Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Joseph C. Giammearse. Joseph served during the Vietnam War.
After completing advanced infantry training and Airborne Jump school, Joseph was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. On April 6, 1970, he went to Vietnam where he was stationed at Landing Zone English Military Base outside the village of Bong Son. He worked there as a cook for the HHC 2nd Airborne 503rd Infantry 173rd Airborne Brigade until 1971. Joseph now lives in New Jersey and enjoys spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Thank you for your service, Joseph!
