VA released its audit summary on Veteran access to care. The audit assesses the integrity of the Veterans Health Administration’s scheduling and access management practices, makes recommendations about policies and sets a course for system-wide improvement.

    Sgt. My name Chris, I am the Sr. Chief. Operations Director…Yes their is a Answers. 1st of all ona statement of claim for m.Tyour Regional Office. Stating the Damages Done. Do each claim seperate, Mailed separately. On the 1st line of statements is this. I HERE BY GIVE VA (name the hospitathis NOTICE A FEDERAL TORT. ACTION OF THE HARM CREATED IN MEDICAL CARE…GET DATES, DR. NITES PROGRESS REPORTS. Get at records Dept. They have 6 months to respond, If Ni RESPONSES ARE MADE. GO TO FEDERAL COURT HOUSE Ask for a waiver and File Complaints, they see a notice was sent to VA, You AUTOMATICALLY WIN. ASK FOR A MINIMUM OF 1 MILLION MINIMUM TO THE MAXIMUM OF 3 MILLION.

      I am thoroughly embarrassed by your response above. Did you not read before you submitted, or do you not know how to write in English? The response you provided epitomizes the type of incompetency that is being blasted across the media.
      You are a senior Chief Operations Director, and you have a responsibility to represent the VA in a positive manner…….

    Why must services vary from one VAMC to the other?
    I have been served by Butler (PA), Pittsburgh (PA) and currently the Houston (TX) Medical Center.
    While in Pittsburgh as a four-year Vietnam-era enlistee, I received all forms of medical treatment down to all phases of dental work up to cardiac services including a high-tech heart pacemaker and even toenail trimming because I am diabetic.
    After coming down to Houston three years ago, I( enrolled in the Michael DeBakey medical center to be told by a gruff dentist that I could not receive dental work even though treatment had already begun in Pittsburgh. I also learned by there are no podiatrists on call to clip my toenails.
    The latter I don’t care about, but I also found I had to pay $50 for each medical appointment in Houston when I paid nothing for appointments in all but cardiac services. Now, I am paying an average of approximately $200 a month for medicines and appointments, a figure much higher than I ever had to pay in Pittsburgh or Butler.
    The inequities are obvious. The extra treatment I received in Pittsburgh was very much appreciated by this Navy grunt, but isn’t it better to maintain an equal standard of treatment among all VAMCs in the system?

    Each and every Veteran served their Country in whatever position they were assigned.
    Whether in combat and/or support positions. Those Veterans and their spouses and immediate dependents, should be afforded full medical coverage without exception to include not only Medical but Dental and Vision as well. The Private Insurance Companies and any other for profit Corporation should be prohibited from participating in this system. If no available room in the VA system then they should be sent to public Health Care systems including private Doctors, Dentist, and Opticians as well as Private not for profit Hospitals.

    How can the hospital admin run the hospital when they do not know what is going on and they can not be reached no matter what.

      It is expected that the higher level administrators are held accountable, but useless unless all who are found as participants are held accountable also. By being held accountable I mean at a minimum fired! No one who works for the VA in any capacity should be immune from the consequences of their actions. Real bottom top top change is needed, not just a publicity spin! v/r Kris R Fullington

    Even when I envoled my Congressman it didn’t help. In fact VA comp and pen used it against me and took some of my claims from me. And deffered the rest.Plus doing a review to take more. Va ‘s words exactly. I am a Retired Army Sergeant Major I retired Oct 2011. I served in viet nam 3 tours, Afghainstan 4 1 year tours iraq 1 tour, . My body is beat up. Va refuses to give me 100 %. I have had 10 surgeries all over my body. More surgeries to do.

    It does nothing to file a complaint with congress. VA blows it off.

    There are minnie thing the Veterans Administration need to change and number one on the list is free Dental for every Honorable Discharge Veteran not just for some we all gave in time of peace and war not only war zone Veteran suffer we all did no matter we were sent.

      The VA can not change the regulation, it has to be done by congress

      I agree wholeheartedly. Santa Rosa has state of the art dentistry equipment some eight miles out in the boonies where only the affluent can access. What veterans has access to these facilities. No one that we know.

    Don’t forget Sen. John McCain did nothing for years about veterans complaints about the Phoenix VA healthcare problems. He only acted when the scandal became too much for him to continue to ignore.
