VA and the Veterans Day National Committee (VDNC) invite cities, towns and non-profit organizations that wish to host local Veterans Day Observances to apply to be recognized as official Veterans Day Regional Sites.

Regional observances—such as parades, concerts, ceremonies, and educational programs—highlight the vital contributions Veterans have made to our nation’s history and culture.

Why Apply?

Approved sites receive:

  • Official Veterans Day posters.
  • Military ceremonial support (as available) from the Department of War.
  • A certificate from the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for inclusion in their program.
  • Recognized regional sites are announced every year on VA’s website.

In 2025, 56 regional sites across 28 states hosted VA-recognized Veterans Day observances.

Selection Criteria

Regional sites are selected based on continuity, regional impact and community involvement. To review the full criteria for selection, visit the Veterans Day Regional Site webpage.

How to Apply

Download the Regional Sites Application and submit it by May 2, 2026, to the address listed on the form or email it to vetsday@va.gov. Selected sites will be notified by email when they are selected.

For questions about the application process or the Veterans Day Regional Site Program, contact the National Veterans Outreach Office at vetsday@va.gov.

I leave a comment with every news.va.gov article. But seldom has it
been about that article. So what is it today?

“The VA issued an interim final rule on February 17, 2026, to amend
38 CFR § 4.10, requiring medical examiners to rate disabilities based
on a veteran’s function with medication or treatment. Due to massive
backlash from veterans and lawmakers, the VA has halted enforcement
of this rule and is moving to rescind it.”

The active concern is Sec of VA Doug Collins will sit silently on this and
not rescind it. That he is determined to keep this via back door. Which
is why I think he should resign for even proposing it. Because he thinks
so little of human life, veterans lives, and true hardships. To try and
hurt people with this horrendous idea. Trick them.

We dont need leaders in office that wants to trick people. That isnt even
leadership, its mafia style roman decimation of ranks to cut numbers.
Brutality towards the weak, sick, and easy to trick. To what end? Save
a dollar to put to Trumps numerous acts of self glorification. Which are
all coming down when he leaves office. Count on that.

VA taunts the veterans literally expecting us to take it. That over time
our care is just too expensive after a war. Then dont go to war.

Stop betraying volunteers with substandard care. Every damn war.

You dont like my complaining, stop doing what your doing that created
this. Combat veterans should matter because we have been shot at
and mistreated while you sat at home spitting on us. Nothing can make
up for what we saw in war, there is no amount of praise or gifts that
can purge the hells of war we lived through. Everyone like me is forever
changed and NEVER free of it. It follows us every day of our lives.

VA leadership is closed door, and highly dishonest. We need to purge that
leadership and start over. Random drawings, anyone can do better. Even
mafia understands you got to give to get. this regime just takes.

Boo hoo, mean old veteran being cranky. I would not be cranky if I wasnt
fighting so hard to save scraps and tidbits. Gulf war health care is a joke.
We need a specialty clinic and advanced toxic exposure lab procedures
to make good on promises. Instead, its 15 minutes basic care every 6 months
and barely that. DODSR alone lied about HIV serum samples for sequencing
    to prove what changed.

So here I am beating on the door at 810 Vermont street, unable to get past
the lobby because wealthy people hide in there offices. No call, no emails,
except for there fellow wealthy buddies. Laughing at us. Delighting in the
ability to brush people off. Amused.

What, you want 6 million angry vets on your door step? You have that now
with the interim report. No one trust you now. We cant count on you to do
right by us. Rescinding it is not enough, you need to go for suggesting it.

    Resign……
