I’m in southern California: in need to work. Worked for VA Las Angeles for many years GS 11.
I am currently working in a virtual position. I’m stuck in a GS 6 position but qualified for a GS 11 and have been at the VA for that past 24 years. I have a BSIT degree. I have been trying to find a virtual HR position and I have not received any feedback on positions I have applied for in USA Jobs. The last few years I have been working with National scheduling for Neurology in TMP for our local VA. I also would love to work WITH National. Is there any assistance that can be given?
JROTC is hiring veterans in High Schools nationwide! It is a great job that is extremely rewarding. Just search for JROTC and the branch you served in to see openings and qualifications. Many states offer the opportunity to build another retirement income, Holidays and most summers off with additional paid time off.

Any jobs for the Lawton Fort Sill area?
All the info you provide is great, but even with all that I still feel helpless, lost in a crowd people and mostly alone! No, I’m not suicidal, I’m angry amd frustrated as a veteran that can’t find a federal job no matter how many events I attended. No matter how many applications for federal jobs I apply for, not how many list and groups I sign up for, NOTHING has ever been beneficial in any way!
I’m no closer now than I was a year ago, I’m actually worse off now! There are always plenty of jobs advertised and open to fill, nit NONE are ever for a simple Adminstrative role of my specialty – Executive Assistant. None are EVER in the DFW metro where I live.
The whole “we want and we hire Vets” just gets old in hearing when that cheer or slogan is never for you/me!
