Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Navy Veteran Jennifer Marshall. Jennifer served from 1999 to 2004.
Jennifer served as an aviation storekeeper and later a logistics specialist. She was stationed at Naval Outlying Landing Field San Nicolas Island where she worked at the air terminal and the supply warehouse. Her next duty station was the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the USS Theodore Roosevelt. Jennifer then homeported in Norfolk, Virginia.
As an aviation storekeeper, Jennifer worked in the Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department providing jet mechanics and technicians the supplies to keep the planes flying. In 2003, Jennifer deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom onboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt. When the ship was in port, she served on the ship’s Security Defense Force and while at sea, she was a member of the Repair Locker Fire Team.
Since leaving the military, Jennifer has devoted hundreds of volunteer hours to helping Veterans in the Los Angeles, California area. Her volunteer work with the award-winning non-profit, Pin-Ups for Vets, has helped to raise tens of thousands of dollars to purchase necessary rehab equipment for Veterans.
