This week, we will celebrate National Hire a Veteran Day, which serves as a chance to honor the service and skills of Veterans nationwide.
This special day is set aside to raise awareness of civilian employment for transitioning service members and Veterans after their military service, a call to action for those who hire and those who apply.
Every day, hundreds of our military personnel leave the service in search of civilian employment. On July 25, National Hire a Veteran Day reminds employers to consider Veterans to fill their open positions, as their skills and training make them ideal candidates for numerous jobs.
Including here at VA.
We’ve made numerous resources available for Veterans like you who want to continue their public service and shift to a civilian career. We regularly feature blog posts offering tips and advice and information about jobs that fit your skill set.
We also have a page on our site dedicated to Veterans and transitioning military personnel which includes those same searches, already pre-filtered, as well as links to promoted career fields and additional VA resources.

Typical governemtn ies. I have been applying to an outhouse called hayley va hospital. YES i am fully qualified but due to vet discrimination I have been refused employment. In fact my skills and abilities are at a higher skill level that the requirements in the announcements but outhouse hayley refuses vet preference. In fact they are spending money by the pound to keep veterans from employment and their workstaff is only 25% veteran. Positions that vets apply for have been given to non-vets because the outhouse refuses vet preference. Not to mention that i have tried to get the outhouse into a plan to reduce vet suicide and vet homeless. These unpatriotic liars REFUSED!
Classy. What do you expect from an outhouse va
I am totally confused: I am informed that there is a hiring freeze!!! So why are you advertising jobs?
