After numerous back and forths with Amazon customer service I was still not able to get their system to work properly. Today I was able to call and was told that the offer has expired even though they knew I had tried to sign up numerous times and had sent them the information they requested.

I am not impressed with how they handled their error. Other business’ have no issues verifying my eligibility for their offers.

I made the unfortunate mistake of applying for this discount, intending to extend my current Prime membership. What they did not say is that it would kick off any household members who currently are invited to share my Amazon prime benefits. They now have to pay for their own Prime membership. I asked for a refund, and Vanesa B, an Amazon customer service supervisor, flatly refused, reading from a script saying there were no refunds allowed.

Disgusting. Deceptive. A rare example of extremely poor customer service from Amazon.

I never got it to work, and never received any replies until about 40 minutes before then end of the promotion, instructing me to do what I already did, but never addressed the issue. I replied to that e-mail, and all I’m getting now is canned responses from India saying the promotion has expired, period, and never addresses the issue of the discount not working during the promotional period. I did speak from someone that was actually located in the U.S. today who gave me some hope, and said to wait a couple of days for a response to the issue, and gave me a number to call if I don’t hear anything back. In the meantime, the customer service agent suggested I send an e-mail asking them to follow up with me. I did that, and got a response back from India, saying (Can you guess what they said?):

    (Start quote)

    Hello,

    Thankyou for the information
My name is Prachi, I’ll assist you further

The Prime Veteran’s Day offer has been expired and is no longer available.

This offer was valid only between the 6th and 11th of November, 2019.

As the last date for this offer has expired, you’ll not be able to avail the offer.

    I hope this information helps.

We look forward to hear from you.

    Best regards,

Awesome. Just awesome. No, the information did not help. I’ll continue to wait for the response that the “real” customer service agent told me to wait for.

I’m still trying to get veteransdayamazon with amazon. This jas been going on four days. They say I was verified but I can’t sign up because of a glitch. Now they know they’re doing this to many veterans. Save money for them. They don’t serve veterans but they want public to think they do. After these past days have gone they say its too late!!

    • Derrick Barton November 12, 2019 at 21:05

Had the same issue that I was not able to take advantage of the sweet deal that really was not available. Spoke to two customer agents and both were are of the issue but still could not help with the discount. Thanks to Amazon for offering the discount but not really fulfilling it.

  5. Allan Shannon November 12, 2019 at 13:01

Bait and switch. “Thank you for your service Amazon”

  6. Dale York November 12, 2019 at 11:35

I have tried to redeem this offer (prior Nov 11) and it did not work.
Please advise the process to which I can accept this offer, if still available.
With sincere thanks for recognizing our veterans!

  7. Theodore A Jostedt November 12, 2019 at 03:07

Has anyone gotten this to work ?
    Oops, something went wrong.
Sorry, we’re having trouble processing the request. Please make sure your information is correct, and try again. If that doesn’t work, contact our Customer Support team at VeteransDay@amazon.com

      It expired yesterday

  8. Steven Nichols November 12, 2019 at 02:05

Same thing happened to me! It will not let me sign up for the Amazon Prime VeteransDay/Discount
I even emailed them and they asked for information which I gave and I even attached a copy of my ID verified by id me! I hope you will email me tomorrow and make this good!

Well, here we are day 4, now it is November 11, and after trying multiple times on the Amazon site to sign up for my Veterans Amazon Prime Discount, still no luck. I sent and responded to all the emails and been on the phone with customer service. They have no idea what to do. The VA needs to make this right. How sad, so many Veterans having problems signing up and the VA doesn’t bother checking the blog to see that there is a problem and give us a solution. Way to go VA.

  10. Joan Lighty November 11, 2019 at 22:56

we have the same Oops problem. Our Prime Account is in my account and my husband is the career veteran, now retired. Filled out with my birthdate since the account is in myname. Oops. Filled out with my husband’s birthdate. Oops.

    • Ryan November 13, 2019 at 11:10

How does the VA need to make this right? Amazon is a private company, keep complaining to them. The blogger here was just reporting what Amazon was offering. We couldn’t get it to work either, but at least we’re smart enough to know the problem is with Amazon, not the VA. Cheez

  11. Christine Johnson November 11, 2019 at 18:49

They should offer this all year round for Miliary Veterans not just during Veterans day.

  12. Sue Shannon November 11, 2019 at 17:14

I have been trying to get signed up for this for going on three days. I have chatted with Amazon, wrote them and still no deal. Even the person helping me couldn’t get it to go through. I’m a prime member and a senior citizen. I’m a veteran of the Air Force. I think they should extend this since most veterans can’t get signed through no fault of our own.

  13. Scott Reed November 11, 2019 at 13:46

I tried many times to get this discount, even talked to someone one the chat line. I tried different links, and I could never even get past the continue button to get an OOPS!

    • Noel R Logan Jr. November 11, 2019 at 19:00

Count me among the frustrated! I stated my name as it is stated on my DD 214. First I stated my date of discharge from active duty, then my discharge date from the Naval Reserve. I have also been verified through ID ME. Nothing works.

    • Felipe Acosta Jr November 11, 2019 at 20:09

I had the same issue. To top it off, when I called customer service, I kept getting put on hold and after 30 minutes of wasting my time I decided to call it quits.

  14. James R Spalding November 11, 2019 at 08:38

Did not work for me. USAF from 1969-1976. Tried twice and both times got an “oops” message. Very frustrating, waste of time.

  15. Marion simeri November 10, 2019 at 22:19

I talked to Dave at Amazon and was told they are having problems due to large demand. He said offer will be good now till Nov. 15, 2019. I hope he was telling the truth.

  16. Sheldon Ferber November 10, 2019 at 09:07

I am a prime member and am having problems getting $40 veterans discount – I have included all information required several times – HELP PLEASE – floyd58@comcast.net

  17. mARK November 9, 2019 at 20:38

This was an f’ed up promotion. Cancelling my membership. Amazon needs to make this right. This was a whole bunch of chasing the tail for no reason. Thanks for wasting our time VA and Amazon!

  18. Trecia Crews November 9, 2019 at 16:34

Does the discount apply to a widow of a retired military veteran?

  19. Cathleen pelland November 9, 2019 at 14:37

After several attempts on different devices I got the same oops error. I contacted a rep thru the amazon chat, spoke with 5 different people, they locked me out of my account, not one link they sent me worked. Don’t waste your time! They clearly do not want to honor the discount they are advertising.

  20. Kelly Jones November 9, 2019 at 12:15

I ended up sending an email to Jeff Bezos regarding the issues we’ve all been experiencing. I got a reply back from someone on the Executive Customer Support team within a few hours. They took my information and did something on the back-end (don’t know what) to correct the issue. They sent me an email this morning asking me to try the link again and this time everything worked fine. I provided a link to this blog urging them to investigate and emphasized the frustration being felt by all.

  21. Bonnie Yates November 9, 2019 at 10:10

Just finished, work right away, used my husband’s info, account is in my name went thru with np problems. Be sure to use spouses name and age and termination date

  22. Gregory Bell November 9, 2019 at 09:21

opps x3, email, replied, now waiting? total time, 12 mins wasted. priceless amazon, great reminder of being in the army.

  23. Margaret Welch November 9, 2019 at 07:53

Didn’t work for me didn’t work for me either. I tried with my maiden name and married name. What a sham!! :-(

  24. Leo J. November 8, 2019 at 17:32

Did it last night and worked great! Must use link in this article. Entered my Amazon info, name, DOB and in a few minutes, it added 12 months to my existing subscription. My Account is now good until Feb 2021. Coworker was also successful today!

  25. Philip Vogel November 8, 2019 at 17:02

Nice idea, but no link to get help or phone number to call to get help with verification. Waste of time. I have 3 discharge dates, one of which is a retirement date. None of the three worked. Amazon has got to do better.

  26. Mark Cronin November 8, 2019 at 16:24

    This suggestion is for Amazon.
    1. Add up all of the money you spent on this promotion.
    2. Next year, give that same amount to various charities. That way the money will be spent on all Veterans; not just the ones that belong to Amazon prime.

  27. George Tschanen November 8, 2019 at 12:51

I have been trying since this was posted to me and keep getting ( oop!) like everyone else! Really getting pissed!

    • Ronald Mobley November 9, 2019 at 01:17

call this number 888-280-4331 I had to sent a email to the web site veteransday@amazon.com and tell them what was going on with me trying to get the discount. they help me get the discount.

    • Allan Shannon November 10, 2019 at 13:47

Oops, I wasted $40 of my time trying to get this promotion to work. I followed their instructions and talked to a representative who didn`t seem to know much about the program. Guess if they made it difficult to enroll they could save some $.

    • Richard D’Albert November 10, 2019 at 18:02

I didn’t have much luck, spent hours on this stupid discount ploy. Wasted way too much of my time to make it worthwhile. I guess i will just pay the full price just like the non veterans do…
      R. D’Albert

    • Ronald P Robelia November 10, 2019 at 20:56

Trying to register for my discount. Always “oops”. Hon Dis. January 1972. Have prime–any help??

    • Bill Everhart November 10, 2019 at 22:58

This was a little frustrating but I was successful. I tried more than 3 times, but that was probably successful because I closed the browser window and then returned to this page to click the link again and start all over. I don’t think that this checks against your DD214, they take us at our word. I know the approximate month that I was discharged and there was no issue. I appreciate this offer by Amazon and I have now extended my existing Prime membership by a year.

    • Blace Schmidt November 11, 2019 at 12:41

I agree. Doesn’t work. Who do you contact?

    • Blace Schmidt November 11, 2019 at 12:44

Must be a joke as I have tried many times. Nothing works.

  28. Don Volenec November 8, 2019 at 12:44

    This also does not work.

    • David L Robinson November 10, 2019 at 04:42

If you are going to give us something you should just give it whole hearted. Tried several times to get their (offer). Veteran from Ohio

  29. Don Volenec November 8, 2019 at 12:42

I should have checked here first! Would have saved myself much time. Our account is also in my wifes name which no allowance has been made. Even tried the chat room and probably will still be waiting for a reply into next year.

    Thought……. Amazon problem or V A problem??

    • Karen Kaphingst November 10, 2019 at 23:05

My name is on our amazon account also and number1 I keep getting oops out. Number 2. . My husband is retired from the military and we would appreciate it if we could get the Amazon discount. Just because the account isn’t in his name, we’re still married and live together. I don’t see how that should be an issue. My husband put 26 years in the military and I raised 5 children almost by myself. I put my time in also. I served my time on the home front. I supported my husband and all military personnel back then and I still do. I’m very thankful to them for our freedom, and their sacrifices everyday. GOD BLESS OUR MILITARY ♥️

  30. Mary Bonnell November 8, 2019 at 08:23

I have an account in my name, my husband is the veteran. When I inquired the Amazon rep told me to have him sign up and I would get the reduced rate at my next sign up date, 9/2020. I don’t believe that’s going to work as I’m sure they’ll take the money now. Not a very well thought out plan for loyal prime members. Hope Amazon is paying attention to the bad publicity.

  31. Rie T November 8, 2019 at 04:04

Worked the first time, just asked for DOB. I’m guessing it went through because I previously verified through sheer I.D and ID ME site.

    • Kelly Jones November 8, 2019 at 07:42

I verified through ID ME as well, but it still did not work for me.

    • Douglas Drake November 8, 2019 at 12:38

Thank you all for your comments. I have a disability and can already tell that I don’t want t spend what appears to be hours futzing around with this. If you all hadn’t been kind enough to post your comments I would have spent the morning in internet hell.

  32. Grace Bohan November 7, 2019 at 22:17

Kept trying to put in my birthday! Jan 5, 1934! I enlisted as Grace McLeod but married in Sept of 1956! My name discharge was grace Bohan! Maybe that was the problem. I was a Navy Wave!!

  33. Grace Bohan November 7, 2019 at 22:15

Kept trying to put in my birthday! (redacted) I enlisted as Grace McLeod but married in Sept of 1956! My name discharge was grace Bohan! Maybe that was the problem. I was a Navy Wave!! What the heck is a captcha??? Says mine is empty!!

    • Joanne November 9, 2019 at 03:10

Grace Bohan I would not post my name and birthdate on any public site. Thieves use this info to steal your identity. Just trying to help you.

  34. Paula Hephner November 7, 2019 at 21:47

I have tried multiple times. It keeps coming back with, oops! Guess I’ll call them tomorrow.

  35. RAYMOND SANDONATO November 7, 2019 at 21:37

    worked for me. no issues.

  36. B November 7, 2019 at 20:39

I was told the same thing my customer support so I emailed the above listed email address. I have not received a response yet.

    • Craig Limbert November 8, 2019 at 16:52

I got a response right away and they fixed it.

  37. phil mccracken November 7, 2019 at 19:55

Did not work for me, first amazon rep. did not even know about the program. The second rep. I got today said they are working on the problem and I should try again after 48 hours. I guess they are going to fix it after the program is over. This is real bad for amazon, e-mail jeff bezos himself, he does not like screw ups that make him look bad.

  38. Vickie November 7, 2019 at 18:24

However….if the spouse of the veteran already has Prime under their name there is no way to get the benefit to that account . You would need to create a NEW account using the veterans information. Therefore, in my case, I would have a current Prime account for which I paid $119 good through July 2020 and another account in my husbands name for which I would pay $79, good through Nov 2020. Overlapping accounts at the overall amount of $198. Good intention but a fail on the part of Amazon not considering this scenario.

    • Suzanne November 8, 2019 at 17:03

This is what happened to us. My husband was in such a rush to get the $79 account that I did not have a chance to research what was going on. So I now have the $119 account in my name which expires in January 2020, and my husband has his own Prime account that expires in November 2020. We also both “share” one another’s account. As you said, we now have overlapping accounts. What a mess! I’m going to cancel my Prime account under my name.

    • Conni Rippy November 9, 2019 at 14:10

Same problem here…my only consolation is that the Customer Service rep went above and beyond to try to help us out. I have a military ID but I am the spouse and our Prime Account is in my name.

  39. Thomas R Green November 7, 2019 at 17:48

Add me to the list of disappointed veterans that were once again used to benefit corporate America.

  40. Thomas R Green November 7, 2019 at 17:45

Add mine to the multitude of previous comments. Don’t offer a program that you did not bother to properly prepare.
Tried and failed since our Prime account is in my wife’s name and I am the veteran.
Customer Service suggests I try again and if it fails, go to this site.
That is called passing the buck since they (and I ) knew it would not work.
I am sure the PR people at Amazon are being praised for their GREAT veteran support. BS

  41. WILLIAM WITHERS November 7, 2019 at 17:44

Still not working! So I used my phone and worked fine.

  42. Alex Lawrie November 7, 2019 at 17:40

No issues, updated current subscription one year from next due date.

  43. Nelson Ortiz Morales November 7, 2019 at 17:10

Hello, I keep getting the “Oops, having problems with your registration”, please any help will be greatly appreciated.

  44. Patrick Scroggin November 7, 2019 at 17:08

I tried several times and kept getting Oops, something went wrong. I tried the customer service chat room and was left hanging there. I had all the information correct they were asking for. I’m a prime member already, I just think Amazon doesn’t really want to give us a discount after all.

  45. Glen Ross November 7, 2019 at 16:51

I also have jumped through all of the hoops and all of the “oops”. Chat, phone and email. Not sure what the problem is but I congratulate those who did get the discount.

    • Glen Ross November 8, 2019 at 15:16

Heard from CS today and they sent a link, said to try it again. It worked!! Thank you CS.

  46. PAUL MARAN November 7, 2019 at 15:07

Checked my retirement papers for discharge date, entered correctly. Keep getting opps opps opps opps OPPS OPPS OPPS I do not remember how many times. THANKS FOR WASTING MY TIME………

    • Gene Leclerc November 7, 2019 at 22:32

Same problem, using actual dates from DD214 the process does not work for me. I have all my military paperwork, discharge certificate and all DD214s. It says 3 tries and you’re out, I’ve tried two times and don’t want to risk the third. This is BS, how can a company like Amazon screw this up?

I’m a current prime member, trying to take advantage of this deal isn’t going well.

      Gene

    • BILL GRIFFITH November 7, 2019 at 22:45

Same thing was happening to me. I was aware of the 3 attempt rule so when it came up “Woops” I just contacted customer service and played a little hard ball with them. Nothing rude or nasty. Just pointed out how bad this makes Amazon look. If enough vets notified the local newspapers and TV or radio stations it would be terrible PR for them.Worked. Extended my membership for a year. Sometimes you have to grab the bull by the horns.

  47. PAUL MARAN November 7, 2019 at 14:55

Paul Maran Don’t know how many times I’ve tried even went to my retirement papers for exact discharge date opps opps opps opps OPPS. 14×18 = 252 can not even give the answer to the

  48. Michael McCracken November 7, 2019 at 14:14

A Amazon rep had me to cancel my regular subscription and then try the enter my information to receive the discount. Kicked me out 3 times. ?????

  49. Becky Cowan November 7, 2019 at 13:55

Worked for me. Had to enter Full name and discharge date. If you are a veteran, then check the no box on the first question. Then the. Discharge information request comes up. I am already a prime member so extended it a year at $79.

  50. Michelle Hodge November 7, 2019 at 13:33

*** Be sure to use veteran’s DOB!! Even if renewing a current account in a spouse’s name, for instance. This is what made the difference for my application!

  51. Mark November 7, 2019 at 13:22

This is BS. Was this just a ploy for Amazon to get the spotlight while once again Veterans get f’ed over.

  52. JLS November 7, 2019 at 12:26

I think the discount is a ploy to look good. It doesn’t work for me either, all roads to help take you to the same place. Sorry, it seems to be a PR stunt…

  53. Kevin B November 7, 2019 at 12:06

So I did receive the discount. I first entered my contract end date and got the oops message. Then remembered that my discharge from active duty date is different. entered that and received the discount. It may the reason why some people are getting the message. Hope this helps.

    • James J November 7, 2019 at 13:19

Did not work. Called Prime customer service and they said the site was down. She said she would call me back when the site was working again. She promised!! Really!

    • linda lucas November 7, 2019 at 13:56

I am a Prime member already, due to reup on Feb, 2020 so I filled out the form on my iPhone and got the discount immediately. No fuss/no muss/ no hurry up and wait. :)
Happy Veteran’s Day to us all!

  54. Oldsalt November 7, 2019 at 12:02

Tried several times. I just goes in ‘silent death’ mode. When you go back and try to re-enter the info, it does not let you enter your birthday, which is required.
super-bad reflection on Amazon, if so many people are wasting their day trying to get this to work, but it won’t. This his probably generated a million dollars worth opf negative feedback

  55. Alice Walker-Ross November 7, 2019 at 11:38

Would not work for me. It seems to be no use after several tries. Oh well.

  56. Constance Davis November 7, 2019 at 11:37

I would like to know that as well…I do carry my up to date military spouse ID.

  57. Kelly Jones November 7, 2019 at 11:36

As with many others here, this did not work for me. I followed the instructions exactly to no avail. Contacted Amazon support – they were unhelpful except to acknowledge that many others are contacting them with the same issue. They say they’re working on the problem, but that I’d have to wait until tomorrow to try since I exhausted the 3 try limit… only because they instructed me to do so!

  58. terri Moore November 7, 2019 at 10:41

didnt work. tried twice. gave me the oops message. sent a note to support with all I fo. response from support said to provide the info which I had. provided info ag as in ans receive DC another note saying to call them. support person didnt know what to do. since I’m a prime member already, they want to cancel my account and then reopen it for the discount. but, dont get credit for the three months remaining on my membership. this is crazy.

    • Kelly Jones November 7, 2019 at 11:49

I had a similar experience. Amazon front line support hasn’t got a clue.

    • Michael Moretti November 7, 2019 at 16:21

I had the same experience, only when I started the call back process at Amazon, I got a voice message saying that the number i was calling (it was calling me, i only answered!) does not accept calls. Comforting to hear I’m in good company and that I’m not just operating on low mental batteries.

  59. William Kronstedt November 7, 2019 at 10:01

I tried 3 times and no good. Seems like a pattern. If Amazon can’t get it right, then why offer it, especially on a limited time basis? Forty bucks is a nice discount but how long should we keep trying?

  60. Lori C November 7, 2019 at 09:26
    • harold eby November 7, 2019 at 10:54

      did not work for me

  61. J Bright November 7, 2019 at 09:11

Did not work for me. Tried twice!

  62. Peter Pellegrino November 7, 2019 at 08:52

The system did not work for me. I was not sure if they wanted my active duty discharge date or reserve discharge. For ID.me and Lowes I used my AD discharge year. Tried AD discharge month and year on amazon and it did not work. 2ed try I used my reserve date and it failed. Tried one more time and I’m locked out. I called and they are looking into it but I don’t have high hopes.

    • Daryl Proulx November 7, 2019 at 09:36

Did not work for me. It wrote, “Oops, something went wrong.” I tried twice, and I used the correct dates.

  63. Troy Davis November 7, 2019 at 08:31

Worked for me. The link sent me to the VA site then I entered my name and discharge date. It redirected my order to amazon and I confirmed the purchase. Using a iPad

  64. Jim Close November 7, 2019 at 08:12

It worked fine for me! I verified my Prime Membership with Amazon support and they told me that in fact my membership was extended by one year. This is a great deal, from $119.00 to $79.00.

  65. Jim M McGory November 7, 2019 at 07:51

Does not work. Spoke with an Amazon CSR this morning. They have no clue what to do or how to help!

  66. GREGORY G TROCK November 7, 2019 at 07:46

Finally got a hold of support through chat. Sent me an email which I responded and filled out. Drawback is I have a 24 to 48 hr wait for a response to see if its ok.

  67. Gary Valinski November 7, 2019 at 07:03

Didn’t work for me. I talked to 4 people on the phone, did 2 chats, everyone keeps giving me a different website to go to and they should be able to help…didn’t work. One person told me I could not get in, because I was already a member of prime and I had to cancel my membership…didn’t work. No one I talked to seemed to know what they were doing.

  68. James Dean Langley November 7, 2019 at 06:49

    Same for me didn’t work.

  69. George Lyons November 7, 2019 at 04:23

It worked for me signing in from my current Prime Member page; as mentioned, if not currently Active or Reserve, check “No” and enter your discharge month and year. The $79 fee will kick in when your current year expires. Thank you, Amazon. ✨

  70. Terry Franzman November 7, 2019 at 03:33

Tried it 3 times after logging into my Prime account. No go……”Something went wrong….” all 3 times.

How is it Amazon is verifying that I’m a vet? Not sure I gave the VA permission to give Amazon my info and I didn’t give Amazon permission to comb my VA records.

  71. Walter Jones November 7, 2019 at 02:02

The link for the Amazon Prime discount does not work Tried in Mozilla Firefox -3 times and i get a error message – called amazon and the support people could not help either was told to send a message to amazon and wait for a reply that address was — veteransday@amazon.com hope this helps

  72. Tony D November 7, 2019 at 00:41

Didnt work, tried 3x and banned me… and Im a Prime member!

  73. Scott November 7, 2019 at 00:36

I tried 6 times and it won’t let me enroll for the discount, keep getting an ‘oops, something went wrong’ error message. I have my DD214 and am enrolled in the VA, so I am very disappointed right now, and they only offer this for 5 days, so is this going to be fixed!?

  74. John Pilge November 6, 2019 at 23:54

Count your blessings. Amazon Prime isn’t for everyone.
Amazon Prime may not be worth it to you if…

You don’t order from Amazon frequently
Your Amazon orders are typically over $25 (Amazon offers free shipping for orders $25+ without prime)
    You don’t watch streaming video
You don’t listen to streaming music
It’s clearly stated when you sign up that you’ll be on auto renewal.
Free shipping is only to YOUR address. Not gifts to another address.

  75. Joe Sparks November 6, 2019 at 23:43

Tried to sign up but kept getting an error! Hopefully, the email they list works! Think they’d have the site up and working without errors!

  76. Scott Kaufman November 6, 2019 at 23:35

What if you can’t find your DD214 papers?
Any other options available, I know my discharge date?
Thanks in advance for your support,

    • Patti Rosenthal November 7, 2019 at 08:43

If you can’t find your DD 214, contact National Archives in St. Louis. Check out their website, and you can request it online. Go to NARA.gov. I do hope your record was not among the millions of records destroyed in the fire in the mid to late 70’s – mostly WWII records.

  77. Jason O. Nungesser November 6, 2019 at 21:42

Worked fine for me. I clicked the link, signed in and verified my date of separation. If you’re having problems try waiting and trying again. It may just be that the server is too busy.

  78. pein November 6, 2019 at 21:31

    you need to contact VeteransDay@amazon.com

  79. Chelle November 6, 2019 at 20:30

Worked for me. I’m a veteran. Thank you, Amazon!

  80. Martin November 6, 2019 at 20:09

This worked for the next renewal and all I had to do was log on to Amazon and check out. Thanks Jeff!

  81. Kevin B November 6, 2019 at 18:46

It didn’t work for me either. The rep on the phone has no idea about the promotion (doesn’t sound like he’s from this country) and the chat rep says the system isn’t updated for this new promotion.

  82. Steven Scarlett November 6, 2019 at 18:38

Worked for me up until payment method. I didn’t want my gift balance put towards this purchase. Hit change, went to another screen, changed it, went to the next screen and the discount was removed. Called amazonprime and am now in the process of exchanging emails. To be continued. Hopeful.

  83. Steve Decaria November 6, 2019 at 18:36

This is BS! Should not treat Veterans like this. Gddamn Bezos.

  84. DevineDiva November 6, 2019 at 16:49

Just reached out to Amazon via phone. They are having issues across the board because of the amount of traffic trying to take advantage of the discount.

  85. B Crawford November 6, 2019 at 14:41

Does it extend your current expiration date by a year, or does it reset it to a year from this purchase date? Im not due for 2 months, don’t want to “double pay”.

  86. Ryan Ford November 6, 2019 at 14:23

Worked for me. If you were in the Guard or Reserve, and are no longer in, try using the last date that you came off of orders for deployment.

    • S Michelle November 7, 2019 at 00:09

Worked perfect! FYI Make sure you are verified through sheer ID site & I.D ME site. I emailed my VA photo yesterday for the target promotion for veterans right now and it wouldn’t work until I sent in proof I was a veteran. Now everything is going through fine.

    • Robert Eugene Jones November 7, 2019 at 02:01

Does service connected disability qualify for the Amazon discount ?

  87. Mel p November 6, 2019 at 14:12

If you have an account already just login and go to the menu, click on prime and it will take you to the page.

  88. Sara Lopez November 6, 2019 at 13:59

I kept getting an error and Amazon chat support told me to email veteransday@amazon.com.

    • Sara Lopez November 6, 2019 at 15:49

Update: I emailed them. They replied quickly asking for name, DOB, and whether AD or retired, and a .mil email. They replied to that within an hour saying I was now verified and a link (same as above) but it still didn’t work.
      I give up.

  89. Martha Toy November 6, 2019 at 13:51

I want to know if the discount is available to military widows too.

    • Marla Blankenship November 6, 2019 at 15:40

      Me to

  90. Raina Marie Scott November 6, 2019 at 13:46

It worked for me. Thank you Amazon!

  91. Michael Hollinger November 6, 2019 at 13:44

veterans discount wouldn’t work for me

  92. Jen A November 6, 2019 at 13:36

Can’t get this to work as a Veteran. No email listed to contact Amazon and reps on the phone have no idea what promo I’m referencing.

  93. Phare Brent November 6, 2019 at 13:34

I had to email them at VeteransDay@amazon.com. And shockingly, it worked!

    • Sara Lopez November 6, 2019 at 14:10

How long did it take after you emailed them?

  94. James Rourke November 6, 2019 at 13:32

Link does not work. Hopefully, it will get fixed soon.

  95. David C Long November 6, 2019 at 13:14

Anyone have the help email address?

  96. edgar rivera November 6, 2019 at 12:49

Not able to do this, chat said there is nothing they can do

    • pein November 6, 2019 at 20:57

      you can contact amazon directly

  97. Wes Becker November 6, 2019 at 12:02

It worked great for me! tip: if you’re not currently active duty, you have to select “no” when it asks and then select your discharge date. Thanks for the tip VA.GOV :)

  98. Charles Tippie November 6, 2019 at 12:00

Tried verifying my eligibility twice of the three attempts allowed, still no dice. On the phone with a rep and no one knows how to extend your membership so far. Looks like I will wait for a call back on Friday. Nice attempt, but failed at execution so far.

  99. T. Smith November 6, 2019 at 11:56

On the phone with Amazon. It seems that there are issues in verification for veteran status, and continues to give an error.

    • Vet November 6, 2019 at 12:57

any luck? mine is doing the same

    • David C Long November 6, 2019 at 13:15

      What’s the number?

  100. Tiffany Barker November 6, 2019 at 11:45

    worked for me. no issues.

  101. Erin B Hendrix November 6, 2019 at 11:28

Email Amazon if it says it doesn’t work and they’ll help you manually.

    • Mark Roe November 6, 2019 at 12:41

Didn’t work for me.. this is the support email the rep gave me in chat: VeteransDay@amazon.com

  102. Theresa Gregory November 6, 2019 at 11:24

Not able to sign up. There is a problem with link.

  103. Jean Stratis November 6, 2019 at 11:10

Is this discount available to military widows and his or her surviving family?

  104. Donald Luke November 6, 2019 at 10:14

Unfortunately the link for the Amazon Prime discount does not work, times out. Tried in Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge, both time out and never go to Amazon
