It’s National Toothache Day, and where would we be without the VA dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and lab techs who help put smiles back on the faces of Veterans every day?

A dentist at VA does all the same work you might expect from a dentist anywhere: cavity fillings, crowns, dentures, implants, teeth extractions, root canals, exams, scans and more. The difference at VA, though, is that we empower our dentists to deliver the highest quality health care in a time frame that works for Veterans and providers.

That’s because our mission isn’t about the bottom line. Instead, we hold ourselves to a higher standard: “I CARE.” By caring for our patients with integrity, commitment, advocacy, respect and excellence, we define who we are as VA employees and how we will fulfill our mission of service to Veterans.

In turn, VA rewards all our employees with access to better benefits that make a difference in the way we see our work. Whether it’s promoting a better work-life balance for you and your loved ones or taking your career wherever you want to go with one unrestricted national license, you can rest assured that we want you to be as happy as you make our Veterans.

It’s a big mistake. So many Veterans have died from dental diseases that could have been prevented with just a little dental education and hygiene.

WHY DO THE VA JUST COVER A SELECT FEW WHEN IT COMES TO DENTAL? THIS IS RIDICULOUS ESPECIALLY WHEN WE ALL SERVED OUR COUNTRY? PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME WHY THE VA CAN’T CREATE A PROGRAM FOR US THAT DON’T QUALIFY UNDER YOUR NORMAL BS GUIDELINES!!!! THANKS

Yes only if the Veteran is 100% disabled…… any other rating are forgotten. What a bunch of LIES!! Care for the employees and the Veterans are not worth the time…. The Syracuse VA has a new office outside the hospital with best equipment and great rooms, but I guess that’s for the employees ONLY.
They must have been laughing when they wrote this comment…” That’s because our mission isn’t about the bottom line. Prove me wrong, I DARE YOU!!!

Article leaves impression VA dentistry is provided to all Veterans!

Agreed it should but VA does not!!

    “Suggest an update to qualifiers!”

Appreciate your comments generally but this one was misleading!

Who’s Kidding Who’s? VA built a brand new Clinic here in Youngstown Ohio. Tons of room and never has there been any mention of a Dental facility. That would be wonderful.

The VA/VBA should be required to cover all veterans for 100% dental. No co-pays.
