From July 13-15, VA will be hosting the Northern California Economic Development Initiative (EDI) for transitioning service members, Veterans, their spouses and family members. The EDI will provide vital tools that help the military and Veteran communities learn about VA benefits and Veteran initiatives, get help with claims, explore financial strategies for long-term success and offer military spouses benefits and career training.

Military spouses perform a vital public service to the nation, whether moving from duty station to duty station, caring for children, or maintaining daily routines and providing necessities of life in the home while the service member is deployed.

Each year, the VA Transition Assistance Program (TAP) provides information, tools and training to approximately 250,000 transitioning service members, ensuring service members and their families are prepared for transition from uniformed service. VA also encourages transitioning military spouses to take advantage of the transition assistance resources available in-person through VA benefits and services courses on military installations worldwide (on a space available basis) or online via www.tapevents.mil.

VA also invites all military spouses to learn more about VA benefits and services by visiting https://benefits.va.gov/transition/tap.asp. Also available online are 12 Military Life Cycle courses that can assessed at anytime from anywhere.

Transitioning from uniformed service is a team effort and VA thanks you for helping to ensure that your family’s transition is successful.
