Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Rodney Egel.
Rodney enlisted in the Marine Corps in May 2007 and served as a 2631 Electronic Intelligence Inctercept Operator/Analyst.
He did one tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as an augment with VMAQ-3 in 2008.
Rodney was then selected to be a Marine Security Guard. He was posted at U.S. Embassies in Lima, Peru; Tel Aviv, Israel; and Luanda, Angola.
After discharging he spent a year teaching English in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
He now lives in Des Moines where he teaches social studies at a high school for at risk youth.
