Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Edwin Ortiz.
Edwin was born in Panama to Puerto Rican parents. His father was an Army Staff Sergeant working in the medical field.
Edwin decided to follow in his footsteps by joining the Army in 1975.
He was an S-3 Operations Officer in the 22nd Signal Brigade in Frankfurt, Germany He spent time with the 11th Armored Regiment and with the 10th Special Forces Group. He was also involved in Operation Democracy in Haiti.
He retired in 1995.
Edwin currently serves as a Veteran Service Officer support Veterans in the Tampa Bay area.
