does AFVC offer veterans international travel to Mexico for instance?
Yes! The resorts and hotels are worldwide.
We offer flights but the real savings are in the resorts, hotels, car rentals and more.
Really? They get my name and email BEFORE I can find out if they have any locations that I MIGHT want to go to?
Hi Kevyn- We get your info so we can continue to send you awesome monthly SALES and Promotions. We do NOT give your info out.
I used this program in Disney World. Great value, clean facilities and a short walk to the Disney transportation center.
Why am I not eligible for these type of benefits? I was married to my husband for 53 years before he passed away and was his caregiver for the last 5. Now I have to pay to go to a federal park? Not fair. It’s like all the love and support for all these years got tossed out the window when he passed away. I feel very disassociated now.
You should still be eligible. I would try to call and see if someone can help you. You are a widow of a service member.
I did go through and sign up for Armed Forces Vacation Club (AFVC). Created the login and booked a vacation. I have tried to login again and the website says incorrect login information. Which it was saved correctly. I also called the Hotel to verify the reservation, and they have no clue what I was talking about. Is this fraud on us Veterans?
1SG- AFVC is not a fraud. If you have any login or other issues there is a help desk number you can call to try and help you. It is on the AFVC website.
We have used Afvc for the last 10 years. It’s a great program. Some facilities do charge a fee when you arrive, and some do not. We have stayed in two of the resorts in Williamsburg VA, in Pennsylvania , in the Shenandoah Mountains, and in western Massachusetts . We have taken advantage of some of the sale offers where we pay less than the $409: At times getting two vacations for the price of one. We have the free membership and have really enjoyed it. We much appreciate this benefit as retirees.
Cheers to many more vacations thru AFVC! Thx
We are now fulltime retired RV travelers. Does the program have discounts for RV Parks and Resorts. We have hit frustrating rules set by base commanders on for FamCamps that exclude non-local Veterans.
9 year 90% DAV
I have not signed up for this yet, but still wanted to possibly help you. You can get the National Parks Lifetime Pass now for free. Entrance to National Parks are free, discount on others, and half off at COE RV parks.
Join the Elks or Moose Clubs to stay at certain lodges for free or low cost with memberships.
Join Harvest Hosts / Boonedockers Welcome…great places to stay, some free, some low pricing.
Thanks for your service. Go Army!
Not a very east site to navigate for searches. Ran a search that saved the search automatically and do not have any idea how to view what was saved. Also, a lot of promotion to upgrade to a Premium Membership. Might be good if you if travel a lot in a year.
Great News! Thank you so much!
Wow! Great news for Veteran affairs Employees as well!
I only had to do one search and price check to discover afvclub is just a front for standard vacation rentals. I found no price benefit for veterans and in most cases the price was higher than I can get else where like vrbo or airbnb.
Do yourself and Google this vacation club.
The results may surprise you.
rubbish writing
trash “benefit”
avoid
Hi Noto- Sounds like you’re not a fan of AFVC? It’s been around since 1999 w/ more than 2M+ members. Our FREE standard membership offers some great resort deals. -Yes you have to be flexible. Our hotel savings are good but to take advantage of the deepest savings you have to take advantage of PREMIUM membership. A few discounted stays and you actually make up for the paid PREMIUM. Give it a try.
I’m a 100% DAV. I’m trying to join. I put my phone # 3 ways & it’s in a red box that won’t change or accept it. I just saw Customer support. TY
Can you use Military Star Card to pay for your vacations. Do you offer Cruises? Jim the comments about the locations are usually found at the website for your vacation site. That doesn’t mean comment about any portion of the service can’t be mentioned.
Is this open to 100% disabled vets on vets pension?
Anyone with a DD214
I’m interested I
90% of the answers to questions that are being asked here can be answered if you simply log onto http://www.afvc.com.
Who ever approved armed forces vacation club as a benifit did not vet the facilities. They are all bottom of the barrel either under construction remodel or selected undesirable units set aside for rci or afvc. Weal and rip off program
Hi John- I would agree that resort facilities around the world vary in appearance. Overseas accommodations have different standards than US. AFVC does not own the resorts but expect high standards.
Afvc is not a true benifit most properties are not vetted and the bottom of the barrel. I lust tried booking 3 weeks in austrailia and new zealand. Horrible facilities
This ‘club’ literally has a less than 2 star rating when reviewed.
Its a SCAM network. Im a little sad the VA is advertising this.
Hi Daniel- AFVC is NOT a scam. You do have to be flexible when searching resorts especially for the price point starting at $409 per 7-night stay.
The site is currently undergoing maintenance and not reachable? During the middle of the day on a Thursday?
I am 80% disabled.
I wish we could get free or deeply discounted flights on military aircraft, too. I mean, if they’re not loaded w/troops, why not? I’d even hop on a ship, & i’m seasick just thinking of it.
thanks for not publishing my comment – weak
this program is also weak – but you knew that, right?
Thank God for this best refreshing benefit.
count me in!
I have tried over and over to open the website and it will not open, is this another scam
NOT a scam! Reach out to help desk. Number found on AFVC site.
Sounds like any other Company trying to make a buck off Military folks. Show actual trips and costs not promise advertizing Nonsense. We’ve had enough of that.
The AFVC website is not accessible 10-5-23
Can a spouse of a 100% disabled veteran
Become a Member?
My husband is deceased.
I’m survivor veteran spouse -can I enroll on this service ?
Please can we actually have a comment from someone who utilized the program instead of all these Questions
Seems like a sweet deal but the page doesn’t load.
nope – just don’t do it
it is an instant upsell with hidden fees
I was recently a guest of a nonAFVC vacation club member. The hotel we stayed at is listed in the AFVC list of choices. The pitch to attend a meeting about vacation club/time share was overbearing. And, to add insult to injury, to attend this meeting you had to give them and upfront/refundable fee of $50.
I definitely need to read comments from actual users. It sounds too good to be true.
I am looking for good vation packages.
Armed Forces Vacation Club has a rating of 1.53 stars from 19 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Armed Forces Vacation Club ranks 453rd among Vacation sites.

Can a Military widow of a service connected veteran apply for the program?
Click to the next page of this page. It appears thatGold Member families are also eligible for membership.
Do the benefits apply to widows of 100% disabled Veterans ?
Sounds like VA approved but just using that for advertising… read the disclaimer link and statement of endorsement.
More tricky advertising luring in vets that may need extra or special help especially the disabled.
Thnx but please say I’m wrong ??
How is making the money from this deal. Private or public sector?
When and where.
Looking forward to a good vacation
Can a veteran’s caregiver/widow apply for AFVC?
Are widows of disabled Vietnam vets eligible?
How can I find out about resorts and hotels.
I’m reading reviews and it looks like you get more charges once you reach a hotel or resort, so in the end you’re not really saving any money and it seems more of a hassle.
spot on – give it all a hard pass
Would definitely like to see some informed information in regards to this post. If what this post suggests is accurate, I’d really like to hear more from those that have experienced same.
Am I as wife of 100% disabled deceased veteran eligible?
Thank you for offering this affordable opportunity to vacation.
I would like to plan a trip to Alaska.
I did not see it listed in travel options. Is there a plan for Alaska?
Maybe I can help you with that. I live in Anchorage Alaska and lived up here since 1988. What are you looking to do here?
Are there any cruise ship vacations offered in this club?
Why is the VA promoting a service that has such bad reviews online (1.53 out of 5 at https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/afvclub.com)?
I think this is a « buyer beware) moment.
Hi Ben- yes only thru the PREMIUM membership
They cheapened it as soon as they included civilian employees…
I hate to put this here, but the AFVC is no longer a valid “good deal” and there is no longer any oversight by any military agency. When I used them a couple decades ago, it was very decent. However, now it’s a money grab to get you to join their “premium” access. True, the stated rates are very good. However, do your research! There have been hundreds of stories of the properties being run down, dirty, and often lots of unexpected “fees” once you actually arrive to check-in.
If you’ve had a recent positive experience, please post it…I would love to be proven wrong.
am widow of 100% disabled vet, do I quality
Very nice thank you for letting me know I thank you for your time and help
Veterans should beware of the “Armed Forces Vacation Club.” Many of their “$200-7 day stays” also charge you a RESORT FEE of $200+ per person, per day. Children get charged $200 per day too! VA should use caution when promoting these bookers.
Your invitation to join has arrived at a wonderful time. My wife and I have been planning and preparing for some upcoming vacation ideas. We look forward to receiving membership information for our plans.Thank you.
Are there wheelchair bound vacations?
Hi Robert, Have you received a response to your question? I have the same question.
Hi Robert- Thanks for your question- we do not have actual “wheelchair bound vacations” but we do offer resorts that are wheelchair accessible. (See FILTER and then Other options)
How do I koin
I am a 70% disabled veteran, do I qualify for this program?
Thank you
We are caregivers for a 92 old alzheimers mother very difficult to care for but wiling to try this unique free vacation club. We need more info supplied to us.
This is great marketing, but also very predatory for veterans/service members. You can unlock all deals or get “better” deals with a membership. Of course their “membership” looks very aggressive if you sign up for 3 years.
A quick look at regular bookings and AirBNB and other services are way cheaper. My credit card points and other apps like hopper would give me way better pricing on hotels than the 4-5 dollars you save on this site.
Looking further at some of their more attractive “deals” I noticed that they have Tripadvisor reviews and ratings tied to some of their destination deals. Funny, because they mislabel some of their resort names. A quick search of a resort that I see a name on the AFVclub site on the TripAdvisor site it is not the same. Further digging in it actually isn’t the same and the name quickly switches once I click on a review from the AFVclub site.
The AFVclub site has no verification process if you are a Veteran/service member, so what this tells me is they want you to sign up and grab your information, then they want you to sign up for a “premium” membership that promises you will “save” more money after spending money to find out.
This sounds like the same scams that people use to take Veterans and service members money.
Curious if the VA gets a kick back for publishing this article.
Well- that is a verbose article that does not tell the whole story. Links are broken as well.
Here is a more informative paragraph from the part of the ‘club’ site that does load
“Armed Forces Vacation Club. A membership with Armed Forces Vacation Club is always free, but upgrading to premium offers a world of exclusive vacation benefits and deeper discounts. Choose from one-year membership for only $119 or save an additional $100 and upgrade to a three-year membership for $249.”
So this is a poorly writtne ad for a club that will upsell memberships. May be a good deal for some – but the perks and bennies are not all free. Rebecca Larin might have mentioned that in her prose-y write up.
I am a proud veteran widow. Will I be allowed to take part in this great opportunity?
Hi Pam, yes you can
Do disabled vets qualify
All vets qualify, disabled or not.
Are cruises included in options?
Is this available to a veteran’s widow?
I would also like more info on this program and the deals that are offered, seeing those first to decide if I join or not. Thank you
Many resort, island, Caribbean destinations out of reach to we vets. Mandatory all inclusive charges 300 dollars per person per day and more, unless you are a retired general families have little to no choices. I have used this service have found almost not worth the bother.

Are retired US Public Heath Service members accepted and if not why, we receive all other military benefits including VA.
What’s the cost?
I’ve read so many negative reviews about this veterans vacation club. I’m wondering why the VA has wasted time and money promoting this business. Seems like there’s a lot of wasted funding. Many veterans will assume this is a legit and cost savings club where in reality it isn’t.
Is this available to spouse of recently deceased members of WWII?
Where can I get the medications I need if they are exhausted? Is it not better to obtained enough medication before an extended vacation
Looking forward to forthcoming vacation offers.!!!
Sounds Great.!!
Would like more information on how to join.
I have never heard of this club. so, I did a search and found a review of many disfavorable comments.
I am curious if the VA or the person who wrote this article check out complaibts against this vacation club
I am glad I searched. I wont be joining.
My wife and I are thinking about going to Hawaii. But we need help since I am handicapped (100% by the VA).
Very interested and appreciate this opportunity.
They do mention “all inclusive” options and mandatory resort fees. You probably have to be very careful and read the fine print. I am leery. What sounds too good to be true most time is just that. I would like to see more comments from actual AFVC users.
Hi John- We do have AI inventory. Some inventory is OPTIONAL & other MANDATORY as you stated. The AI fees are all controlled by the actual resort. The accommodations are booked through AFVC. – so it is best to do your due diligence and you can also reach out to our call center with additional questions.
Not working link
Are there any ally inclusive packages with AFVC?
A basic search on Google results in several 1 or 1.5 star ratings from Veterans with similarly poor experiences when booking vacations through AFVC. I’m totally confused why this news source would recommend an organization that doesn’t honor Veterans, but seems to exploit their status.
I want to join this Veterans group for traveling. I am a 100% service connect Veteran.
Give me links around the country..
Why is the VA supporting this outfit? This vacation company has terrible reviews from customers – it sounds like a scam.
I am leery myself. What sounds too good to be true usually is. I was recently a guest of a nonAFVC vacation club member. The check in process was delayed by a high pressured sales pitch to attend a vaca club/time share meeting. The rest of the stay was most enjoyable.
Can you point me in the direction of the reviews you referred to?
What a breath of fresh air, to hear of this!
Something like this had been on my mind but with linking up of like-minded people to create travel groups for safety while traveling, as well as enjoy group rates for discounts.
I am a military widow of a husband who died as a result of Agent Orange who was honorably discharged from the military. Am I eligible ?
Read reviews.
This site is horrible.
BEWARE: Armed Forces Vacation Club is run by a timeshare company. They offer great week vacations at very low prices and I use and support the normal AFVC service. However, be warned, they also sell what they call “Resort Vacation Certificates”. They will send an email offering one week vacation stays for $100 less than the normal price and even as low as $300 per week. I fell for this scam. I assumed the locations and venues available on Armed Forces Vacation Club would be available for these reduced prices and I purchased two certificates. When I went to use them I discovered only a few places available for the reduced price and none of them were good. Canada in winter for example is available. A few places in Orlando. Then when I went to use the Orlando location during my granddaughter’s Cheerleading competition, nothing was available in Orlando. Clearly they block dates when there are big events going on. These two certificates are useless. Complete waste of $600.
Hi Mario- AFVC is part of the iconic Travel & Leisure Co. who also owns RCI (timeshare exchange company). In regards to RVCs- you can preview resort inventory before you book. Yes you have to be flexible.
I’m surprised they are advertising for this. A quick Google search shows a slew of 1 star reviews. People say the advertised prices are low and once they got to the resort, they owed thousands more.
Just one of the review sites – https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/afvclub.com
Be careful and do research if you use them, look scammy to me.
So did an internet search for reviews on the Armed Forces Vacation Club and found poor reviews and low ratings. Do your research on any company offering special deals for veterans and generally you’ll see they aren’t so special.
Does membership include disabled American veterans?
Good news.
This club sucks major ass…don’t do ot.
I wish surviving families ,widows could get this as sometimes we find cost of get sways beyond our means thank you
so, where are the resorts……………..must be a scam
Are there any handicap resorts?
AFVC: Can’t apply???
What about the spouse/family of a deceased veteran?
Tell me how I can fill out the paper work to join
I’m a Vietnam vet I did 15 years 5 dd214
Do have to be 20 year
I on 100% disability with the VA and SS
Can Military widows
of a Retired Combat Vet apply?
Yes they can
Yes I was wondering the same thing ? I’m a widow as well .
I would think, as in other like sites, if you have a Dependent ID card (Widow), from the sponsor (deceased), you should be able to apply. Once again, under the DEERS system, proper identified widows/and or widow in some cases, retain the “rights and privileges” of various programs based on their “deceased” sponsor. It is also very important than when a “sponsor” dies, that the once dependent member applies for a new ID card indicating their new status.
Can military widows of a retired combat vet apply?
I also would like to know if widows of veterans of foreign wars can apply.
Your kidding right? Who can afford to go anywhere. This is a sick joke . Why don’t you take a moment and look around. Fixed income people are losing more money each month. And are just trying to pay rent and put food on the table.
You have a retired military dependent ID card so you are still part of our vet team, so it looks like you can still join.
We don’t see an answer to this person’s question regarding can Military widows apply?
Also, can widows of any retired veterans apply ?
Can Military widows Vet apply?
I am the surviving spouse of a 25 year service retired Army officer. I have a DOD retired military spouse/widow ID card with full dependent entitlements and an INDEF expiration. My husband had 100% VA disability in 3 Vietnam Agent Orange Categories (paid VA 100% disability for 1 category), and he earned a Purple Heart from injuries received in a Viet Cong bombing. I collect VA Dependent Indemnity Compensation (DIC) and his Army Survivors Benefit Plan (SBP) election. I qualify for programs such as VET-TIX, and MWR benefits also. Do I qualify for the AF Vacation Club? I was his sole primary care provider during his many years long Alzheimer’s Disease. I feel like I not only should qualify, but deserve a vacation club benefit for my service to him!
Can Good Star Widow’s apply?
Can a widow of a vet who had 100% service related disability join this club?
I’m wondering if a widow of a 100% disabled veteran is eligible to join
Need would like more info on the this program .
