VA and the Veterans Day National Committee are currently accepting submissions for the 2022 Veterans Day poster contest.

Are you an artist – professional or amateur? Do you like to create artwork that honors Veterans? VA and the Veterans Day National Committee are currently accepting submissions for the 2022 Veterans Day poster contest.

Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on April 1. Anyone can enter. The winning design will be displayed in VA facilities; military installations; federal, state, and local office buildings; and classrooms across America. Winning posters are also occasionally observed in the background of TV shows and movies about Veterans. Most importantly, the poster will serve as the cover of the official program for the Veterans Day observance at Arlington National Cemetery on November 11, 2022, during which a grateful nation will honor Veterans for their service and sacrifices.

Submissions should reflect this year’s Veterans Day theme: “Honor.” Veterans are proud of their military service in defending our Nation. “Honor” reflects the military value and tradition of answering the call of duty. There is distinct honor in serving to protect our way of life and the Constitution of the United States of America.

In her submission, Teresa Harrington – winner of the 2019 competition – featured the wartime journal of her late father, WWII Veteran James M. Battcock. “Every Veteran has a story of service and sacrifice,” she said. “I’m lucky that my father recorded some of his story.”

The designer of the winning 2020 poster, Casey Brown, is a Marine Corps Veteran who served in the infantry and deployed to Iraq. “I feel honored and respectful of the fact that I am representing my fellow Veterans and brothers and sisters in arms. It is my hope to express in art what most of us feel,” Brown said.

Winning submissions from past years are posted on this website.

If you are interested in submitting a design to be considered for this year’s competition, visit the Veterans Day poster competition website for the submission guidelines.

I wish I was an artist. I have so many designs in my mind but no artistic talent. I will be content to be a viewer of art and a listener of music as I am not talented in music either.
