Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Dodson Moore Curry.

Dodson, a newly wed physician, was just beginning to expand his practice and had started planning his first house when he got the call to serve in the Korean War. Even after he got on a plane for the Far East, Curry still couldn’t believe that he was going off to war. Though he was stationed for a time in a field hospital near the front lines, perhaps his most memorable experience in the service was a two-tiered party for servicemen held at a resort hotel in Japan.

Dodson served in the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team and the 8147th AU Maintenance Training School.

Thank you for your service, Dodson!

Veterans History Project

This #VeteranOfTheDay profile was created with interviews submitted to the Veterans History Project. The project collects, preserves, and makes accessible the personal accounts of American war Veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war.
