VA invites Veterans, their families, caregivers, survivors and the public to honor fallen service members by attending Memorial Day ceremonies at VA National Cemeteries and surrounding communities across the country.

The Memorial Day events and observances listed below will continue to be updated until May 22, 2026. We encourage visitors to verify the event details with the host organization linked.

Those unable to attend events in person may still honor a fallen service member by leaving a tribute on the Veterans Legacy Memorial site. There, you can view the stories, decorations and interment locations of over 10 million Veterans.

For information about VA burial and memorial benefits, volunteer opportunities or to submit a pre-need burial eligibility application, visit www.cem.va.gov or call toll-free at 1-800-827-1000.

While we will actively update this list leading up to Memorial Day weekend, event information does change. We encourage you to verify event details with the linked host organization or National Cemetery.

The list missed a great one in Santa Barbara, CA – something to add next year. See: https://www.pcvf.org/memorial-day-ceremony

We hold a Memorial Day Ceremony every year at the Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. It is the Marine Corps League Pappy Boyington Det #966 that hosts it. Is there a way to get this added to next years events. It is at 11a-12p on Memorial Day every year.

    Why no events in Delaware?

Um…. The ONLY state not listed is RHODE ISLAND. I guess our state is doing NOTHING? I know RI is small…..but we are BIG in SPIRIT!!!

I would like to know what is going on in RHODE ISLAND for Memorial day.

Where is New Hampshire? Last time I checked it was one of the 50 states, but is nowhere listed here?

  7. Bruce LeBlanc May 24, 2026 at 10:44 - Reply

I see Kimberly questioned why you include the state of Rhode Island? Many, many, many other veterans wonder why, too.

We are a large Cemetery in Anderson, Indiana. Since 1929, nearly 100 years ago, Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Needs has honored and remembered the fallen service members on Memorial Day. It would be our privilege to have guests attend our Memorial Day event. Starts at noon. For more information, go to:

    https ://www.AndersonMemorialPark.com/

    Hope to see you

I visited the National Military Cemetery of Arizona web page to see about Memorial Day ceremonies. There is one important piece of information missing. Where is it? There are directions from some unidentified airport but still no location given. There are web connections for support to general VA help pages but nothing related to this page or cemetery.

To honor those who have served the cause of freedom – on May 25, 2026 at 1100 the Veterans Alliance/Friends of the Monument will host El Dorado County’s Memorial Day ceremony. Monument is located at 360 Fair Lane, Placerville CA (east of the county admin buildings). All are welcome to attend.

No one cares about dead veterans. Lets play golf or stuff our face at a BBQ. Those who serve bear the scars of those who went before us.

    • Harry A Kitchen May 25, 2026 at 13:07 - Reply

Play golf? Stuff your face at a BBW? Who do you think paid for you to do that. It was the dead veterans nobody cares about. I had an uncle who was wounded in b the battle of the bulge bad enough, they sent him home to die. He did in 2015.
People who think like you do should be shipped to the places our troops have to go to. Y’all wouldn’t last. Its people with that outlook that gripes my ass.
Thank a veteran for fighting for your right to voice your opinion

God Bless our troops. I hope that our troops abroad get to kill more schoolgirls indiscriminately and without remorse. May our troops forever our corporate elite and the pedophiles in the current administration. And May they protect the rights of every American to buy shit they don’t need with money they don’t have, while stuffing their fat faces with highly processed food. And let’s not forget to honor our troops: kill a Native American and take their shit and call it progress. Remember what this day is for: honoring baby killers.

I didn’t see the Andersonville National Cemetery in Ga on the list. My Dad served in the Army and is a Vietnam Vet. Would love to see it mentioned on the website for Memorial Day.

One of the oldest Memorial Day parades and service is in Ferndale, California, 95536. The parade starts at the veterans’ hall and goes up Main Street to the old cemetery. Speakers, prayers, and a 21-gun salute make up the service.

Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado, Fort Collins Colorado (22-25 May 2026)

In the tradition of honoring those whose sacrifices made the liberties we enjoy possible, Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado will present a powerful exhibition telling the story of America’s War for Independence. The exhibit traces the path from colonial unrest to the birth of a new nation—revealing how ordinary people, extraordinary courage and shared ideals shaped the meaning of liberty.

Memorial Day is May 30, and that is the day I will fly my large flag in honor of those we have lost.
That date has not changed to my knowledge. That is when it should be observed,
not some Monday to give unionists another day off for a weekend.

Why would the VA use a picture of an improperly folded United States flag on a Memorial Day site that says it is honoring Veterans. C’mon….do better.
