Cpl. Ralph Garcia served in the U.S. Army from February 1952 – May 1953. He was stationed in Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, and then served in South Korea. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, United Nations Service Medal, one Overseas Service Bar and a National Defense Service Medal.
After the Army, Ralph spent his career serving the public at the U.S. Postal Service. He has been married to the love of his life, Rosa, for 60 years and has three grown daughters who have given him seven amazing grandchildren, three boys and four girls. His days are busy working and spending time with his family and friends in Greenwich, Connecticut. He is artistic and loves to draw. His favorite pastime is supporting the New York Mets – he never misses a game!
Today Ralph celebrates his 86th birthday. Happy Birthday, Ralph, and thank you for your service!
