Marine Veteran Steve Weintraub is today's Veteran Of The Day.

Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Marine Veteran Steve Weintraub, who served 32 years including deployments to Somalia and Iraq.

Steven Weintraub enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserves in April of 1987 and was designated as a Combat Engineer. Upon graduating from Arizona State University in 1989, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant, serving as a logistics Officer.

Throughout his military career, he was deployed around the globe. In 1992 while aboard the USS Rushmore (LSD-17), he was part of the initial landing in Mogadishu, Somalia, participating in Operation Restore Hope.  He left active duty in 1995 and joined the Marine Corps Reserves. He was mobilized to active duty three times, twice to Iraq in 2003 and then again in 2004 as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His additional duties in the Reserves included participating in training and exercises in locations to include Mongolia, Ghana and Bosnia.

Throughout his career spanning 32 years, both on active duty and the Reserves as an enlisted Marine and an officer, Steve achieved the rank of colonel.

Today, Steve officially retires form the Marine Corps having earned the Legion of Merit, two Meritorious Service Medals and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.

Steve is also the Chief Strategy Officer at VetTix, which provides free event, concert, and sports tickets to Veterans and service members with the aim of reducing stress, strengthening family bonds, building life-long memories and encouraging connections with local communities.

We salute his service.
