Millions of Veterans embrace life in rural communities, and VA has dedicated many resources to meeting them where they live.
With hundreds of medical centers and facilities across the nation dedicated to serving our rural Veteran population, there are countless opportunities for you to join our team and embrace those same small-town benefits.
“When I moved to this area, I moved to this area for a lot of reasons, and one of which was to be closer to where I worked. I like being somewhere where I am close enough to the city that I can drive into it any time, but far enough away that I feel like I’m in the country,” explained Curtis Raybuck, a supervisory human resources specialist at VA Butler Health Care System in Pennsylvania.
“What I love about this area is that it’s a small-town feeling. Everybody knows everybody,” agreed Dr. Victoria Prutz, dental chief at Butler VAMC.
With that smaller sense of community comes many opportunities: to relax, to develop, to advance, to learn. A job at a rural VA may be just the thing you need to help your career thrive and to help you find the right balance between life and work.
