Finding work in NH is quite difficult. Most jobs I’ve worked consider Veterans a tax benefit to themselves and nothing more. So if they already have a few then they won’t hire more.

Delivery companies are the only ones desperate for anyone.

Good luck with Law Enforcement, most are too picky to take good hearted men & women. They prefer physically fit youth with little life experience, easy to mold.

Carpentry is both fun and educational. However, work can be scarce unless you travel frequently into Massachusetts, Vermont or Maine.

Plenty of landscaping companies, which won’t pay higher than $16-$18 an hour. You’ll be lucky to earn $19 an hour and not get laid off for the winter. People who choose to make less stay on longer as snow clearing personnel. Just be careful of the ones who pay under the table, they will try to withhold paychecks for weeks at a time. I went almost a whole month without being paid. It took me confronting the Owner infront of the whole company, getting scream at and my life threatened before finally getting paid my due.

Corrections is easy to get into but not for those with family requirements. I worked at Hillsborough County House of Corrections for two years and left when it got too difficult to balance family and work life. It was hard, makes sense. It’s harder to stay due to nepotism, corruption and infighting between staff members. The Director of the Jail prevents issues by blaming the lower Officers and fires them. So if you work there then be aware you might end up a biblical goat, sent away for the sins of the Jail. Check the high turnover rate if you don’t believe me. Ask yourself if you really want to work four consecutive 16 hour shifts, into and coming out of your two days off. Just imagine that as your life and see if it’s really worth testing those waters.

I could elaborate more on the jail but I don’t want to be sued for being honest. Yes, they will make you sign a document which states you won’t talk poorly of the Jail during or after employment.

Other than that, get an education and go into the trades, welding and Electrical fields are in high demand. HVAC is also a great option.

While at collage, keep your opinions to yourself and don’t make friends. Politics has made trust null and void in school.

I posted a previous comment that had typos and errors.
This is to correct those errors.

I go to the Manhattan campus VA on E. 23rd St. in NYC.
I have been a top dance instructor all my life and was professional in NYC at 14 years old.
I offered to teach the vets about dance on 23rd St., or anywhere else I can get to in NJ, with no charge, but the VA has not responded yet.
I love the vets, and every single one of them is a pleasure to speak with.
I am Caucasian, still can teach at 83, and look young because of the miracle of dance. Dance keeps you young all your life.
Would you inquire about this for me? I would teach simply, no fuss, in a free style form of dance but which still needs attention so that vets taking it must be willing to learn the movements. There is no necessary partnering but those who wish can learn how to lead and follow from me. All I would do is bring music and show a simple step anyone could do, solo or with a partner. I have taught in many countries like this and always the steps I showed were loved.
    I love to teach.
    Thank you
    Tracy Everitt
PS If you look me up on youtube you will see me with Liza Minnelli and also at Lincoln Center, doing the dances of Fred Astaire. and also with a chamber orchestra in a tap dance solo. I love teaching all dance forms.
