Photos of the Week: Disney VoluntEARS decorate the Orlando Fisher House for Christmas

The Orlando Fisher House extends comfort and security to families while their wounded, injured or ill warriors receive essential medical care at the Orlando VA.

Disney VoluntEARS members from their active-duty military and Veteran support cast member group—SALUTE—recently spent a morning and afternoon decorating the house and listening to holiday music, all while smelling cookies in the oven. Photos via Orlando VA staff.

Photos of the Week: Veterans Parade at the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical CenterVeterans lined the halls of the Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center on Nov. 8 to watch the first ever Inpatient Veterans Parade, made possible by one VA employee’s vision and the patriotic spirit of a community.

A total of 25 organizations and VA services joined in the event, which included Muskogee High School’s marching band, cheerleaders, and football players. Members from the Korean War Veterans, American Red Cross; and over 80 students from Sadler Arts Academy also participated.


Photos of the Week: Col. Carl Cooper visits VA

Retired Marine Colonel Carl Cooper recently spent lunch with the Birmingham VAMC dentistry office. Cooper is a brisk 99 year old who handed American Flags to each member of the dentistry department.

Cooper, who served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam, has been receiving health services from the VA since 1980.

    Excellent, keep up the good for all of our Veterans. Its getting harder and harder to maintain American Freedoms, but thanks to those who take the oath to defend us.
