Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran David Gray. David first served as a medic and later as a commissioned officer with the 24th Infantry Division. David was deployed as a platoon leader and worked on division staff during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
During the war, David developed an integrated air defense coverage for the division’s move into Iraq. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
After leaving military service, David worked in retail management with Sam’s Club and Home Depot. At the height of his retail career, he managed the Atlanta market for Sam’s Club, generating sales of more than half a billion dollars annually.
David is always seeking ways to learn—from retail to healthcare. He currently serves as the service chief and program manager for the Transition and Care Management Team at the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System. This team works with seriously ill and injured post 9/11 Veterans. David has traveled across the country investigating best practices, exploring family development programs, and challenging disabled Veterans to re-warrior up.
Thank you for your service, David!
