Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Navy World War II Veteran Leonard L. Crawford.
Leonard served as a radio operator aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Midway, in 1945. He was first stationed at Norfolk, Virginia. During his time in the Navy, he also served in Trinidad, Iceland and the North Sea.
In 2007, Leonard made a special trip to visit the USS Midway, which is now part of the USS Midway Museum located in San Diego.
Leonard currently resides in Broadalbin, New York and will soon celebrate his 90th birthday.
Thank you for your service, Leonard!
