Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Ann Marie Torres.
Ann Marie joined the Army in 2008. She was assigned to the 812th Quartermaster Company in Harlingen Texas. Her unit was promptly deployed to Camp Stryker Baghdad Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Anne Marie remained on active duty with the Warrior Transition Brigade in Fort Hood, Texas before being honorably discharged from active duty into the reserves in 2011. She continued to serve with the 370th Transportation Company Detachment 1 at NAS Kingsville, Texas.
Anne Marie was inducted into the Women In Military Service for America Memorial in Washington, D.C. She is also a service officer for the VFW Post 2375, a trustee for the American Legion Post 185, and a member of at least two other Veterans organizations.
