Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Angel Arizmendi.
As a Flight Nurse in the Air Force, he provided “Care in the Air” for wounded American soldiers, foreign nationals, Department of Defense personnel, and military dependents.
He completed tours in Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Japan.
He was awarded the Aerial Achievement Medal for providing medical care to wounded soldiers during multiple missions from combat zones in Afghanistan and Uzbekistan during their aeromedical evacuation to Ramstein, Germany.
Angel retired from the Air Force in February 2016 after 22 years of service.
Angel is currently works for VA as the Nurse Manager for the Victor J. Saracini Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Horsham, Pennsylvania. The clinic has more than 10,000 Veterans assigned to it.
