#VeteranOfTheDay Marine Corps Veteran Bradley Edwin Nay

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is U.S. Marine Corps Veteran Bradley Edwin Nay. Bradley served during the Vietnam War from January 1968 through June 1974.

At the age of 19 and just out of high school, Bradley decided to join the Marine Corps in January 1968. Bradley’s skill and efficiency as a leader was quickly recognized, and he became a Machine Gun Team Leader later that year. He led several movements to success during five major operations while stationed in Vietnam. Bradley served with Alpha Company, First Battalion, First Marines, First Marine Division. Throughout his service, Bradley made combat readiness a top priority for himself and his units and continually displayed courage and composure while working under adverse conditions and during combat. For his service, Bradley received the Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and other awards.

After leaving the service, Bradley married and worked in Chicago for the remainder of his years. Bradley passed away, surrounded by loved ones on Nov. 16, 2012 due to cancer.
