VA Privacy Service invites you to join its second VA Privacy in Action Speaker Series virtual event of the year, “Artificial Intelligence: How Algorithms Improve Veterans’ Lives,” on Wednesday, February 16, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. ET.

This educational event is an opportunity for Veterans, VA staff, federal employees and contractors to further their knowledge of how VA is using artificial intelligence, algorithms and other innovative technology to improve patient outcomes and the Veteran experience, while also protecting data privacy.

Subject matter experts will discuss how VA is applying these technologies to advance patient treatment, predict and prevent Veteran suicide, and further advance VA’s mission. They also will examine how protecting personally identifiable information and protected health information fit into this ever-growing field.

Speakers:

  • Rafael Fricks, computer engineer, VA National Artificial Intelligence Institute.
  • Richard Speidel, chief privacy officer, General Services Administration.

Steps to save the event on your calendar:

  • Go to the VA IT Campus.
  • Veterans can click “Continue as Guest.”
  • Click “Register” and/or “Add to calendar.”
  • Click “Save” if prompted and open the calendar download (usually on the lower left of your screen).
  • Click “Save and Close.”
