Since its launch in 2023, the Veterans Affairs Life Insurance (VALife) program has already provided over $2 billion in total coverage to more than 60,000 Veterans.

VALife provides up to $40,000 of whole life insurance coverage to Veterans. Veterans age 80 or younger, with service-connected disabilities rated from 0 to 100%, receive guaranteed acceptance in the program without medical underwriting.

VALife premium rates are the same for men and women, not based on medical conditions and will not increase over the life of the policy. Premiums are based on the Veteran’s age upon enrollment and the coverage amount selected. In most cases, VALife premium rates are competitive with, or better than, similar private sector guaranteed acceptance, whole life insurance programs.

The full table of monthly VALife premium rates can be found online.

Veterans can apply online and receive a decision within 10 minutes. Veterans enrolled in the program also enjoy self-service functions like electronic payments and beneficiary updates.

As a fellow veteran, I’m grateful the VALife program exists—it’s a step forward. That said, $40,000 of whole life coverage doesn’t stretch far these days. Most funerals alone can run $10,000–$15,000, and final expenses pile on top of that. Families often find themselves with a serious gap, even after VA benefits.

That’s why I spend my time helping veterans and their families secure permanent coverage that guarantees dignity at the end of life and peace of mind for those left behind. VALife is a great foundation—but it’s not the full plan. Protecting your family requires more than what the VA provides.

We’ve earned better, and our families deserve better.

Is this some kind of a scam? I have been trying to get in touch with you for almost a week. Would you please give me a good telephone number to call about purchasing life insurance?

Too much money. I want term life only. Your whole life policy provides no coverage for 2 years and costs $209 per month! I already have investments. I just need insurance.

To bad Doge didn’t gut the VA. For every vet you claim to help you screw over 20. They need to redo the system and fire every VA worker who isn’t a vet.

I had been looking for coverage like this well over 15 yrs, when I did my research I was very happy with the outcome and just recently purchased coverage, it was fast, easy and very few questions to answer, I only have 1 younger brother left in our family so when I receive my orders for the higher land I want to make sure he is taken care of. I will be looking into additional coverage for him but only through what the VA can offer me. Thank you again, for giving me the chance to express my happiness with hopes of others being able to take advantage of something we rarely get offered.
