Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Jose A. Cuellar. Jose served in World War II.
Before joining the Army in Feb. 1943, Jose was a professional boxer. His tenacity transferred over into this combat duty under the division. During his time in combat, Jose was cut off from his company by German forces. With another soldier, Jose courageously and strategically fired at the enemy lines, preventing them from flanking their company. Jose’ bravery and honor during the war was recognized with Silver Star and Bronze Star.
After serving 11 months in France, Germany, and Austria, Jose left the service. He is now 93 years of age.
Thank you for your service, Jose!
