At Musicians On Call (MOC), every day is Veterans Day. Since 2009, MOC has been bringing the healing power of live and recorded music to VA health care facilities across the country. Through its unique programs, Musicians On Call uses volunteer guides and musicians to share their talents virtually and in-person. They use music as a universal language to bring joy, comfort and hope to Veteran patients, their family members and caregivers during their hospital experiences. To date, MOC volunteers have performed for more than 100,000 hospitalized Veterans all over the country.

“Laying in the VA hospital was feeling so bleak and so alone. Enter two folks from Musicians On Call and the fog lifted–music was fine–it was the enthusiasm and the joy with which we were serenaded. Thank you so very much!” said one Veteran at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center in Boston.

This year, Musicians On Call is once again hosting “Concert For Veterans,” a special virtual concert that bridges the gap between hospital walls and our nation’s celebration of Veterans Day. Hosted by Purple Heart recipient, Army Veteran and Black River Recording artist Scotty Hasting, the event will feature heartfelt messages of gratitude from popular artists and curated performances from the Grand Ole Opry stage. Tune in to see country music favorites like Craig Morgan, Scotty McCreery, Sara Evans, Dustin Lynch, Bellamy Brothers and more!

This concert will be available to stream through Nov. 25, 2024. Click the button below to watch the concert and use the passcode: vrcn

“I appreciate all the performers sharing songs with Veterans. [They are] loving caring people. Thank you so much. I am a disabled Veteran [at] Prescott Valley VA Hospital. MOC is a great program. Thank you all for sharing time, energy, and love with others,” shared a Veteran patient at Prescott Valley VA in Arizona.

I am a Musician, Writer, Author, Composer. I have for years trying to play my music for the Veterans, ever since the VA eliminated music when they are at the Cumberland State Park in R.I.. I played there in 2014 and 2015. I saw your posting about MOC (Musicians On Call) I am interested in playing for Veterans as I play for the homeless every Saturday morning while my church is feeding them @ Kennedy Plaza in Prov. R.I.

Hi to whom it may concern I have a few questions. First I would like to ask how musicians get signed up for this? What is the criteria? And how often do you have these live performances? I have several recommendations and a cousin, Tommy Gilliland who has a recording studio in Eagleville MO. His clientele is mostly religious based. This could provide location and opportunity for the live streams. And a collaboration of recordings opportunity.
Thank you for your time and attention regarding my inquiry. I look forward to hearing back from someone.
    Gob Bless!

Tried to listen to concert, as I am a musician and could not get in. I am neither a patient or family or staff. Just a veteran who likes music. Why can I not get in to listen ?

“Still” Bill Moran here. I would consider performing at the Buffalo NY VA Hospital or the Gainesville FL Hospital {this winter}. I am a Cold War Nam Era Veteran presently playing guitar and singing at retirement homes and also for memory units. I play mostly 1960s folk songs, some material from the 70’s, and a few novelty songs along with some songs of peace and positivity. Feel free to contact me if this is something of interest to you.

No access code given. Not sure why you’re concerned about accessing third-party sites when you don’t give an access code for it anyways.
