problem with I’d Me getting started for identity section

  223. Ken Rigan August 26, 2025 at 18:48

If the VA system ever work

  224. Patrick August 26, 2025 at 18:42

The whole V.A. Travel pay system was outsourced to a third party vender last year.
Now about 70% of all community care travel claims get denied where before they were always approved.
I have talked to the Director’s office in Tennessee and was told there was nothing that could be done since it came from Washington.
She recommended the more people the complained to Washington about it maybe it would get changed.
I sent a email to the White House and believe it or not actually got a response back 3 months later.
Its no use trying to get ahold of Doug Collins since he has no direct way to get ahold of his office which is what I told the White House as well.
Anyway they said they would forward my issue to the correct federal department.
If more people did this maybe this could get the attention it deserves.

    • Tim Hilliard August 27, 2025 at 19:50

Yes, I tried to get a message to Doug Collins and it was impossible. 95% of my care is from Community Care and I gave up after a year trying to receive my travel pay! Smdh!
What is the email address you used for the White House?

I know its off topic. But, VA hasnt really been on topic with
    veterans either.

There was a chemical bunker demolition in the Gulf war that
wasnt way up north by the mountains. Khamisiyah was the
known one that OSAGWI spent $18 million on a “wild ass guess”
according to Mike Kilpatrick in 2003.

The one Im talking about I reported right between the 1st and
3rd AD in Iraq after the war. According to DOD CRUR data it was
30:24:15 047:06:00 east of Al Bussayyah.

OSAGWI stated this: Units of the 1st Armored Division, members
of 2d Armored Calvary, and EOD personnel tell of a large ASP that
was detonated on 11 April 1991, approximately 35k away from the
    veteran’s location.

The ASP detonation fits in with many aspects of the veteran’s account.
It was 465 tons of explosives, and was one of the largest conventional
explosions since World War II. The explosion was so large, 2d ACR
reported it as a nuclear explosion. There are anecdotal accounts of
1st Armored troops being knocked off their feet by the shock wave 5
    miles away.

OSAGWI PAT team never followed up. This was buried in 1999. Im trying to
get this released at NARA as we speak.

VA should reopen Gulf War files and programs because there are going to
be 1,752,954 new records covering thousands of events. Its time to change
service connection, 3.3117, and build the Toxic Exposure Pathology Center
to take real tissue samples for analysis. Because this isnt over.

VA should send VA RAC members over to NARA II and look at the boxes in
vault section: Special Study Files Pertaining to Gulf War Illnesses,
    January 1, 1996–November 9, 2000 – Records group 330.

You will see my name alot more in the coming months. As Im going to publish
a ALS study showing a veteran death rate of 1,000 a year. A number thats
been hidden since 2018. 7 years of missing data. Im positive VA is behind
hiding these numbers to play down how bad ALS is in the military. Oddly,
    mostly Army, and Air Force.

Given the amount of things about to surface, its time to look at Gulf war
once more. DOD did NOT finish its job.

Oh yeah, Travel pay is too hard to login and report. BTSSS is complicated
to get to from login. You didnt even say BTSSS on this page.

As Greatful as I am for the VA, ease in application is counteracted by the time it takes to receive it 2&3 months is the norm, Forgive my complaint, when on a fixed income this is hard to budget.
