Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Navy Veteran Melissa Watson. Melissa served in the United States Navy from 1999 to 2007.
Melissa Watson joined the Navy in 1999. She was one of the first women to be on an active non-compliant boarding team while serving in the area of responsibility for USS Port Royal (CG-73). For her service, Melissa was awarded the Iraq Campaign Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy “E” Ribbon and others.
Melissa lives in Knoxville, Tennessee and is a program support specialist at the Knoxville Veterans Center. She has been accepted to the Master of Science in Social Work at University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
