Another year is coming to the close, so we thought we’d do a big link drop for resources and useful information to keep you going through the New Year.
Health
We often mention the Veterans Crisis Line and how it has saved lives, but this video really drives home the enormous effort from dedicated folks to staff the call centers day and night. And as always, the Crisis Line can be reached at 1-800-273-8255, online through chat, and now by text at 838255.

I think it a shame for our true heroes do without and the va will econsider giving benefits to a boy that goes AWOL twice and leaves his post in afganistan just because needed to relieve himself. This conduct does not deserve reward. He was a disgrace to the uniform and to the country. I know because this boy is my granedson. When will society make people make people like him stand on his own? He just wants someone to take of him because he is too lazy to work. Since his discharge and before he hasn’t and won’t work as long as he can get away with it. Really sad.

While a new home is great, a refinance with just OK credit is not so great. Here I am paying over $1100.00 a month in Mortgage, real estate taxes, condo fees and assessments, It along with my medicine co pays at the VA plus gasoline etc to get to the various Hospitals and food etc keeping me penny less. So when the day comes I need an extra over the counter med I do without. But what the heck. My mortgage gets paid on time with a 5.8% by direct pay from my checking account. With bad credit there would be no way I could afford my mortgage say at 2.8% or even 3% on a refinance. Add to that I wouldn’t have the protection of the lower fees of an original mortgage. I was told by a friend he got whacked $5500.00 closing costs on a refi. Hey I’d Be willing but I can’t get to fill out an app. Sarcasm!!! YOU BET.
