Freedom of Speech at Veterans Affairs!
https://www.change.org/p/freedom-of-speech-at-veterans-affairs
VA online services terms of use, Version: 1, Last updated: March 2024 clearly violates the First Amendment, 38 CFR 17.33(g)-(i), Executive Order 13891 of October 9, 2019, and Executive Order 14149 of January 20, 2025!
Sec of VA Doug Collins silently received a RIF from House and Senate members
over Gulf War presumption law 3.317. Only problem is this isnt a united effort
of the service groups. Its one lone VSO by the name of Ron Brown who believes
he can out wit the Sec of VA and his staff. If anything, he is on a VA RAC advisory
committee practicing the same game of excluding public comments from the
meetings. He feels he is the only one that has anything to add.
There are others like myself working this far before this point, when I served on
a VA advisory committee for GWI healthcare and benefits in 2008. Where I argued
with VA leadership over the title and content of 3.317. Only to have VA bury our
final report and pretend we never existed. The ACGWV.
Gulf war vets had trouble being treated fairly back in the 90s and 2000s when DOD
and VA did listen. VA subverted the very nature of PL 105-368 so that it failed us.
As it made recommendations that 13 Sec of VA ignored over 24 years. This is one
of many laws Im trying to get amended no thanks to Congress. Staffers, Ugh.
3.317 completely failed. 93% rejection rate even right now. Its based on the UDX
clause of undiagnosed. Nothing in VA is undiagnosed any more. Just incorrectly.
The launder list is of no value. Even for me it failed. I had to go another route. Which
is why I stayed by this issue. In the end the whole thing needs to be scrapped and
simplified to date and time served. As its all a given now. Especially cancers.
So Sec of VA Doug Collins plans to meet in private with a VA / DOD puppet to
represent all 697,280 Gulf war vets. Ive been saying hell no based on Mr Browns
track record of subversion and self interest. He spent all his time on research
and not even that. Making sure that my comments were never posted for others
to see. As he does not hold up under scrutiny.
When I worked issues back in 2000, I walked over to the service groups offices
in DC to coordinate. I have plenty of photos, records, video and such of it. We
even wrote a joint letter to Sec of Defense. There were 33 groups back then. Until
certain people set out to drive others off.
DSBR is recognized or was buy VA and DOD. This makes this discrimination that
Im being excluded after requesting to attend. Im a subject matter expert having
learned the hard way over 28 years, Which is how I served on a healthcare and
benefits committee. I have not received cordial treatment from VA since 2020.
Even after confronting Sec of VA Dennis McDonould in DC.
I very much know what is wrong with 3.317 since we tried to amend it several
times with Congress. Was always the laundry list, never the buzz word – undiagnosed.
Keeping this status quo.
As long as DOW and VA keep meeting in secret with certain parties – its with the express
desire to keep things private. To let mistakes happen. Let it ride. Which is a insult
to those that fight for real change and dont see it.
Great benefit, but totally worthless with the crazy logon and re-logon requirements. This APP is for 70-90 year old Veterans, did any one tell the security designers this key requirement. My guess is NO. First step in designing an app for 70-90 year old veterans, should be: ease of use…FAIL.
Your ID.me and Login.gov literally SUCK. Many veterans in the age group have a hard time remembering what they had for lunch and you want them to remember the VA app password and the ID.me or the Login.gov password also. And did I mention if you forget your password because the APP logged you out, you have to provide your pass word, Drivers license even if you don’t have one and who knows what else.
I can log on to my bank and investment account with facial recognition or password saved on my Apple phone. Wakeup ….your APP well the login SUCKS.
I no longer have access to My Healthy Vet. I do not have a smart phone so how will this help us Vet that do not have access to all this useless information. Make it were all of us can use it.
I am very pleased with the VA care, but in trying to sign to “My Healthy Vet” the new sign feature is a nightmare! It won’t send text codes that work; I am not willing to create selfie or use my fingerprint and I have no idea regarding the recovery methods!
I thought the system was being designed to be user friendly, but apparently not…
For now I am locked out of “My Healthy Vet” and that’s disappointing!!!
I’m very pleased with the VA health and benefits application.
It offers the speed and efficiency I’ve come to expect. TY
What if the Veteran has a disability that prevents him from using any touchtone device which includes cellphones required to use this app. What if I choose not to use tech since I know it is not in my best interest to do so.
Doesn’t work with care in the community Appointments. Travel or listings.
How does one get this new app that you all have out here right now?I might be a senior citizen, but i’m more interested in knowing more about it.And how I can download it
Mr. Mack, You need to click either on the Apple App Store if you have an iPhone or Google Play Store if you have an android links above in order to download the App.
Does Windows EHealth site have same access to all the same data as on Vet Ehealth Mobile App? Does EHealth Mobile App require access to things such as browser cookies, history, cell phone location /history, email, contacts, data in local storage? If so – for what purpose and can settings for EHealth data collection be limited by cell phone end-user?
Very good information for all Veterans.
What’s the good information?
Banking closed. Due to charge. Disputes…also froze income auto deposits! How do I cget benefits back into financial facility?
Can you call the customer service line for assistance? 1-800-827-1000. They should be able to help change your automatic deposit info
I have the app and I think it’s great. My problem and concern is that it doesn’t have a LOGOUT when I’m done looking or reviewing my data. That is asking for trouble. It eventually logs itself out but I have always been very cautious and don’t know why it’s not available.
go to profile on home page then click on settings then click on sign out then click on sign on sign out at the bottom of page
Why do you make that so complicated?
Nice addition.
A list of my currently prescribed meds would be awesome.
A list of currently prescribed medicines!
Love the VA app especially for immediate Lab results without having to wait for Correspondence in the mail!!
I love the upgrading they have done for Veterans.
You also need to go to your nearest VA hospital to the registration desk and present your ID to be verified so you can unlock all the features avalible on the App.
The Library Service in VACHS San Juan, assist daily the Veterans to have the Id.me or Login.gov account. The first step is have the VA app in the cellphones. In the last year we complete over one thousand accounts!
Since this for my phone anyway, maybe make it easier the see. Please.
