Although the pandemic has caused Compensation & Pension examinations to accumulate, VBA has now safely resumed in-person exams everywhere in the country and will schedule them as soon as possible.

VA has implemented policy changes that enable broader use of the virtual Tele-C&P and Acceptable Clinical Evidence examination procedures by both the VHA and VBA contract examiners.

VBA’s recently established Medical Disability Examination Office (MDEO) will provide oversight of the contract examination program, to include monitoring contractor production, timeliness, quality and invoicing.

While using multiple approaches to reduce the backlog, VBA’s primary concern will always be the safety of Veterans and examination providers during the pandemic, and it remains committed to continuing this mission. To mitigate concerns, VBA has established safety procedures and protocols to complete the examinations that Veterans need to receive a decision on their benefit claims.

If your in-person examination was not completed due to the pandemic, you can reschedule directly with the contract vendor identified in your original appointment letter. All examinations completed at contract examination facilities are held to the same safety guidelines as those conducted at VA facilities.

I personally feel that the VA gives Vets the run around to discourage them from following through on their claim. I only received a claim approval when I sought out Civilian Doctors. This is not fair to Vets who have legitimate disabilities. I am still fighting to get my 100% since my discharge in 1968. Although I have six disabilities my rating is only 80%.
If the Civilian Doctor can give the Vet an evaluation that results in a positive result why can’t VA Doctors do the same thing?

I find all the comments unrelated to the article. The article is discussing disability claims and all my fellow Veterans are complaining about Treatment or Care. Compensation & Pension does not treat Veterans. The discussions are not relevant, seems like a platform for disgruntled Veterans to complain.

VA will never be allowed to assist veterans the way we need. Whether its emotional, monetarily, or special care.
Quality of life is all we ask. Its all we’ve ever wanted.
Every veteran has a different view of what their Quality consists of. NOT THE V.A.,or the Government.

We need to connect the dots by revealing the truth, and stand together in support of our valued veterans, and fight the good fight, what you say counts.

Darell Austin, you’re absolutely right. Sometimes sympathy is not even used for us (Veterans) when we’re fighting to find out what is going on with our health. People look at us as a number vice a human being… and some still treat us as if WE were not the people that allowed Americans to enjoy their OWN freedoms serving abroad in wars and conflicts that could have easily made their way to the states. Americans don’t realize, had it not been for our brothers and sisters in arms… they wouldn’t have the life perks they love. Keep fighting for equal justice, for you VA comp and pen, for your mental health, for EVERYTHING you served for! Because – WE DESERVE IT.

I need directions to get an appointment. I have IPF due to something called Sjogren disease. Thru research this can be cause by stress. No one in my family has or had it I started showing symptoms before I left IRaQ. I had a bad cough, tried over the counter did not help. Went to Doctor on serval occasions only to be told it just a couch and to take cough syrup. I learned I could suppress the couching by taking a shot of hard liquor. When I was referred to pulmonary specialist I told him what help to suppress the coughing. He prescribed couch syrup with cosine. That help. They took X-rays and learned that have of my lower lungs were white. Long story short I need help and I am lost and stressed out.

This is outstanding for those whom receive service . Veterans that have been abandond by administration sleight of hand haven’t noticed the difference. Many passed believing their country treated them with ancillary intent.

91% like a high water make at best.

9% no like . Of these how many pass unnecessarily by they’re own hand because VA does nothing mitigate the hate that disenfranchised them.

    “17.4 million
Veterans accounted for nearly 7% of the nation’s total population in 2019, but some states were home to far more veterans than others. New York had the lowest percentage of veterans, at 4.3%. In 2019, 17.4 million military veterans lived in the U.S., according to the U.S. Census Bureau.Nov 10, 2020”

    17.4 million x .09 = 1.6 mill. Is a lot of sadness.
How many of this class would never call crisis hot line and you know that?
How many last contacts ended with those autosuggestion in your depression screening.
Ie “Do you feel like your family would be better off with out you.” Seem like most of these words are echoed in final notes. A great education curriculum you have developed.

Auto suggestion is highly related to the placebo effect both have studies in VA library of course the willingness to continue the same failed policy is insane. After decades of experience i can repeat all these thinly veiled euphemisms verbatim.

9% is a lot of sadness. how many of 22 a day are within in this set of disenfranchised vets?
These are known poeple and known problems drowning of Apathy in you “se of empathy”
