On Friday, VA secretary Dr. David Shulkin joined #StandTo, a national Veterans convention hosted by the President George W. Bush Institute’s Military Service Initiative. Shulkin joined key leaders who gathered in Washington, D.C, to discuss ways to improve outcomes for Veterans.
In opening the conference, former president George W. Bush spoke on the dedication of those working at VA. “The vast majority of people who work for [VA] care deeply about helping our Vets transition” out of military service,” Bush said.
According to the George W. Bush Presidential Center, “In an effort to create more collaboration and coordination in the Veteran service space, the Bush Institute’s Stand-To will bring together more than 70 partner organizations from across the public, private, and non-profit sectors to help ensure every Veteran is able to lead a full and meaningful life by achieving optimal health and well-being, and leveraging education and employment opportunities.”
The VA secretary was a featured speaker, interviewed onstage by Bryan Bender of Politico. “We’ve been changing the way that we think about health care, to focus not so much on disease, but on well-being,” Shulkin told the audience.
“Our system should be incentivizing health and well-being,” Shulkin said when asked about what he sees as the future of VA health care. “How can we essentially enhance the outcomes of our system to help people?”
“VA has done a great job in keeping itself in a bi-partisan dialogue and I am committed to ensuring that VA and Veterans do not become part of the political discussion,” Shulkin added.

The common name for it is Round Foot. ask you Doctor to refer you to a foot specialist for it.

Sad
The Oakland and Sacramento Offices have their O.I.G. COPS who are criminals. They took my husbands DD 214 and they canceled his Dis. Benefits it only took them 69 days to wipe him out! Now according to them, my husband has NO disability’s and even though he is a KOREAN POW and 85 years old it’s OK to abuse him , call him a criminal, lie to the court and do anything to get him OFF their payroll! I am this veterans 90 year old wife, he can no longer find his words easily, so I am his voice. I will not stop fighting for his Civil Rights & his Dignity until I find someone who REALLY cares about the unbelievable egress actions taken against this veteran and get his Dis. Benefit restored and they are punished for their actions!
