Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Thomas E. Bartley. Thomas served from 1968 to 1970 during the Vietnam War.
Thomas was drafted in the Army at 20 years old. After completing training at Fort Bliss, Texas, he was stationed in An Khe, Vietnam with the 60th Air Defense Artillery. He then went to Phu My, Vietnam, with a support unit. Thomas was responsible for track maintenance and escorting missions. He was also the driver of the M42 Duster for his section and was later promoted to track commander. Thomas participated in the Tet Offensive in 1969.
He now belongs to the organization, Vietnam Veterans of America, to help Veterans obtain medical benefits and financial assistance.
Thank you for your service, Thomas!
