Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Marine Corps Veteran Robert Carlos Pahcheka. Robert served for 255 days.

Robert enlisted on Feb. 9, 1968. He completed boot camp in San Diego, California and individual training regiment at Camp Pendleton, California. Robert arrived in Vietnam in August and was assigned as a rifleman with H Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. On Oct. 22, 1968, he was killed from an exploding satchel charge on Hill 10 or Hand Grenade Hill in Quang Nam Province. His final resting place is in Indiahoma, Oklahoma.

For his service, Robert was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign with 1960 Device and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross.
