Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Marine Corps and Army Veteran Chandra Duncan Ramsey.
Chandra joined the Marine Corps in 1981. Following basic training, she was trained as an Air Traffic Controller at Memphis Naval Air Station. She worked in radar and airport operations at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, then Iwakuni, Japan and later on a deployment to Korea.
After separating from the Marine Corps, Chandra enlisted in the Army, where she was stationed in Ansbach, Germany while working in Air Traffic Control and as a mechanic.
Chandra settled in El Paso, Texas where she worked for the local police department for 16 years as a 911 dispatcher. She then moved to Corpus Christi to attend nursing school, graduating top of her class. She currently works for the Flour Bluff School district.
Thank you for your service, Chandra!
