Women Veterans program at Eastern Oklahoma VA hosted drive-thru baby showers in Muskogee and Tulsa to ease some of the new addition stress.

Twenty-five Veteran families received baby essentials, clothes, car seats and bedding. Community donors helped to make the third annual baby shower possible, this year a drive-thru event.

To honor and support Veterans welcoming new children into their families, 60 VA medical centers around the country will host baby showers between May 5-16, the weeks surrounding Mother’s Day.
Volunteers worked with the VA to plan the event, which gave the Houston-area women Veterans a chance to connect with other women Veterans and be honored for their service in the military.
