Community providers: Help protect eligible Veterans from the flu this winter with these five tips about their no-cost flu shot.
VA North Texas Health Care System is making it as easy for Veterans and employees to receive their flu shot with the drive-thru flu clinic Monday through Friday. “We are also accepting walk-ups.”
Last flu season, more than 27,000 Veterans came to VA hospitals with the flu. In addition, over 4,600 Veterans were hospitalized and 600 were in intensive care due to the flu.
Free flu shots will be available at all VA Medical Centers and Community Based Outpatient Clinics. And at the 9,600 Walgreens pharmacies. Just present your VA Health Identification Card and a photo ID.
Veterans who are currently enrolled in VA care may walk into any of the over 8,000 Walgreens nationally and the Duane Reade pharmacies in the New York metropolitan area to receive a vaccination at no cost.
