VR&E Service will be hosting a federal virtual career fair for all Veteran job seekers on Friday, Nov. 19, from 12 – 3 p.m. ET.
In honor of Veterans Day, VA’s Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) Service is excited to announce its federal virtual career fair for all Veteran job seekers will be hosted on Friday, Nov. 19, from 12 – 3 p.m. ET.
VR&E will again partner with Microsoft Corporation, as well as the Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR). This event is a follow-up from the first VR&E and Microsoft virtual career fair that was held on July 30. Over 6,000 Veterans and 33 employers participated in that successful event.
The upcoming federal virtual career fair will feature 30 federal agencies who are committed to hiring Veterans. Each participating agency will have multiple job openings to fill with Veterans. The primary focus of the fair is computer science, business management, management analyst, information technology (A+, Net +, security +), customer support and software engineer positions. The job openings are nationwide.
Who is Eligible?
Any Veteran who is seeking a career in the computer science, business management, management analysis, information technology (A+, Net +, security +), customer support or software engineering industries.
When is the Event?
The event will be on Friday, Nov. 19, from 12 to 3 p.m. ET.
How to Register?

How does it Work?
Agency recruiters and representatives will have information on open jobs, be available for answering questions and live chatting with job seekers. Job seeking participants can visit the virtual booths of the hiring agencies they are interested in speaking with. Job seekers can also visit as many or as few booths as they like. Agency representatives can continue conversations with job seekers even after the job fair is over, as the virtual career fair’s connection and features will remain open all day.
What to Expect?
The virtual career fair will look very similar to a real-life, in-person career fair. Veteran job seekers can register and log in at the time of the event. They will enter a virtual hallway to see each agency’s booth. Job seeking participants enter a booth where they meet one of the agency’s representatives. Once in the booth, participants can check out the agency’s FAQs, apply to job vacancies, and post general questions in a group chat or directly message the employer.

I’m curious. I was very interested in the vacancies of employers accepting and/or having a need for IT professionals with that A+, Net+ and Sec+ as the minimum credential. I missed the job fair, but still curious if there was any cliff notes taken by anyone. If so, reach out to me.

Richard, if you can, take your services elsewhere. I had the extreme misfortune of working three years for the FAA as a 2101 ATSS, and it was the worst agency I ever worked for in my 35+ years of federal service.

It is obvious that IT professionals are badly needed by the US Government, look how long it took for this to be emailed out!
If you have avionics experience in NAV/COM or Radar look at the FAA. They have positions that maintain the nations Air Traffic Control systems. The position is a ATSS-2101 Airway Transportation Systems Specialist. Good Luck!

I can provide you with that. Location is EVERYWHERE the US Government operates. Lots and lots of openings. That is one of the purposes of a job fair and usajobs.

All applications from this career fair will be pulled by HR for consideration of all hiring authorities that’s available. The last event generated a lot of direct hires. Please don’t be discouraged if you see if a USAJOBS link because 1/4 of the participates at the last event were hired through the USAJOBS advertisement and/or direct links or email applications.
