As valued members of VA’s patient care teams, our occupational therapists contribute directly to the interdisciplinary process of planning for patient care, and they apply the latest advances in rehabilitative treatment to create the very best patient care plans for our Nation’s Veterans.
Christine, an occupational therapist at VA Southern Nevada Health Care System, explains her role in improving Veterans’ functional abilities outside the hospital environment.
Christine knows that her responsibility as an occupational therapist fits in to the larger model of providing patient-driven, proactive, personalized, team-based care. “My goal here at VA is to not only feel like I am rehabilitating them physically, but really to help them transition emotionally and mentally as well,” she says.
If you have an interest in serving those who have served our country, while pioneering advancements and research in your field, then a career as an occupational therapist with VA could be a great fit for you. To learn more, and to apply, visit VAcareers.va.gov today.
